Arugula Salad with Zesty Lemon Vinaigrette dressing
    Najah H.

I've been here before and if you love Break Pad in East Point, you'll love Universal Joint. It's got a cozy, neighborhood bar feel where you seat yourself. There's an ample sized patio outside to view the street and square across from the restaurant. We had a very pleasant server who helped us with a mocktail order, the menu and regularly checked in. I ordered the Arugula salad and Spicy Eggrolls. The eggrolls are not pictured because they came later but very tasty. It didn't look like the online pictures but was decent. The salad was very tasty and next time I'll add protein. Recommend going with groups, to watch a game or family meal. Casual and good prices in Downtown Decatur.

Patio is so nice & inviting, but my family decided sit inside- little room to the side is not very inviting, but where we sat. Main bar area is nicer & more friendly, not as secluded. Server was the best. He was so funny & on the ball!! Got Lemon Pepper Wings, super crispy but lots of salt. Ranch needs more seasoning, not much flavor. Salad great, but again the ranch... I think the others enjoyed their meals, no complaints. Table of 4 with a split tab & only 1 beer was under $40 plus tip. Here are pics to enjoy

Patty Melt & Arugula salad with Lemon Vinaigrette

Dinner at UJ was good. Burgers, Tacos, Salads and Soups to choose from. I decided to get the Patty Melt with arugula salad. Came out rather quickly, first thing I noticed was the salad was small, but tasted good with their Lemon Vinaigrette. Came with pecans & feta. The patty melt was on a swirled rye bread made traditionally with grilled onions, & Swiss cheese. The burger filled the bread which was great to see. Cooked to a perfect medium. They have a full bar with craft beer. Parking is on the street but was easily found at 8pm.

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love. -Dr. Seuss Too warm today to sit outside, we were at the bar where we were well served. A couple of cold beers went down nicely while we enjoyed the "show." Burger was very good but I should have added chesse. Fries were crispy. [Review 20040 overall - 640 in Georgia - 1015 of 2023.]

Great day to eat inside or outside. Loved the chill vibe of the restaurant, not pretentious. I like the music variety, diverse and fun. Quashaun, our server was amazing! Although all of the restaurants were crowded, there was no wait and the service was quick. My husband's burger and fries were delish. I had the salmon sandwich. Although it was good, it could have used just a little more seasoning or maybe they forgot it, Still a 5 star casual, friendly, chill time.

The area is lovely in the city of Decatur and gives a relaxing vibe. Except for the homeless man walking up begging for money while you're eating and no one asking him to stop. Even when you tell him no he keeps going. Fries were burnt, the loaded fries were hard and horrible, table was very sticky and there's no way they even attempt to keep the bugs out. Ordered no onions for allergy purposes and the food came with onions and scallions. Definitely will not return. Should've went to the many restaurants that I frequent in that area but we wanted to give them a try.

The outdoor area is fantastic; faces the street, has an awesome breeze with a combination of high and low tables. Decent beer menu - a little bit of something for everybody. I wasn't too impressed with the food. I would stick to beer snacks. The kid had the Philly cheesesteak quesadilla (special menu item). It was what it was. I had the beef brisket taco, something was a little weird in it and something was missing. I don't think the flavor combination matched my palate . The beer was served a little warm. It could've been better ...

Brick Store was literally not even 100 feet from where we went for dinner, Iberian Pig. We went upstairs to have a drink. The vibes are super cool inside this pub! In my opinion, this might be one of the best beer pubs that I have ever been to. The upstairs feels very rustic and almost like you're in a castle of some sort. In true fashion, of course I got a glass of Guinness. It was perfect! Our server was super friendly and very attentive. She even provided some suggestions based on what the others were looking for. Her name was Olivia! Brick Store also has a full food menu too, but we just came for drinks. The food menu is tradiitonal pub type food, so fish and chips, chicken pot pie, etc. It honestly looked really good! I will definitely be back here in the future!!

We usually have to circle around to find a spot, and walk to the restaurant. We came by for lunch on a Sunday. I like both the exterior and the interior design of the restaurant. The server was friendly and professional. We ordered drinks and two entrées. There was only one other table besides us, so just two tables total in the restaurant. After our drinks arrived, it took more than 45 minutes for the food to come out. The food itself was delicious. We had the half chicken and the trout. The ingredient quality is high, you can really taste it. However, the wait time was a bit too long, especially considering how empty the restaurant was. Aside from the long wait, everything else was good. I wonder if the delay was because we came shortly after they opened for lunch, but if they're open, the kitchen should be ready. Overall, the food is quite good, though the entree menu is somewhat limited, if excluding the pasta. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth trying. Personally, I'm not sure if I would come back. I'd rather not experience that long wait again, but maybe it was just an off day when I visited.

There was plenty of seating when we were walked in. Parking: This spot is located in downtown Decatur, so there are a variety of paid parking options (street parking, parking decks). Make sure to read the signs as there may be free parking on Sundays. Food: We ordered so much from the menu! Our favorite was the Heirloom Tomatoes, so make sure you grab that. It paired perfectly with the Bread & Butter. We also ordered the Crispy Potatoes, the Cacio e Pepe, and the Rigatoni. We weren't the biggest fans of the Rigatoni. There was what we think were raisins in there, which really threw things off. Drinks: There are so many options from cocktails to wine to beer. We both opted for aperitifs and enjoyed them! Vibe: We really enjoyed the space. It's small and intimate, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Two pieces of battered and fried white fish served with tartar sauce, a tiny scoop of cole slaw, and French fries. My companions had chicken wings, vegetarian chili, and poutine. The chili was fantastic, and I heard good things about the chicken, but the poutine was a pass. The cafe is reasonably large, with two dining areas inside plus a bar and an outdoor patio. The valet attendant was extremely nice! He asked if we had eaten there before, told us about the specials, and made several recommendations. Our waitress was pleasant but didn't offer any suggestions -- the valet attendant was nicer and actually did more than the waitress. We started with the $7 truffle french fries (happy hour portion, 4-7pm). They were enough for both of us. Crispy on the outside and soft in the center, but there was only a light dusting of cheese on the top layer of fries. It would be better if it were sprinkled throughout the entire pile. The grilled filet mignon ($52) was not good. It looked like ground hamburger shaped into an oval and had hardly any flavor at all. The lobster ravioli ($42) was just OK and was surrounded by a thin sauce. The flourless chocolate cake ($11) was delicious, and the espresso martini was also good. So the mains weren't great, but the dessert and drinks were. There's plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. The bathroom was clean. We made reservations, but they didn't seem necessary on a Thursday evening.
