Always a pleasant interaction with the staff here! They never push lotion sales onto you or upsell you, which is nice compared to some of the locations. The beds are always sanitary, bulbs are bright and functioning. I have never had to wait, even on crazy 5$ Tuesdays! read more

It's probably a big shame that I have 337 check-ins here but even worse is the number of times I've been here is way more than that. I'm always forgetting to check in! Rest easy tigers, as I only do the spray tanning. I don't get all of the cancer rays and stuff, just chemicals sprayed onto my skin for the illusion of such an experience. This particular LA Tan is my jam. All the ladies (and sometimes a random fella or the owner dude) know me, so before I even walk in the door they have things all set for me and always ask, "The usual?" And then all I need to do is scan my finger and I'm good to go. It's my Cheers of tanning. A few years ago, they told me some chick came in trying to say she was me and get in on my tanning package. B!@#$ please, they know me up in hea! Nice try, weirdo. On that note, I have an awesome package that allows me an unlimited amount of sprays per month...love it! I was all in love with the VersaSpa here and just in the past week they got a VERSASPA PRO! Yea, huh. It's pro folks. I gave it a go today and man, is it amazing. It's a marvel in modern machinery. It takes a bit longer than the VersaSpa but it's well worth. It starts you off with the tan developing spray, then dries you off with amazing heated dryers, then does a bronzing spray if you want that, then heated dry again, and finally a moisturizing spray (that's new!!!) and another round of heated drying. I love the heat...love how dry it gets me - no towels are even needed - and love the moisturizer! I even would venture to say the Level 3 got me a smidge darker than usual. My, how spray tanning has evolved since I was a teenager! My pale face is so very thankful for LA Tan and it's many wonders! read more

OLD BULBS. I won't go back to this location. I used to go to the Lombard location and never had any issues. I bought a package at this location because I needed to get a base tan before I went to Florida. My 1st session I did 6 minutes in a level 2 stand up and all I felt was air blowing on me. No heat. The 2nd day I thought I'd do 7 minutes in a level 3 stand up. Again, all wind, no heat, and not even a shadow of color change. When I used to do level 3 in Lombard, the heat was pretty intense after 4 minutes and I definitely got some color. So on my 3rd day, I went to Lombard again and as expected, I felt the heat and got some nice color in a level 3 after 6 minutes. As far as I'm concerned this location owes me two sessions that I got ripped off for. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the girls who work there are nice. read more

Any time I go in the evening, there is this god awful female working there. She is always unpleasant and reeks of entitlement. Today was the worst. Asked her a simple question and she acted like I attacked her and when my face reacted to her bizarre behavior she demanded I don't disrespect her. Then we were off to the races. I frequent different LA Tans to get a Versa spray tan. I happened to be in the Schaumburg area and went to the Roselle Rd location today. I needed a new spray tan package, so I opted for the package posted on the front desk(also posted BEHIND the desk AND on the front door), 10 spray tans for $120. As the girl was about to ring me up, she said, "Oh, that price is wrong, it's supposed to be $180" The manager/owner of this location was also behind the desk and he quickly grabbed the sign to change the price. I told them that they needed to honor the posted price. The mgr, said " UMMM NO" I wasn't going to make a stink about it, but was completely DISGUSTED by their reaction to THEIR MISTAKE I proceeded to my spray tan, and when I was leaving I snapped a photo of the price list STILL POSTED on the front door. The girl at the desk saw me taking a photo and literally RAN TO THE DOOR TO TAKE THE PRICE LIST DOWN. They should of honored the POSTED price. Tanning. Ugh. First, before anyone starts in on me, I only spray-tanned, no UV stuff. I already look old as f*ck and I defo don't need all that wrinkling more ish on my mug. I know it's terrible and totally unnecessary but if it makes it any better, like I said, I only came here for the spray-tanning thing, which is probably still terrible and made of poison or who knows but I was sick for like, 2 months straight and couldn't shake the pale green look from my skin before a big New Years Eve event I was working, so I came in for a few VersaSpa sessions. I was satisfied enough with the result, but it's certainly not as accurate as being sprayed by a real person... also, it can have a tendency to make you break out, so weigh out that scenario of whether you'd rather be tan and zit-y or pale with a better complexion. This facility seems like it has a ton of regular UV beds, just one VersaSpa, but the line tends to move quickly, unless it's the eve of a holiday or something -- then you might be here waiting for hours. The place is clean enough, but it seems to always be under construction in some way and i don't trust that the doors actually lock, and that's scary because I prefer people to not walk in on me naked, wearing a mesh showercap, with white cream on my hands and feet and dripping brown sticky. Again, that's just my preference, no offense if that is your thing. so far, no one has walked in on me, or at least if they have they were quiet about it. The staff here are really friendly and helpful and not at all b*tchy like you might image at a tanning place and the prices here are better than the other spray place up the road, which looks a bit nicer but also has crankier employees. Last note: Every single time I've ever come here there's a near-collision from people pulling out while talking on their phones. Be careful. Also the guy who manages it has the same voice as Aziz Ansari... which amuses me to no end. read more

I switched jobs and I've been passing by this location for a few weeks, but still going to a different la tan kind of out of my way... today I decided to try this one out and I was really pleased! It's so clean, which is so important right now. I was pleasantly greeted. The decor is cute. The room numbers are facing out, so you can see them all from the end of the hallway, you know exactly which room you're going to.... a nice thoughtful detail for first time guests. I went to this location yesterday for the first time. I was greeted right away, everyone was very friendly. I chose to do the lightest option spray tan (this was my first time ever tanning), so I didn't know what to expect. The woman that checked me in walked me to my tanning room, she was very sweet. She explained each step to me and said if I need any assistance to not hesitate to call for help. It was a very smooth experience and I recommend others to go to this location as well. read more

OK I just wanna start off by saying- I've been spray tanning for about 10 years now with LA tan and I have never been to a location this nice! The decor was amazing, the spray tan room was large, welcoming and had toiletries! Let's just say that I live about 3 minutes away from this location, and I avoid it at all costs. There's another girl with a similar situation and it just shows that there's a pattern of shotty customer service. I walked in carrying a bottle of lotion I bought on amazon and asked for my usual bed. A girl who is fairly new (bigger girl, pretty, darker skin, dark hair) said "Hey! I noticed that bottle of lotion isn't on your account!? Did you buy it online because we seriously recommend against that. They are probably diluting it, blah blah" Mind your own business, lady! I'm not spending $100 on lotion! Whatever, I politely told her to lay off and was put into the room right behind the front counter. I heard the same girl try to pressure a girl into buying a package who just wanted to tan for the day. I understand the upselling aspect of sales and whatnot but dear god, lay the f off. Also, if I come in after not tanning for a few days and the manger/owner is working, he peeks over the girls' shoulder and says "uhhh you should probably do this instead" listen buddy I know you got new bulbs or whatever (6 months ago...) but I know my skin and my body so again, lay off. If I can, I park my car right up by the front window and try to see if either of these 2 are working. If they are, I leave. I don't have any problems with any other employee but those 2 are annoying enough to avoid this location. I love the Bloomington location on lake and the one on golf!! read more

This is by far my favorite L.A. I live 3 minutes from another one but make the extra drive to this location. The owner, is always so informative on the beds and lotions when I have questions. The girls who usually check me in are nice and accommodating. The salon also just went under a new, clean remodel and got a new AWESOME bed, that none of the other salons have in the area! It USE to be the best tanning salon around. The customer service has just gone down the drain and the staff is such a disappointment! I have been tanning seasonally since I was in high school (when it was still legal with parent's consent) and the atmosphere was fantastic! The staff took the time to get to know me and my tanning preferences. They would always work with me to make sure I completely understood what they were selling me and that I was completely happy with my purchase. Now they couldn't careless. I brought this to the attention to the owner and he told me it was basically my own fault for being ignorant. Like I'm supposed to have his packages memorized. What a joke! I get it...vampish is normal here in Chill-cagoland, but my freckles were even starting to fade. First, I did my research and found a $50 credit coupon on the L.A. Tan website... Print that off right quick...Check. Map this baby out on the trusty iPhone...Check. Prepare to be glared at by sun-kissed (correction..."sun-drenched with some tongue choking") young females...Check. Seriously, a glare alone could have pierced the pigment-void membrane I had been calling skin all winter... BUT, I was willing to walk in there and take the 'heat' (mostly because otherwise my white ass would be burned to a crisp as soon as I set foot off the plane in the Sunshine State). Let's pretend tho that I was doing this all for some other more noble cause, k? (wink, wink) ANYwhooo...I was actually surprised to find that the ladies (while so disturbingly tan that my skin actually hurt for them) here were very professional and nice! They were all concerned about my lack of skin tone and each made sure I was in a lower-level bed and not going for too much time. They also double check you have the proper safety gear: eye protection and a lotion of some sort (gimmick maybe, but whatever). In a nutshell: I got in quickly each time. The beds were always clean. The bulbs worked well. AND, there was no annoying up-selling of products each visit. PLUS I got 5 separate visits absolutely FREE! That $50 coupon certainly paid off. Oh, and the base tan paid off as well...although, I still technically got burnt, it quickly turned into a tan and has stayed that way! read more

I used to go here all the time when I lived in Schaumburg, recently there is some new owner which I didn't mind until.. one day he was there and noticed that I haven't purchased lotion through LA Tan in a while. I understand that buying lotion online might be sketchy but paying $40 for Designer Skin Lotion is better than $120 at location and so far I haven't received a faulty bottle through Amazon. Well anyway he calls me out in front of other customers how it's people like me that are causing his business to lose money because we don't buy his overpriced products. I do not go to work 9 hours a day just to buy a $120 bottle of lotion so the owner can be happy! That was extremely rude and embarrassing. I stopped going there after that day and went to the other location on Golf instead. At least the Golf location always has clean towels available as well. read more

I came in 2 days before my wedding and asked the owner about what my options were to get some color as I am VERY pale. He was so informative and polite. I was guided to which bed and which lotion would work best for my skin color and optimal results. The staff there was quick to clean up the room after I finished which was nice to know they were on top of it. You can tell they take pride in their job and want to keep the equipment in top shape. I was excited that this location had the Versaspa sunless spray booth. I have used it before at other tanning salons and have never had a problem. At this salon, the solution is obviously diluted or a generic version used. I've used it 3x at this LA Tan and 2x I got absolutely NO color and the third minimal color-all were level 2. I complained but the owner blamed me. I will NEVER go back or recommend this place. The other LATan on Golf is so much cleaner, and I've never had a problem there with the Versaspa. read more

Owner is extra polite & respectful. The other staff members are also great. Anna recommends products to me without being pushy. They offer the choice of the Versa spa pro and also the more traditional versa spa. The versa spa pro level 5 sprays you twice, and dries you with warm air after each pass. I've been coming here for just over 5 years now. I have been to other salons and they just don't compare to this one. Whenever I did have an issue, Rueben immediately fixed it. If I wanted a particular lotion, he'd order it for you. He bends over backwards for his customers and it shows. The rooms are very clean as are the beds and spray tanning machines. The girls are always polite and genuinely care that you don't get burned and use the right lotions to achieve your best tan possible. I've never had any major issues at this LA Tan which is why I continue to go there. Also, they usually have the latest lotions (I say usually in case the product is back ordered) and cool finds as well. Bottom line, it's very clean, the owner and girls are polite and helpful and they have a variety of lotions. read more

OMG Where to start? I am soo upset. Yesterday was the $3 tan and i decided to go all the way to schaumburg to check out the store. I was in a hurry so when i walked in i let the guy know that i am really in a hurry. He kept trying to sell me so many things. Then finally he put me in a bed and i wanted to pay with my card (I dont carry cash) and he told me its impossible because they have $8 limit.
