I found this tanning salon from a Groupon and they were not snobby or rude at all about using a discount (some places are). They also have a nice referral program. I like that they offer a lot of tan shades. If you are on the pale side I would highly suggest the medium-light shade. My tans always come out pretty even and natural looking. I definitely feel more confident wearing white when I have a nice light tan. If I'm tanning for a Saturday I prefer to go on Wednesday for it to look the most natural, Thursday wouldn't be bad either it's just very dark for any event I have on Friday. Make sure to follow all of their helpful guidelines they email you so that you can have the best tan possible, the tips really do make a difference. I also like that they don't try to upsell you stuff while you are there. They will only suggest something if you ask or it makes sense. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone for any occasion but you can definitely trust them for your big life events!

Feeling a little pastey these days? Every year about this time, every vestige of my summer tan…read morecompletely fades and I am left with pastey white skin. Sounds vain, I know, but I spend a good part of my day in workout clothes and shorts, and I don't like to shine like a beacon in the night. However, I'm not a big fan of tanning beds anymore since several friends who were bed users got skin cancer. So instead, I head to Absolute Color for some fake tanning! They are a small clean little establishment, offering 1 mystic tanning booth and 1 tanning bed. It's a couple of blocks from my house, so it's quite convenient, although the price of $25 per tan is probably not the best out there - it is $20 all day on Saturdays. Their machine is always in working condition, and the facility is clean. I took off a couple of stars because their hours last year were not always reliable, and I would go there when they were supposed to be open and there were already closed. That happened a couple of times, but I guess that's what happens when you've got teenagers running the place! Warning: make sure to listen to the directions that the machine gives you - I almost ended up like Ross in the hysterical "Friends" episode my first time - so listen and turn!
