I had called this place to reserve a night at a spot that my friend reserved for the weekend (arriving Friday). I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off. read more

Wow. Had a great time until the boat failed and nearly injured another camper. My boat was awesome the whole day and failed upon docking nearly taking a mans leg. Jim dealt with the incident with much aggression and much miss understanding. The control of the boat doesn't just fall off. This is from many hours of lack of maintenance that led to the this out of control failure. This campground is spectacular and far enough away from the crowds that you really feel like you are getting away from everything. This is the only campground/resort on Lake Lemolo so the lake is not overcrowded or noisy. The lake is pristine and the fishing is excellent for rainbow trout and brown trout. A short hike in any direction puts you completely in the wilderness. The facilities here are spotless and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. The small store is well stocked with various items from food to souvenirs. This campground is very family-friendly and was very quiet at night. Rented one of their boats to take out on the lake and it worked well and was reasonably priced. I will definitely be back! read more

For my birthday my girlfriend had the great idea of climbing Mount Thielsen, so we wanted to stay somewhere relatively close by. We called last minute from Roseburg and the lady on the phone told us our cabin/room number and told us to come pay in the morning. I thought that was pretty cool. The room was on the top floor of an A-frame cabin, so it was a fairly confined space. It had a microwave, mini-fridge and a bathroom with shower. The room was clean and the bed had lots of warm blankets which were needed. Overall it's a good place to stay if you're not looking for anything fancy. Also check out their breakfast, it was slow, but good fuel for climbing a mountain. read more

Very nice, needs some basic maintenance and updating. Staff was terrific! No jet skis! Restaurant closed so if worlds greatest burger is on list forget it. Boats are a bit tired but very charming. I will go back, but do all my shopping in town before I get there. All and all the cabins are a skip back in time. Have fun. Beautiful, quiet mountain lake! While camping in the nearby Umpqua National Forest, my friends and I decided to make a trip to Lemolo Lake for some swimming, boating, and an afternoon picnic. Much smaller than nearby Diamond Lake, Lemolo is also much more quiet and peaceful, but still quite pretty. The resort rents paddle boats and rowboats for $10/hr., stocks fishing gear and basic supplies, and has a cafe with several delicious-smelling options (didn't order anything because we brought picnic stuff). No beer, though :( There are several picnic tables spread out under the pine trees along the lakeshore, and the lake water is clear and warm (at least it was on the day we were there!)-- great place! read more

We checked in to find rat poop all over the bed. The owner only offered to change the sheets - which you would think the sheets should have been changed before we checked-in. They couldn't put us in another place or give us a discount. The entire night, I couldn't sleep because the rats where squeaking behind the walls. We decided not to stay another night and we weren't offered any discount but instead charged for the second night. I highly suggest you find another place. read more

Quiet, peaceful, breathtaking view.... Small resort operating with a great staff. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer. Stayed in the boathouse which is such a quaint setting. Having stayed here twice in the last 3 years, we're happy to say we'd do it again! Very quiet, beautiful little lake. A-frame cabins are tiny but fun. No sofas, armchairs, TV but the beds were super comfy and the dining table and benches rustic and sturdy. Because we spent most time outdoors, didn't need the amenities. Hope to catch fish next trip. Maybe winter would be fun, too. Conveniently close to Crater Lake. read more

Just gotten worse here since I first came 35 years ago. Same mouse turds in room and bed. Same broken goodwill furniture. Same non- working plumbing. EXACT same sink/stove/ref units from the 50's. But then the rooms were 30$ a night. They fibbed about the fishing and the algae bloom. Didn't want to fix the faucet till after we left. They knew about it before they rented us the room! Used to be 10mph limit on the lake. Signs disappeared and now they rent ski-doos. Fibbed about that too. Took out the quaint little bar and now sell you tourist junk. This place is a junkyard. Don't know where the good reviews come from, but take a good look around the place before you stay here! 180$ a night, and they STILL want to charge you for firewood??? read more

We stayed at the Lemolo Lake Resort KOA this week and had a very nice time. The grounds-keeper there told us it was under new management, as a KOA, as of this past year, and that the new owners/managers are working hard to improve the place. The lake is beautiful, scenic and peaceful, with an amazing view of Mt. Thielsen. It was a great place for star-gazing at night. The day-use/picnic area was basic, but pleasant. Along the lake, there are some nice nature trails and plenty of lovely places to picnic and hang out. Boating is available on the lake. The KOA has canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, motor boats and pontoon boats for rent. The KOA store is basic, but provides essentials and non-perishable food items. They also have DVDs and books you can borrow. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The campground is small, and kind of tight, but the people there were very courteous and respectful of other campers; it didn't feel overly crowded. Most of the campsites are for large RVs and provide hook-ups; while we were there, it was about 80% full. There are a hand-full of tent sites along the perimeter, which is where we stayed. The campsite area is partially wooded, so you don't feel like you're in a barren, dusty wilderness. The tent campsites were nicely maintained, with good tent-pad locations, cleaned-out fire-pits, sturdy clean picnic tables, and water spigots. (There are a couple walk-in tent campsites by the lakeside, but we they don't have water spigots.) The entire campground was clean, but still nicely rustic. If you plan to BBQ, I'd recommend bringing an adjustable grill, because the fire-pit grills don't adjust in height. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. The showers run on tokens, but they're free to campers staying at the campground. We chose to stay here because we read bad reviews about the campgrounds at Crater Lake NP (which was the aim of our visit). In the end, we were really glad we chose Lemolo Lake for our base campsite, because it gave us 2 lakes to enjoy, for our trip. read more

We'd made arrangements to stay at Lemolo Lake for the week before the 4th of July weekend. Their website said they had a restaurant and a store. Great for a meal out and for stocking up on forgotten supplies. We arrived at the resort, checked in and were greeted by a carpet of mouse turds just outside our front door. No worries, a sign on the cabin wall said there were preventive measures to curb the rodents (D-con, etc.). When we went down to the boat launch to check out the lake, we met the resort fix-it guy who told us that the resort had actually burnt down a couple of weeks before. There was no restaurant and no store. No one mentioned this when we checked in. We checked their website again and there was mention of a "small" fire, no mention of the lack of amenities. We thought this was deceptive advertising since we were paying $160 a night for a room in the middle of nowhere that did not offer what was promised on their web site (good thing we brought a lot of food). Maybe they should have called the people that had reservations and let them know? Ya think? As our stay proceeded we noticed that, despite a fire at the main lodge, the cabin didn't have a fire extinguisher and the smoke alarm didn't work. The toilet broke, but was fixed, and curtains on the main floor bedroom didn't cover the window. Okay, we're in the wilderness (and the mosquitoes were eating us alive!) -- you can't expect all the comforts of home The final straw was waking up to make breakfast one morning and finding that the mice had already had theirs. They'd eaten through several of our food items and left their turds all over. Investigation revealed there was no D-con, no traps, no anything to stop the mice once they got into the cabin. That was it. We packed up and went home. On the way home we checked the Lemolo Lake Resort website and saw they had finally fessed up to not having a restaurant tho they had set up a small store with soda, candy, ice cream, resort clothing, and chili dogs. Oh Dear...not so good....At 200 bucks a night one would expect real towels - not threadbare and stained. The bed was comfortable (We brought our own pillows - thank God) The couch in the living room was so disgusting it looked like it had been taken from a landfill. There is no internet or food so you have to drive 14 miles to Diamond Lake and when you get there you will wish you were staying there instead. The on site store has nothing to make a meal with unless you are a fan of Top Ramen or beans - at the store/ck in you are greeted with 2 older fellows that really should leave their shirts on - they banter back and forth with a well rehearsed schtick that is amusing and annoying at the same time. On the positive side the unit was clean, the setting sublime and the overall atmosphere peaceful. I think this was a really nice resort at one time and wish I could give it a better review. read more

I came to Oregon to visit friends in Klamath Falls but wanted to get away for a few days for some trout fishing. Everyone suggested Diamond Lake, but they were full and suggested I call Lemolo Lake Resort, so we booked two days there. It was fantastic! It is definitely an "undiscovered gem". There is no doubt that when the word gets out that this place will be packed, but for now, it is the quiet mountain getaway that everyone dreams about. The facilities are rustic but nice. The food is surprisingly good as well. The resort is family run and they really took good care of us.They always did that "little bit extra" to make sure our stay was memorable. Of course the lake is beautiful, pristine and loaded with gratuitous amounts of big, fat, beautiful Brown and Rainbow trout. If you're not familiar with the fishing techniques, just ask and everyone will help, but I highly recommend booking the owner, Scott, for guided fishing so you'll really load up on the fish. Stay away from this resort when you visit the area is the best advise I can give you. Just to share my personal experience honestly and truthfully, in brief, I was forced not being able to stay in the cabin I reserved because of lack of information on their website and notice, that the restaurant was not open the day of our arrival, and there's no receptionist (which is fine). We planned to have our thanksgiving dinner but we didn't know it was closed until we get there, and call the owner to find out. They only let us know that there were foods in another hotel 12 miles away. We tried to call but no one answers. We asked for help bringing in some foods and there was absolutely no hospitality in return. To avoid getting starved we had to decide to give up the cabin and start driving away into the city to find our next accommodation and, FOOD. read more

We made a late decision to take a trip to Crater Lake. Of course, this late in the season there was nothing available in the Park itself. I originally made reservations at Diamond Lake, making the mistake of doing that BEFORE I read the reviews online...I immediately cancelled my reservation. I found Lemolo online and thought it looked like it would be fine for our needs, that we would hardly be there. The online reservation system is VERY easy and user friendly. Worked perfectly. We got there and were very pleasantly surprised. Their website doesn't do it justice. Lemolo Lake is gorgeous. Really a beautiful setting. The staff is friendly, though a little gruff. They will gladly answer your questions and cook you a meal, but don't expect to be treated with kid gloves. Cabin was super clean, clean linens and incredibly clean bathroom. Nice fire pit and view of the lake, though obstructed by beautiful trees. They have a well stocked store/cafe. Food was basic and edible (coffee surprisingly good), and priced at what you would expect in the middle of nowhere, but fair. One weird thing was for breakfast we were only given a choice of two of the items on the menu, but the group that ordered after us (and order taken by someone else) ordered other items and received them. Seems the cook (also the owner..) who took our order really only felt like cooking what he wanted, not what we wanted. Back to the not treated with kid gloves thing...sometimes they call the shots..the customer is not always right. But that was by far the only downfall. Well that and ZERO cell service, but thats our carriers issue, not theirs. Walk out on the piers at night for some amazing star watching. Take your coffee down to the lake in the very early morning for some incredible solitude. Nice short trails to walk around. All in all, I felt like we got a lot more than we paid for. Well worth the very fair price of the cabin. We would recommend this place, and would go back for sure. read more

Absolutely Beautiful and fun place to stay. We had never been here before our trip so we got a little lost trying to find it, which isn't good because of the lack of service in those mountains. When we got service and tried calling to ask if we're going the right direction we couldn't get through to the office because they close at 5pm and we were running late. Regardless, once we got there we were blown away at how beautiful this lake and small resort was. The lodges are cute and quaint. I'm 5'5 and I had an easy time moving around the lodge, someone 6' or taller may have a problem with the angle of the stairs or the shower size. Rats were not a problem for us. They were a little noisy outside our room at night but at least they weren't inside. The lodge has a cafe if you get there before 5pm, it's a little pricy but very tasty, and the staff is very nice and helpful if you want to find something else to do in the area! read more
