Believe it or not. I'm not this tan naturally. Yes, I know... I can hear you gasping in disbelief as you read this right now and saying to yourself, "Mr Beautiful! Say it ain't so!", but in order to maintain this color all year round I must visit the tanning salon for a melanin enhancing session in the nude from time to time. I've been to other LA Tan salons as well as other various tanning salons and I like the staff here more than at some of the other places. Customer service is most important to me and I've seen the staff here practice great customer service by welcoming the melanin challenged and answering their questions. I like this LA Tan salon. Too bad for them that the nice weather is here. I won't be gracing them with my presence as much. But don't feel too bad for them, I'll return for regular visits in the fall and winter. For now, I'll be back for more 12 Minute Naked Juke Fests in the standing beds, as needed, throughout the summer to make sure my a$$ is as tan as my face. Holla!!!™ read more

The staff here is among the absolute worst of all the LA Tan shops I have been to. They don't talk to you, barely fake a smile, and one time- very ungracefully-accused me of faking and using my sisters account- since we have the last name in their computer systems and I guess that is rare. Ever since then I have had to sign in by using their 'finger print' machine like I am a criminal. WOW. They need to do some major overhauling with the staff's attitudes as management at this location only magnifies the problem. I used to stop at this location on my way home from class but thankfully found a different route home, at a different LA Tan location. read more

I typically go closer to my office - Geneva or St Charles, but it was Sunday and Winfield is close by, so I gave it a try. This salon is very dated & a little dingy. Feels a bit creepy with the dim lighting, flickering neon sign & tiny front counter. The girl who checked me in was was nice enough and it appeared that I was the only customer there. Went for a level 3 bed and was directed to a room all the way in back. Sad to say, it is not just the decor that is dated. This bed must've been a decade old with wires loosely hanging from the ceiling & taped together to keep this dinosaur running. That said, the bed did the job, lights were intense & I stopped before my 10 minutes were up to avoid burning. On my way out, there was no one around to thank me or say goodbye, so off I went. I will not likely return to this location. I'll stay with the clean, bright, modern locations in Geneva & St Charles. read more

The woman I dealt with was wonderful, however I was highly disappointed in the level 5 bed. It was falling apart basically, some of the bulbs didn't work and it was just all around a bad time. No towel in the room, it was just uncomfortable. Level 5 should never be like that. I just wanted a nice tanning experience and I felt like I didn't even tan yesterday, never coming back. read more

Went in today and had issues with my account so I wouldn't be able to tan until the owner could come in. But Desiree was amazing at trying to figure out what we could do she spent ten minutes looking into my account and calling people before she took my number and said she would call me once everything is fixed and before I could even pull out of the parking lot she called me to tell me everything was taken care of! I am not too picky about most tanning salons as long as they have stand up beds. The lowest level beds are moderately cheap and I love that I can pay minute by minute instead of picking from set times. The higher beds are a little pricey. The one thing I don't like is that all tanning salons are supposed to ask you about your skin and how dark you want to be. Any advice on the web says that the first thing they should ask you is your skin type. I was never asked about that. I was an experienced tanner so my first visit was in the lowest level for a short time. But I can imagine a new person going in and when they suggest their higher beds to make money that person will be burned. I received a free tan on the level 3 bed for 10 minutes along with a sample of their higher priced lotions. It was great I didn't burn and I could see the tan. I went a few days later and asked for the same. And I burned bad. The regular counter lady saw me the next day and asked if I was in the sun all day. When I told her, she expressed her apologies on behalf of the salon and then said she would have advised me not to do that if she were there. I love tanning salons but it's not just la tan. All of them should train and educate their employees to help customers instead of worrying about getting the most money out of them. In the last few months, this place has really fallen off. They seem to have trouble opening on time and keeping the lower level beds full operational. That means you have to wait for the only other bed or you could pay more to upgrade. Today the problem was with their computer and now none of the beds worked. they told me to call ahead, next time. Two weeks ago, I contacted their home office, who was very sorry and was promised contact from the district manager. I pay a monthly fee to use their facility, which I can only do when their equipment is operational. I'm still waiting for some sort of contact, but at this point I'm canceling my membership. The girls there are very nice and are probably doing the best they can. And, the place is very clean. This is an management issue. The equipment is falling apart. With all the other salons in the area, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time and money on this one. read more

The manager here is HORRIBLE. Her name is Angie, and I saw in another review someone complaining about her.She is so rude and leaves girls working alone when they are new and don't yet know what they are doing. She always has an attitude with me, and I've written several complaints to corporate. I have heard from them that she has other complaints about attitude towards customers. Tonight she told me that "I could never tan at LA tan again" because I wouldn't pay a fee that I had no idea what it was for, and she couldn't tell me. Clean and spacious, but the LA Tan in Warrenville closed so it took time before I was able to get to Winfield to tan and I had 48 dollars left on my acccount which they said expired, but would re-credit them to my account. They never did as I called today and girl has NO idea what I was talking about. Said manager would call me. Guess we'll see. Ugh! read more
