I just switched to Unlimited Tan from LA tan. This location offers a wider selection of beds, is always clean, and the girls working have been very nice. Prices are the best I've been able to find in the area, and they also offer cryo therapy. I just wish there was more locations like LA tan has. read more

I've been going to Fox Valley tanning for years and it closed down a few months ago. Haven't been able to find a place I like since until yesterday. Privately owned chain of 9 locations. Great place and the people that work there are so friendly and they explain everything. Prices are great and the specials are nice as well. Will be going back here more often! read more

I've been going to the Naperville location for a number of years. I don't usually review but the staffing situation is bothering me as there seems to be a pattern which is this: this location seems to have a hard time maintaining managers and staff. A new manager will be hired. If she is nice and the staff likes her all is well until she leaves in 4 to 6 months. Then the new manager hired is snotty and b**chy not only to staff but also to customers. This new manager will fire an awesome employee for "underperforming". The definition of "underperforming" is "how much ridiculously expensive/overpriced tanning products can they sell". First of all, it seems like a stupid way to rate a staff member who does a great job keeping the place clean, well stocked, works hard and is friendly. So then they are understaffed and the 2 people left are overworked. This manager will soon leave and a new, nicer, competent manager is hired. She then hires more people who again are hard working, do a great job and are nice. She then leaves and the cycle starts again. New snotty, b**chy manager who fires the good people..... Other than this I like this salon. They have a great selection of beds and the spray tan booth is decent. read more

Went in last night and requested for the owner to call me after this incident happened. Never heard from the owner. Went in about 8:20 pm I was told there was a man who takes a very long time in tanning booth number six. I have encountered this gentleman before and he is in there for an hour for a 15 minute tan. Was told by the attendant that he takes an extremely long time I said isn't there a time limit but they have a stay in that room. He took up to 4 times the usually 15 minute slot. He's charged the same thing I am a month, but rakes up for peoples time. So the tanning attendant said you can go into this other booth we have open but it's $11 more on top of the $50 I pay a month. I was very upset to say the least! Why wasn't this man just asked to hurry up there's others waiting? He should be charged 4 times for his 1 hour tan!!!! I have walked in on a Sunday afternoon and found 1 girl at the desk full out sleeping, filthy dirty tanning booth and left. No masks on that girl. Just like others I have a tight schedule and can wait my turn, but 1 hour for a guy doing who knows what snd filth ummmm NO! Still waiting for the owner to call! Hmmm Seriously if you called you would not have this negative review!!! read more

Update: A manager at another location called me promptly after this was posted, apologized, and will be speaking to the associate. I appreciate the urgency to make it right! Now that's good customer service! Girl working was rude. I just bought a membership yesterday, which I told her. She asked me which bed I would like and I said premium....bc I paid more to have the premium membership. Like why would I want a basic bed if I'm paying extra for premium. Her response was "Well that doesn't really tell me anything. " so I pointed to the 2 beds pictured under the word premium and said "one of these 2 beds. One of the premium beds" so instead of just getting me one of those beds she apparently felt the need to have the last word and say "well when you pay for premium you can go into any of the 7 beds so I didn't know which one you meant" Ok cool. Well you know I just started coming here yesterday so maybe explain it out to a customer instead of being snooty and rude. I am seriously considering canceling this membership already. This is a major thank you to the person who ever thought of laying (and standing) inside of a coffin sized bin filled with lightbulbs...to tan your skin. I came to Ultra Tan in a mad search of finding a reasonable priced place to tan the pasty white skin that has been haunting me more than a ghost clad in a white sheet. Perched in a little lot, it's easily accessible and perfect for making a lunch time pitstop or an out of town jaunt. The first thing to take note of is the cleanliness. As with other tanning salons, it's not uncommon to see dust and have stale air wafting around, but not here. Another thing to take note, the staff. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and get you in and out quickly. Price-wise, I am still shocked by what the monthly dues are. By sticking with the Level 1 conventional beds, a monthly unlimited package is $30. Cheap. Super cheap that will get your body amped and ready to put down for a full on package to really spruce up the sun...er...bulbs. Packages for other levels are equally as cheap and oh so worth it. Take a minute and go through which Level works best for you, guaranteed you will find a package that beats the conventional. I mean, it's about keeping your body bronzed and sexy. If you've forgotten your lotions, there's a plethora of types of all different levels that will amplify the bulbs and get you to that perfect shade. So happy to have made the move over to Ultra Tan which has become my 15 minute ritual to a fantasy Bahamas vacay. read more

Was kind of disappointed at the services here. I wasn't near my local salon and they advertised a spray tan special. All they offered was the original versaspa, where I normally do the versapro. I did a level 2 and barely got any color. The employee didn't show me how to use the equipment, I have never used the old versaspa. My arms had lines down them for the 2 days I had color. I would recommend, if you spray tan, DO YOUR RESEARCH! I'm just thank you my tan only lasted a couple of days since it was awful. I'm use to a perfect one that atleast lasts a week. I came here with my sister to get one last fake n bake in before vacation. This place is NICE. REALLY NICE. And cheaper than LA Tan! Their level 1 beds are the most intense high tech level 1 beds I've ever been in. Really clean, really pretty, high tech tanning salon. You can get 30 tans for $30. They have level 1 beds with separate face tanners. I guess this isn't impressive if you are a professional tanner, but I only do this once a year. Though, the intense beds aren't really designed well with the rooms they built them in. There isn't any room for ventilation, so even on high fans, it's still an oven. I decided to come here as we have a trip coming up and in the past I've always gone to LA Tan in Lisle and have had the worst experiences. I am SO happy I came here. The beds and overall cleanliness of the store is 100x better than LA. The staff here (I've had exposure to 2 girls) is professional and willing to help. They're knowledgeable about what the best option is instead of just trying to make you pay as much as possible. I would rather drive 30 minutes out of my way to come here than swing by LA Tan on my way home. Definitely recommend! read more

The salon is clean, the spray room is set up with all the things you need including hair nets, lotion, & wipes, and the employees are friendly. I was nervous when they switched from Ultra Tan to Unlimited Tan but I couldn't be happier with the change. Most of the staff stayed - who are all great. The new 'membership' plans save you a lot of money and are much more flexible. The beds here are WAY better than LA tan. This is a good place if you're on a budget. It's clean and the staff is friendly. But it's very very basic. The rooms have no amenities- no baby wipes (they do have one tiny alcohol wipe, like you get in a restaurant but never want to use on your skin), no deodorant, not even little trash cans. And one employee put me in a level 3 bed on my third visit, not a good idea. I asked about it, said I have only done a level 2, she said they are the same. She just didn't know what she was doing. I prefer employees to be knowledgeable. If you can afford a nicer place, go somewhere else. But this is good enough for the cost. read more

I came in a bit skeptical but my spray tan turned out better than I expected. It's the perfect color and I got level 2 which was recommended for me. The only things I didn't really like was the smell of the solution and the stickiness which couldn't be helped so it's fine. The ladies at the desk were helpful. Watch what you sign at this place. Cancelled because Dr told me tanning beds are what caused my precancerous legion on my leg. I cancelled and never received a copy of cancellation. I love this place. I have been to so many tanning salons and this is the one I've decided to go to for the past 3 years or so. The beds are really good, the bulbs are always hot and I get a good tan. You can choose the amount of minutes you want to go in the bed, and they charge you according to how many minutes you want. I also like that the people who work there don't push you to buy a package or lotion, and most of them are really friendly. Overall, I just really like this place. read more

I did a spray on tan a couple of weeks ago and it was a NIGHTMARE!!!! I saw VERY little tan, except on my hands, which were so dark it looked like I had a skin disease. I followed the instructions to the letter of putting the lotion-like stuff on my hands before gong in. I am very fair skinned and was looking to get some color before my son's wedding. However, what I got was a world of misery trying to get the tanner off my hands. It took days and numerous layers of skins. I even bought a product made to revove self tanner. DO NOT use Ultra Tan. I stopped going here because gas prices, went to LA Tan and there is just no comparison...... spent $100 at LA and I am white.....so just went back to Ultra last night because I never looked better. The bed's here are so clean and the bulbs WORK.....the customer service is awesome as well!! Screw the gas prices, I like looking TAN.... and the price is just right!!!
