Dismissive and unhelpful the entire time. I had to ask for after-care instructions. If you've ever seen the Courtney Michelle Dlugos TikTok series about the employee who doesn't care if you live or unalive yourself, this is the girl behind the counter at this location. Sounds vain, I know, but I spend a good part of my day in workout clothes and shorts, and I don't like to shine like a beacon in the night. However, I'm not a big fan of tanning beds anymore since several friends who were bed users got skin cancer. So instead, I head to Absolute Color for some fake tanning! They are a small clean little establishment, offering 1 mystic tanning booth and 1 tanning bed. It's a couple of blocks from my house, so it's quite convenient, although the price of $25 per tan is probably not the best out there - it is $20 all day on Saturdays. Their machine is always in working condition, and the facility is clean. I took off a couple of stars because their hours last year were not always reliable, and I would go there when they were supposed to be open and there were already closed. That happened a couple of times, but I guess that's what happens when you've got teenagers running the place! Warning: make sure to listen to the directions that the machine gives you - I almost ended up like Ross in the hysterical "Friends" episode my first time - so listen and turn!

While there I bought and used the $10 primer packet all over, used the hand lotion as instructed, stood in the booth EXACTLY as the associate showed me, cleaned up after as I was instructed, wore loose clothing and did no sweaty activity for 18 hours. Monday morning - By the time I woke up the next day, my tan was crazy dark on my face compared to my body, uneven on my legs and arms, and you can see droplets all over my hands, legs, etc. I fixed with at home with a mitt and Bondi Sands on my arms and legs, and it looked as I'd hoped, except for my hands where it still has spray droplets that can't seem to be evened out. Little to no sweating and staying moisturized. Wednesday afternoon - I have orange patches in some spots, my hands are still spotty, and a square inch patch on my chest has rubbed off. Little to no sweating and staying moisturized still. I've gotten spray tans before and this has never happened elsewhere. I did *everything* I was supposed to do and this tan is crap. I've used Jergens and Bondi Sands at home that have worked better than whatever garbage LA Tan uses. I completely regret buying a 4 spray tan package. What a waste of money.

The staff at Mokena are the most rude (one in particular) I've ever met. They won't give a refund, even if the people behind the counter mistreat you. Their "corporate" called to try and rectify what happened and told me I was right, but still wouldn't give me a refund when in the history have you ever heard such nonsense? I will be telling every single person I know to never go here ever they steal your money they give you faulty products and they treat you like absolute crap. Wow, just wow is all I have to say about this horrible horrible entity. my husband is 64 years old and they refused to let them tan because the information in their system was faulty and we had paid for a full month of tanning and we were only halfway through the month. Don't subject yourself to this time waste ! Do not give them your money. Go tan somewhere else.
