We reached out to A&R Solar after Purelight Power went bankrupt and all their staff disappeared,…read morebreaching their contract with us to maintain warranted panels and equipment. Previously, Purelight had done a "repair" that actually broke one of our microinverters and left 4 panels offline, leading to significant power loss and a big increase in our electrical bill, so we were pretty desperate for help with undoing the damage Purelight had done. A&R took over management of our Hoymiles instance (that's the app they need access to in order to make sure everything is working right and check on panel metrics), replaced our broken microinverter, and when a part was super late they graciously comped us for it. Excellent work, prompt service, and professional and polite techs and workers across the board. We will absolutely be using them when we convert to a generator/battery model within the next few months. Very highly recommended!

I appreciate the values this company brought to their work…read more I had gotten another bid from a company that didn't even come out to my property. A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Good job team!

Dan and Mitch from Solar Universe did a great job with the preparation and installation of our 8.64…read moreKW PV solar system! I first met Dan at the Clark County PUD Solar Tour where a couple of installers and Bart Hansen from Clark PUD presented the background information for solar power. This was the first time I saw both business and residential installations, talked to owners and came to the conclusion that solar PV was viable and economical for the northwest! I invited a couple of solar contractors to stop by my home to provide estimates. I appreciated Dan in that he went right to work first to measure with his solar tools if solar would work in my situation. Armed with the measurements, he went over the benefits of solar and answered my questions so that I was comfortable. With all the questions from both Dan and all the Solar Universe installers, I was provided with answers in how they did the process and how everything worked. I did watch as the installation took place and noticed that there work was excellent. There were a couple of small glitches, but in both cases, Dan and his team took the time to fix the problems quickly and excellent quality. They did not just bandaid around the problem, they did it right! I was impressed! I would highly recommend Solar Universe! --Norm

Professional, friendly, and efficient. Our interactions with Matt, the sales consultant, and Dan,…read morethe owner of the Portland area branch, were very positive. Options for rent vs. own allow you to minimize upfront costs or maximize longterm savings. Owning your system does require some upfront cash but it's really worth it over a decade or two. Ask about the PGE "Feed-In Tariff" program where PGE buys your power from you, and the monthly income is enough to pay for a good chunk of your solar panel costs. Also, with owning, you'll get a tax credit for 30% of the system cost. But renting is cool too, because it helps make solar accessible to folks who wouldn't be able to own. This experience is in contrast to the estimate we got from another company, who did a very hard sell and was pushing renting (which earns them more money) even though owning was obviously a better deal for the homeowner. Dealing with Solar Universe was refreshing! They will give you the straight scoop. Tell them Karin sent you! :)
