On the plus side there is a small ($20?) cleaning deposit but no "1st & last month's rent", etc. so move-in is affordable. Rent is about average for the area. The rooms are fully furnished including a TV, mini fridge and microwave. The common rooms are comfortable. On the minus side, the kitchen and laundry are closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and when the house is full, 5 guys share a bathroom. The location is convenient: you can walk to the downtown area (U of O is a hike, but easy to reach on the excellent bus service); the house is on the major west-bound route with a bus stop almost out front. There is a good wi-fi connection for your pc and mobile devices. The owners live here, so maintenance problems are quickly taken care of. Street parking is available.

I felt safe and had the amenities of a house and was right next to a bus stop which was awesome. I was invited to eat dinner with Kip and Susy twice and it was very good and only $5. Both meals (Pasta and salad and french bread, and a Panamenian rice dish with chicken) were super good. Mr. Rice made a cake one night and shared it will all the guests which I thought was very sweet. The other guests were older and nice, one man was a writer who was very interesting. It was 100 times better than the hostels in Eugene and Portland. All in all, a very nice visit to Eugene. I will stay here again next time i come through.

Its in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood not far from the OSU campus. This home had all the amenities you would need for a week long stay - fully amenitized kitchen, huge backyard, plenty of room to spread out after a long day of adventure. In addition, the owner will stock light snacks and breakfast items in the kitchen to get your day started, which was a nice touch. Home was spotless and everything worked as advertised. We will use Fernwood again in our travels to the OSU area!

When we arrived we were very pleased with the warmth and pristine condition of the home, its location at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and the overall attention to detail. We appreciated the many thoughtful touches, from the decor to the furnishings to all the little things you need in the kitchen and restrooms to settle right in. The backyard was perfect for our two young children. Alexandra, the property manager, was attentive and easy to work with. Highly recommended!

I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off.

We knew we wanted to stay in the Willamette wine country and just randomly decided on staying in the city of Corvallis. We found this guest house on vrbo.com and called up & immediately booked it. The plus is, they accepted our dogs too, which was great! We stayed in the lower "flat" of the house, with it's own little covered porch area with comfy couch & chair overlooking the family's own christmas tree farm. We met Dale immediately upon arrival and he greeted us very warmly and we felt right at home. The flat has 2 bedrooms with queen ( I think) sized beds in both rooms and with great decor, a lovely at-home feel and Dale has all kinds of beautiful pottery he has made, scattered throughout the flat. A nice kitchen and big dining area to suit any sort of entertaining for around 8 people. We had been camping for 4 days before so coming into a nice home like this was perfect timing for us! The bed we slept in was really comfy as well. The location is pretty good-right near Oregon State University and just a short drive to several wineries around Corvallis. Cardwell Hill Cellars is wonderful and just a quick 10 minute drive away. Also, this house has laundry facilities, which is great!! We will definitely be coming back here. The warm hospitality from Dale and the coziness of the property were enough to make me want to stay there for a week! Unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights, but it was a wonderful stay! I would highly recommend to anyone!!

It is a rustic setting with ALL the comforts of home. The view from the deck cantilevered over the North Umpqua River can be found on post cards. There is a path leading directly below the cabins to a private sparkling clear swimming/fishing hole. Bring your goggles to see salmon and steelhead if you are swimming. Bring your fishing pole if you want to catch your dinner. If you forgot something or need groceries, the Idleyld Trading Post Deli & Liquor Store is 200 feet from your cabin door. The short driveway down to the cabins is steep. Most folks first look at it before driving down to the cabins. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The road was hot and dry so entering this home and coming immediately face to face with the Umpqua river directly outside the cabin was a wonderful beginning. We grabbed our stuff out of the car and then beer for the hubby, wine for me, and headed out to the deck. We spent a good amount of time over the days just chilling at that spot. The cabin (house) itself has all the amenities you need. It's got a rustic feel to it that Randy (the owner) then adds little luxuries to, such as robes, fluffy towels, soft sheets, bottle of wine, and even chocolates by your bedside. The bed is comfy, the place is quiet, the kitchen is stocked, and there's even a gas grill should you want to barbeque on the deck. The location has a restaurant 3 miles away which serves awesome meals even though you are in a tiny town. You are near highway 138 so you can head to all the waterfalls surrounding the area and take a hike. We went to Deadline Falls (5 miles from the house) and watched the steelhead jumping. There are eagles and other birds of prey hanging around. Crater Lake is about 70 miles one way. It's truly a lovely place to go on vacation. NOTE: No wifi and no cell service in the house. There are places close by that you can get these services but to me it would have been an intrusion.
