Fantastic location, most cottages on the river with excellent views. Each cottage is unique in layout and capacity, but all were clean well stocked and sooo cozy! We discovered these cottages as we were viewing the wedding venue a cross the street for ours sons wedding. A perfect spot for family and friends to stay during the 3 day wedding festivities. Jean and here staff were FANTASTIC! Above and beyond service was the standard, not the exception! Since we had to book well on advance for the venue, Jean was able to accommodate all the various changes in our wedding party as to arrivals, number of guests and what not. We stayed here, along with most of our wedding guests, back in September and it was better than we could've ever imagined. We had our wedding across the street at Holiday Farm Resort so having the cottages right across the street was so convenient. I worked with Jeanne personally throughout the entire process and she was so helpful, kind, and professional. We talked so often that by the time we met in person, we had to hug each other because we felt like friends! We love it here! The cottages are all different and unique. Jean is wonderful to work with and makes sure you can relax and enjoy yourself. I could sit on the porch and read all day listening to the river and wildlife. Beautiful nature drive and heartbreaking reminder of what damage wildfires can do. Our camping plans got interrupted by some rare torrential rainfall and a forecast that called for another 24 hours of the same. We decided to not even fight it. Fortunately, after a brief search, we found McKenzie River Cottages, and they had availability! BTW, if you have T-Mobile, forget about getting a signal anywhere in the area! We rented Little Cabin, which was so nice! They have cabins over-hanging the river and although we looked at one that was available, we opted for the wood fireplace, king bed, and a river view instead of an over-hang. The cottage was spotless. The owner, Jean, was extremely friendly and helpful. Because it was only 7 miles from Paradise campground where our two friends were staying in their camper van, we were able to enjoy both venues. Kind of the best of two worlds! The McKenzie River is stunning and right now it and all the waterfalls in the area are flowing fast and frothy! There are covered bridges in the area, very pretty! Virus-wise, we noticed no one wearing masks except for us when we went into a store. That said, social distancing was respected at the cottages. And like I said, the place was very clean. We will definitely consider staying here again! read more

We were absolutely thrilled that we chose to stay here instead of some mediocre hotel with little character or charm. We stayed in the Honeymoon cottage and it was perfect! Clean, comfy, wood for fires every night, and the views! You can't beat it. We were able to do some hiking and exploring nearby and enjoy what the area has to offer. We look forward to returning. read more

Nice location on the water and everything a family needs, so it's much like staying at mom's house. It was clean and the owner was very helpful on our short notice reservation. The flat panel TV had Roku with Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, etc so it was a hit with my hard to please teenage son. The main bed could use a new mattress in our Old Man River cottage, and I'd strongly suggest bringing your own water for the coffee machine. The nearby Shell is handy for getting groceries. While I'd say it is kid friendly, I'd be afraid to bring kids between 1 to 5 just because the river is swift and curious kids would be hard to contain. Overall I'd definitely recommend, but expect that grandma's house feel and smell which some may find charming while others may prefer something more cabin like. B&B lovers will enjoy it. read more

Adorable cabin. We stayed in the River Song, which was perfect. Loved having the two masters w/en suites. The view from the deck was spectacular they also provide a Weber grill that was such a pleasure to use. All the comforts and more to make your stay one to remember. Sweet fireplace with easy start up Kindling, they keep the wood box for you full on the front porch.!! Also, I want to give some praise to the Mang, Jean !!! What a doll, so helpful and kind. My only complaints, is that we didn't want to leave .!! Me and my new wife love this place. We stayed in the honeymoon cottage. We originally opted for the "lookout cottage" but I am glad we got to stay in the honeymoon cottage. First and for most. If you go on their website it is really well put together. They have a virtual tour of each cottage very easy to navigate through. Second the customer service is awesome. We first talked to Jean to reserve. Super friendly. When we got here. Christa checked us in. She was super helpful and knowledgeable about the area if you're not familiar with the Wilamette area. She handed us a book on the different trails around here and also a flyer on a river rafting service. Even told us if no one is renting the next day there was no rush to Check out. So five stars for Christa. Now the review on the cottage. This place had everything. Pots, pans, slow cooker, steak seasoning, propane grill, fans because it got really hot here. All the cottages are next to the river so you can leave the windows open and let the cool breeze from the river cool you down. The honeymoon cottage had an awesome patio overlooking the river where you can sit back and enjoy the sounds of nature. It's so beautiful here. We will be back definitely. read more

What a gem this is along the McKenzie River. We stayed in the Rainbow cottage. It's really more of a rustic cabin in my opinion. With a reservation, the check in involves finding your cottage, letting yourself in, and finding your key on the table. Music was playing thanks to their Dish Network connection. The wifi password is in the binder of info on the table. This cottage is right on the river with a gas BBQ and outdoor furniture. It also had a full kitchen. It might not be for everyone (thus the 4, not 5 stars). It's almost like you're borrowing your Aunt Betty's cabin for the weekend. Homey with decor touches that are appropriate to your cabin, but may not be in everyone's taste. And, there is no dishwasher. If you're a bit of a germaphobe like me, you may start looking at the dishes suspiciously and wondering if the last person used enough soap. The kitchen is stocked with a variety of kitchen items that have been accumulated over the years. Again, like you've borrowed the place for a few days. It is my understanding that each cottage is individually owned, so other cottages may have different personalities. Their website offers video tours of each place. The one for ours was very accurate and gave us a great idea of what to expect. That is probably the case for other cottages, as well. I would go back. The area is beautiful and it was a great place to visit. read more

By far the best cabin I've ever stayed in! Very, very nice. Jeanne and her staff were awesome from start to finish! We arrived late at night to find our cabin already warm with the lights on awaiting our arrival! We stayed in the Shady Rest cabin, cabin had everything we needed and more! Cabins are literally right on the McKenzie River! Post card setting with many hiking trails and waterfalls​ nearby! My family and I absolutely love this place! Can't wait to come back. Our stay at he Shady Rest was fabulous. A wonderfully decorated cabin with all the trimmings. Even has a hand mirror in the bathroom for us older women who need a big magnification to see to put our makeup on, or pull whiskers. I was impressed. Coffee beans and a grinder supplied as well. Over and above. Loved it. The river is beautiful there. Watched little birds dipping down after bugs sipping great coffee and eating the infamous crumb doughnuts from Sisters Bakery. read more

I LAAAA LAAA LOVE this place! What a gem. BF and I call it the love shack. We arrived pretty late and were fortunate enough that there were cabins still available! The lady that worked there was extremely lovely and accommodating. Her office was a bit too warm and smelled of bleach, but she was cleaning and it was cold out, so I don't blame her. It was a bit on the pricier side, but for the view and the experience it was worth it. I loved having a balcony with a river view. It was so peaceful and lovely to look at. I was absolutely in love with the shower curtains, and loved and appreciated how there were tons of extra towels in the bathroom (not that they were needed, but it's nice not having to ask for more in the event that more was actually needed). The little kitchen was super cute...extremely tiny, but doable. Utensils and all of that were available and the coffee was bomb dot com (had to grind it ourselves in the wee early hours of the morning, but worth it). The bed was nice and firm with comfy sheets and blankies...I can go on and on, but point is I loved it here and if I get the chance to be in the area again, I'll come back in a heartbeat. It was a bit cold here and the heater didn't do much in my opinion, but luckily there was a cute little fireplace available for use. Also, it was fantastic how we didn't have to check out at a specific time the next day since no one reserved it for the night. Okay, I'm done showing love now :) read more

We have to start by saying a huge thank you to Jeanne for making our stay wonderful!!! Our first night we stayed in the Shady Rest cottage, which the amenities and décor were magnificent. The second night we stayed in the Little Cottage and it was also beautiful and very cozy. We were so impressed with the cottages and the manager Jeanne who was very sweet & personable that we instantly became good friends. So we booked 2 more nights the following week and stayed in the Old Man River cottage which was very a beautiful studio which hung over the McKenzie River. A beautiful setting for an outstanding cluster of perfect cottages. My stay was with a large party in multiple cottages, followed by a 2-couple stay in the Big Rainbow cottage to enjoy surrounding recreational opportunities. All experiences were of the highest order. Cottages are in superior condition with full amenities provided. On-site management is excellent. This is a many-times-repeated-annual event that has always been perfect. Wi-fi and conveniences all work well and any additional necessities (groceries, fun tavern/restaurant) are moments away. Nearby golf course provides ample challenges; 1/2-day rafting excursions pull out of the river on the cottage property with lots of parking. Can't say enough about how nice this is. We'll be repeat guests time and again. River lodging at its very best! read more
