Amazing place! Beautiful view of the McKenzie River and I actually caught a couple of nice rainbow…read moretrout right off the deck. I waded out in front of the cabin and caught about 20 more over a couple of days. Everything is really close to anything you would want to do, the owners are nice and helpful. There are some amazing hikes near by and a lot to do on the river. My only complaint is that my phone internet service was horrible and it's hard to look up stuff. I would have like to have wifi in the cabin. There is no cable but some DVDs and a DVD player and some DVDs for rent at the market about 10 min down the road. If they add wifi, the place will be a solid 5 stars but that isn't to say it's not amazing now. Had a blast.

Oh my goodness, let me start by saying what a beautifully restored and maintained cabin this is! I…read morestumbled upon this little gem while looking for a last minute place to spend my anniversary with my boyfriend. I have only driven out to the McKenzie river area once prior to this and it really is just a gorgeous drive. We stayed in cabin #1. I was so excited to arrive and I really must say the pictures just don't do it justice. It is beautifully decorated and perfectly set up for an extended stay. All the little touches like the BBQ and patio set out on the porch and board games in the laundry room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean - Everything was clean. The kitchen is well stocked with a variety of dishes, I was a little worried so we took food that was easy to prepare but I really could have cooked just about anything I wanted. I have to say that I enjoyed that there is no TV in the cabin and I hope that doesn't change. I spent my evening drinking margaritas on the porch and my morning in the same spot drinking my coffee and it was wonderful. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this little place and I cannot wait to go back in the spring and bike the McKenzie trail. There are so many beautiful natural wonders to explore in this area. Although I would be back much sooner if well behaved pets were allowed ;) If you're a fisher TAKE YOUR POLE! We unfortunately left ours at home and really regretted it as we watched many on the river catch their daily limits. **I feel that I should address the previous review that mentions the road and the sound of traffic. I almost chose not to book this room specifically because of that review, and boy am I glad that I decided to give it a shot (I also cross referenced trip adviser and VRBO reviews). Yes it is pretty close to the road and yes you can hear the traffic. If you want to focus on the sounds of traffic instead of relaxing and listening to the sounds of the river I guess that's your prerogative. I chose to enjoy the river and in no way did the traffic negatively affect my stay, and I could really only hear it when I had the windows on the front of the house open anyway.

I go for the sounds..........................of the river..............right outside the french doors. The fireplace is wonderful and the window that you can leave open in the bedroom is enchanting. The cabin's deck sits directly over the beautiful McKenzie River which provides such spectacular ambiance you won't soon forget, not to mention the wildlife that abounds. The vacation that I wanted was one where I can arrive and not have to worry about packing all the comforts of home. The owner, Jeff, has a long background of working in the hospitality industry and has done extensive traveling around the world and his experience certainly shows in the way he accommodates the guests with everything from a very comfy bedroom, a well equipped kitchen and bathroom as well as the books that he created which are full of historic photos and stories as well as maps of the area. Jeff also provides lists of recommend places to visit and listings of local recommended restaurants. If you're looking for a place to rest your weary bones after hiking or a place to just sit on the deck and enjoy the wildlife, I highly recommend Blue Heaven Cabin. I'm really looking forward to my next stay.

The meeting place was well described to us and followed up with an email. The shuttle was right on time. Chris was very personable. I loved his knowledge of the area and information he shared with us regarding the bike ride we were about to go on. He also had detailed maps of the 26 mile rides for us and also described some specific areas of the trail. I have been on many shuttles. What I loved most about Chris is that at the end he wanted to make sure everyone was ok and no questions that anyone had were left unanswered. He did not rush off. Thank you!!

This review is for the Mtn bike rental and shuttle for the Mackenzie river trail…read more The good: the trail is worth the drive (from anywhere) and the questionable service. You're riding along the Mackenzie river on a single track trail for up to 25 miles. The scenery is amazing. The water is roaring and clear. The trail is very well maintained. I'm glad this business exists and people have an opportunity to explore this terrific landscape. The bad: we showed up and the guy behind the desk was stressed and had a lot of anxiety. It was only us and one other group of two people. We planned on doing the entire trail (25 miles) but were told the top 9 miles is very technical and we should only do the bottom 16 miles. We submitted and said okay. Unfortunately, where we dropped off only allowed for 10 miles of beginner riding. I called when we finished and they said it was a miss-communication on their part and would take us further up. We went further up and did the next 10 miles. There was one mile of pretty technical riding where we had to stop riding and walk a decent amount. The rest of the time was all beginner/intermediate riding. When finished we couldn't call the shop to get picked up because there was no service. We rode along the road until there was service and called and txted the driver 11 times. No answer. We finally called the shop and were informed that "his phone was on the charger." They said he would be here to pick us up in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called back and got a lot of attitude from the front desk staff saying "we have other things to do to." Luckily it was an amazing ride. Really hoping they can get their communication and customer service dialed in!

We really really enjoyed this lovely retreat home in Sister's as we visited Smith Rock State Park…read more Such a beautiful part of the country and what a great choice we made for the 6 of us in this perfectly appointed, very professionally run retreat space. Bright, clean, spacious, it's so ample with two living room spaces and ample bedrooms (that have GREAT mattresses in them btw), we felt so fortunate to have this to come back to after some aggressive hiking. The kitchen is superbly appointed, with a fantastic stove - and a grill that works. You will love this space! We will be back next year and this will be our spot. Felt so luxurious for the pricing. PS: excellent communication from the management using text messaging which we love. Easy entry, customer service was terrific (we didn't need anything).

Steve came out and met us in the back yard with a cute couple of pups, and our dog had such a good time playing that I think he thought it was the best vacation ever. I laughed so hard watching them play, I wished I had caught it on film because it was so funny. The house is an easy walk to Downtown Bend. It's off in a neighborhood, so you feel like you're getting a real feel for what it is like to live in the area. There were two bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub, and I had an excellent bath. The other bath had an amazing walk in shower. I fell in love with the creative, and thoughtful design of the spaces and Steve was generous with his time and showed me another space in the triplex. Such creative design, it was just fun to hang out in the house. Bend is surrounded by incredible natural beauty, so we went hiking every day. The hot tub at the end of the day was perfect. The kitchen is set up fully so, it would be easy to cook though we didn't since Bend is filled with great restaurants. Both Alex and Steve are great hosts. Near enough to Oakridge in case you need to get anything in town (less than 10 minute drive). 4. Multiple cabins and a yurt available in case you want to rent multiple units for a large group or family event. 5. Large natural spaces available to hang out, plus two friendly tired dogs providing some company (Simba and Max). 6. Also full kitchens in the cabins making it great to cook. Plus free farm fresh eggs! 7. With so many trees, it stayed pretty cool in the heat (upper 80's). Cons: 1. We stayed in the Cowboy Cabin which had maybe a little too many knick knacks, making it difficult to spread out. I felt like I was moving things often to have a little more room. 2. Not sure if Sally is on the property often, as we stayed only two nights, but we couldn't find her the first night we were there. Luckily we didn't need anything so that was great. There were also two maintenance folks around so we probably could've asked them. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, great place! And great cost - we paid $150 for one night at the Cowboy Cabin which had one private room and a loft with two full beds. I would definitely stay there again but select the other cabin instead (the price would be the same but with a larger loft and more space).
