Irish girl with tan legs?? Say what?! Not orange? Not dirty looking? Looks natural? Yes, Ma'am/Sir. Never a mystic tan again. Until you shower, do not sleep on white sheets with even your feet exposed as I did. Not if you like your sheets. Stay out of the water as much as possible if you want the tan to last. One of the benefits to going back is that you can customize your color better. The 2nd time around, I decided to go a shade lighter. Then last time, I decided to go a shade darker on my legs but keep my face lighter. --The benefit of airbrushing is that it's totally customized vs a spray booth that only does "one size fits all". Also, don't forget there's parking in back. I have illegally parked back there on several occasions (creating new parking spaces ;) ), but last time I was starting to park illegally, I saw cops issuing parking tickets. Phew! OK: My sister surprised me with a trip to Florida with one caveat: This pale irish mess had to be spray tanned before arriving. So, with just about 48 hrs to find a place, I found the very highly reviewed Spray Tan Evolution. They were extremely accommodating over the phone and even went so far to call one of their regulars to see if they could move their appointment so they could fit me in, on a late evening after work. John was super friendly, gave me lots of great tips on how to prepare (really explained everything and took the time!), put me at ease about the process, had me guttural laughing despite being mostly naked in front of a stranger (LOL omg) and did an amazing job. I've never had a spray tan before, so I was nervous, but it looked incredible and I didn't feel self conscious about my tan in florida at ALL! I was concerned about it looking streaky or too orange or unnatural...but it just looked like a healthy glow. John predicted that people would say "Oh, you look good! Did you get a haircut?" and that definitely happened...haha, until they realized it was a tan. Back in August 2016, I attended a back to school pool party - for us moms - at a friend's house while the kids were in school. I Could. Not. Stop admiring my friend's tan. After a couple drinks, she spilled her secret: she was a regular at Spray Tan Evolution. She gave me the number and when I called the next day, they were super patient and answered all of my questions - and I had a lot of questions. I was able to get an appointment that same day by chance and although I was skeptical, (having done spray tan booths in the past and coming out like an Oompa Loompa) I followed the easy pre-tan exfoliation instructions, threw on some super loose clothing, and went in for my first spray tan. The staff at STE is super laid back. I've been back many, many times since August and I've never once felt uncomfortable. I am usually the type of person who likes to pick one person and stick with them, but I've had tans by three different tan artists at STE and they've all been awesome! I am also extremely picky and detail oriented. I even loved my daughter's spray tan when she did one for prom! The rooms (at both locations) are clean and well organised. Music is usually playing (feel free to put in a request!) and the atmosphere feels comfortable. Some pointers: *Wear loose clothing *Bring an umbrella if it's raining *Be sure the doors are on your Jeep if it's raining... *Do the contouring. I was standing up in a wedding and had a light blush dress and didn't want to look washed out but didn't want to look orange either. I couldn't get back to school to go there before my cousins wedding so I frantically tried to find someone in the Chicagoland area to spray me. Totally thrilled with the results of this place! Nothing like those stupid booths at LA Tan. It's completely personalized to your skin tone and done by a certified tanning airbrush artist. No ugly dark lines along the inside of your fingers and toes or along the bottom of you heels. You can choose lighter on the face and dark on the legs and arms. They can give you a six pack on your stomach, bring out the contours of your arms. Soooo cool! You are required to pick a color from white bottles- no color swatches or sample photos, nor any idea of what the airbrush color will yield. Since I am new, I let the technician pick my color. NO. I had never gotten a spray tan before and wanted to test out this place because I was getting married in April 2015. I went there for my bridal shower which was in February, and HATED the results. I got my spray tan Friday night and by Sunday morning (day of my bridal shower) my legs and arms were ORANGE. I had to change the dress I was wearing to cover my arms and most of my legs - and what was showing of my legs I had to vigorously scrub. Terrible experience and I would never recommend to anyone! In discussing my experience with STE with the other spray tan company I now use, she informed me that STE probably sprayed me too much or used too dark of a color. Pretty frustrating considering I told them this was for my bridal shower and that I was interested in using them for my bachelorette party & wedding if it went well. They charge way too much for the result you get and I found a MUCH better spray tan company in the area that charges HALF of what Spray Tan Evolution does and gives you a more natural look. Also, the owner was extremely rude when I had to reschedule my original spray tan appointment because of the SNOWSTORM we got the day of the Super bowl. The man who runs this is an expert! I used this place to add some color before my wedding. I first set up a test run and was generally happy with the results except for the fact that my wrists got a little darker than I wanted (this was done by an assistant, not the owner). My second time around the owner did the spray tan and it looked flawless! I got a lot of compliments and people asked me where I went on vacation! My skin looks amazing in my wedding pictures. I was going for just a little color, not orange, which is what has happened in the past when using other spray tan solutions. I would also like to point out that evolution has three varieties of shading which are meant for different skin types. I am quite pale so the brown shades really complimented my skin tone. Great place!! I went here to get some color a few days before standing up in my brother's wedding. Susie (not sure if spelled correctly) was awesome! She was very thorough while applying the spray tan and explained everything she was doing as she did it. I love how they spray a moisturizing barrier on your knuckles, wrists and in between your fingers so your hands don't look unnatural or streaky. I also like how I was able to shower only 8 hours afterwards. I've been to places where I had to wait 24 hours....ugh! I have very fair skin and Susie came up with the right formula of color to give me a natural look! They also keep your shade of color on file so you don't have to remember what you had done on your previous visit. I will definitely be going back again! read more

I was interested in getting a spray before heading to Florida for spring break. Michelle was efficient and informative in getting me scheduled. My spray tanner was owner operator John who was really great. He explained everything he was doing and was quick and efficient. I loved the color -- especially on my legs! The tan faded very evenly and I followed all pre and post instructions to a T. I'd say the only downside is waiting the 8 hours to shower off the bronzer....kind of a pain when you have stuff to do and you are walking around in baggy black clothes.
