To update you, my GPS system doesn't work. It won't work when in my maps so I downloaded 1 navigation app, Waze, and that still wasn't working. So I tried my safari browser with google maps which also didn't work. When I got on the internet and asked if my navigation could've been screwed up due to non authentic Apple parts it said yes, the hardware is not compatible with my GPS. Took my phone in for what I thought would be a simple repair. I demonstrated the problem, and the tech took it in the back room, came out a few minutes later and said it was fixed, although he also seemed to imply that I was imagining the problem. He charged me $60. Soon my phone was having the problem again. I took it back, he took it in the back room again, came out a few minutes later and said it was fixed, but also implied that I wasn't pressing the button correctly. I'd had the phone for several years, why would I suddenly not be pressing the button correctly? He told me come back any time, and that he guarantees his work. But I could tell already that the problem wasn't really fixed. Of course the problem came back immediately. Tired of being gaslighted, I took it to a different shop. There, they saw the problem right away, took the phone apart and showed me exactly what was wrong, and fixed it. Wish I would have gone there first. read more

My IPhone froze up and I took it to Universal Wireless Repair for help. They said they had to take the battery out and put it back in and charged me $22. The second time it happened I went back and they took it in the back room for a few minutes and charged me $22. The third time they took it in the back for a couple minutes and charged me $10 if I could pay in cash. The fourth time, I asked my nephew if he knew how to remove the battery and put it back in. He said that was quite a process and asked me what the problem was. I told him and he showed me how to do a hard reboot of the phone and said that was probably what the shop was doing all along. A reputable shop would have shown me how to do that the first time and I would be happy to pay for that. I guess they saw a white haired female and figured I would be an easy mark -- and I was. read more

The employee was friendly & accommodating to me coming in within an hour of closing. My phone screen has been horribly shattered for months--I was under the impression that my selfie camera would also need to be replaced but upon a quick inspection the employee told me that it wouldn't be necessary as long as I got a new screen. In other words: they aren't going to upsell you on unnecessary repair or take advantage of tech ignorance. I brought in a 6th gen iPad with a broken screen, but the digitizer seemed to be working fine through the cracks. Less than 2 hours later, they said it was ready for pick up. Later that evening, I noticed the touches weren't registering properly (they weren't aligned with finger presses), and the following morning, it had stopped working altogether. I brought it back in and a few hours later it was ready for pickup again. This time? Flawless, and no additional charges. The one thing I would say is that the oleophobic coating that you're used to on new devices might not be as prominent on the replacement glass. My LG V10 fried its motherboard after only two years. I took it here and they fixed it for a reasonable price. I was so happy with it, I took in a Samsung tablet to repair as well. I got my iPhone 5s repaired there today, and they were excellent. They're cheap, and the phone hasn't worked this well in a year.

My Note 4 now needs replacing after I had a faulty camera module replaced at this place. They said it wasn't the fault of the camera module they used or the repair, but that there was something failing in the motherboard on my phone. That may or may not be--and I get that smartphones are incredibly complicated and sensitive inside--but look at the before and after scenarios from the customer's point of view: BEFORE: Functioning smartphone with a camera that frequently buzzes/whines/can't focus. AFTER: Smartphone that frequently won't wake up from sleep, meaning you need to pull the battery and restart. Also, there were symptoms of screen burn-in, discoloration, and other visual glitches. Also, the camera's now 100% blurry and thus unusable...all the time. (This was after I tried a factory reset--as suggested by the repairman--to fix it.) I did call before I came by and asked if they could do this specific repair, and they said yes. It's interesting that while he was repairing the phone, he needed to call someone to guide him through 80% of the repair process. Then the phone wouldn't turn on when the repair was finished and they had to keep the phone until the next day and send it to a sister shop to try to resolve it. It did turn on when I picked it up, but now had the other problems above. Not really confidence-inspiring, and one of the reasons their claim that it wasn't their fault is a bit difficult to believe. They did try to make it right, but were just unable to. They seem like ok people, but I would really think twice about anything more complicated than a screen replacement, which seems to be where their positive reviews are coming from on Yelp. If the owners are reading this: in the future, please do your business a favor. Don't promise work that you can't deliver on or don't have experience with. read more

Wow, totally awesome customer service and outstanding repair! I popped the glass in front of the camera on my samsung S9. When I walked in, he said it would be two days to get the repair part. However, he had an S9 and offered to replace my broken glass with his and he would wait ..... 50 bucks! While I was there a women came in to check on here samsung j7 screen. He looked up his order on amazon and Amazon had delayed the delivery by 3 days. He offered, and she accepted, a loaner for the next three days where he swapped the sim cards and she was on her way. I recently came here to get my phone screen fixed on my iPhone X. The reviews seemed good, and they were open when I got off work. It took abut 20 minutes, and when I left everything was fine. I got a free screen protecter too (for leaving them a good review). It wasn't long before my battery started dying really fast, it would shut down from overheating. The screen separated from my phone, and I could see the light coming from where the phone screen should be sealed. I have never had a problem with an iPhone battery, and it isn't used or that old of a phone. So I went in and told them the problem and had them look at it. We argued about it and I told them there is no way that it was my fault and the screen was poorly fixed. They wanted me to pay 40 dollars for the replacement, and I was like no I refuse to do that. The battery turned out to be swollen so they said it would happen again anyway and it isn't their fault. They ended up fixing it for free, but when I went to a different place to get the battery fixed, not only was it another 120 dollars, but they said that the last people who had fixed the screen left the film on the back of it, and punctured the battery and that's what was causing the swelling. It is dangerous to puncture that kind of battery, and I'm lucky it didn't catch on fire. I usually don't even review places, let alone leave a bad one, but the way I was treated was careless and disrespectful. Do not bring your phone here, it's jank. read more
