Is the USPS on vacation here in Bend, OR?? Have not had any mail delivery since 12/9/2025. No mail 12/10, no mail 12/11, no mail 12/12 and nothing yet today. They are delivering Amazon packages though! I did catch the USPS out delivering the Amazon packages and he said they were literally dumped with pallets of packages from Amazon. Perhaps Amazon needs to pay a subsidy during the holiday season so the USPS can hire the additional hands needed? Or Amazon should consider a presence here in Bend! This is all affecting the small online business I am attempting to operate here in Bend. I still have 2 packages that were hand carried to the USPS at 97701 on 12/9/2025 and as of 12.13.2025, they have yet to be scanned for tracking by my customers. We have no way of knowing where they are. Customers are paying $5.50 for the USPS service and this is not the service they expect to receive. read more

Very long lines for clerk and self service machine, self service machine doesn't work properly

Over four years later and the service in this post office is still horrible. Went in last week to express-mail a passport renewal. All the priority and express packaging was poorly organized. Sign says express (overnight) was around $32. The guy goes ahead and quotes me $48.32 I point out the sign and he says that I am using the wrong envelop for that rate. So then I change envelopes and when I go up again he says that it won't get there until 1/3/25 (it is Dec 30th) - three business days later. He says if I don't like it I can go to UPS. His initials were JEF and he was really the worst. So I walked out and went to the downtown Post Office. I walked in and told them I just wanted to get it to the destination asap. They said that based on time of day, the earliest would be 1/3/25 but that I only needed to do Priority $10.45. So I saved $38 by going to the other Post Office. Thanks for nothing JEF. read more

My issue is not with the service at the post office itself, it's the mailperson that delivers on Sundays in our area. I have never had an experience where our Amazon packages are suddenly undeliverable due to "incorrect address" only on a certain day of the the week which is SUNDAY until we moved to NE Bend. It's ridiculous! The first couple of times it happened, we figured it was because we lived in a new development, but when it kept on happening every time it's scheduled for Sunday delivery, you know something fishy was happening. If they are too lazy to deliver on Sundays, I would rather they just don't lie and say they "attempted to deliver" and put any other bogus claims. We have made numerous complaints but nothing's changed. Whoever is in charge at this location, I suggest you keep an eye on your Sunday delivery people. If USPS does not make deliveries on Sundays, please just say "CLOSED on Sundays". read more

I never leave bad reviews but man, this place was awful. I had a package supposed to be delivered, received a notification that it was delivered but it wasn't. The next day the status changed to "held for pickup at local usps office". I've been a little disappointed in the mail delivery person because they haven't been delivering most of our mail lately. We have a package drop off box about twenty feet from our mailbox but they continue to say "could not be delivered due to no access" which is not true. I've even left notes on the mailbox pointing out where the drop box is. Anyways, that's not the point and I've been understanding due to the snow and ice and winter weather. So, when I got the notification that the package was delivered and being held at the post office I had no problem going to pick it up. I brought my ID and proof of address just in case they needed it. I waited in line for about 40 minutes (I'm 5 months pregnant so not the most comfortable thing to do). About halfway through the line, an older gentleman had a medical emergency. A man from the line ran up to the front desks and urgently told them a man was passing out and needed a chair or seat. I don't think I've ever seen employees be SO underwhelmed or unconcerned. He repeated himself a couple more times before finally finding a chair for the man. As I approached the front of the line, I noticed a female staff member at the front desk getting in small arguments with every customer she encountered. When it was my turn, I began to explain to her my situation. She cut me off mid sentence and said "I need your drivers license" (which I had already placed on the counter). I slid it closer to her and she went back to look for my package. She came back out with it and said "this is your package but I can't give it to you because it has a different name". I told her my husband's name and asked if it was his. She gave me a dirty look and repeated that she couldn't give it to me since it wasn't my name and immediately said "bye" and tried to move to the next customer. So even though I had my proof of address with my name, same last name as my husband's, my ID, and the message from usps with the tracking number and address, she refused. As someone in customer service myself, I really try hard to be kind to others in customer service. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she had been dealing with difficult customers, and I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. But she seemed to be purposely going out of her way to be rude to any customer that came to her. We live about half an hour from the post office so it was a huge waste of time, gas, and now money since I cannot do anything to get my package. read more

I've had a PO BOX HERE ON 4th St since 2002. It seems that the people who use this PO has NEVER USED A PO IN NYC, CHICAGO, OR PHILADELPHIA. This place has its problems like understaffed, poor phone service however, unlike the Cities I mentioned above the staff is mostly friendly, polite and helpful. I think in this layback city of Bend, OR there are too many spoiled people from other states just lower than OR on t Map. I keep getting other people's mail in my box along with their junk mail and I usually just put it in the outbox but the mailman has started cramming it in my box now. There has been two specific things that he has continued to to put back into my box all year. Now he has left a note written on a unknown liquid damaged piece of paper. I noticed that some of my banking information mail was in another person's box because they brought it to me the other day. I hope he's not intentionally putting my vulnerable information in other people's mailbox's as a form of retaliation, but it sure seems like it. read more

Wow. Unlike the DMV office I just visited and reviewed, the local Post Office seems to be the subject of considerable Yelper wrath. I never challenge other Yelper's reviews (I wasn't there, I didn't experience what they experienced) but my two interactions with this PO have been of an entirely different character, downright pleasant even. On the first visit, I stopped by to see if there were issues with receiving mail at my new address. My mailbox had been empty for a week or so, even though I properly completed a change of address with the Post Office. The person at the counter - whom I waited mere minutes to see - was sympathetic and directed me to the back office to speak to someone. That person, whom I waited not at all to speak with, promptly engaged with my issue, looked up and verified my change of address, checked in the back for mail that might have been held and then told me she would speak to my carrier to make sure there are no issues. I left the PO about fifteen minutes after I arrived feeling pretty good about getting my mail delivered (which it was starting the very next day). The second visit was more routine. I used the self-serve package machine to weigh out and stamp a large envelope. Worked just fine. But then I bought some stamps from the machine and after the transaction completed - nada. No stamps. So I joined the line to see a counter person, waited all of two minutes and explained my situation. He immediately said 'yeah, they sometimes hang up in the machine' and went out to retrieve the stamps for me. A minute later, I'm out the door having mailed my package and bought some stamps. Can't ask for more. Parking is a bit tight during busy times but people come and go quickly, so a spot should open up. read more

I've called the phone number during business hours multiple times and somebody there just picks up the phone and hangs up. They can't even figure out how to deliver a package. In 19 years of living in the same address, never having problems till this new mail carrier. He lies about our address be inaccessible so he doesn't have to deliver a package, has other people sign important documents and then get the letter several days later without the green card due to someone else's signature. Still missing 2 packages and another signature only letter for past several months. All I get is a recording when calling our postoffice with no option of leaving a message and our particular one we have to go to is closed. Currently on hold with them after being disconnected several times I've called and emailed countless times about lost packages and haven't heard from anyone. First, the good part. I have a great mail carrier named Pat who is friendly and reliable. He's one of the rare few postal carriers I'd highly commend. But today I had an incident with a young, blonde mail carrier here (truck ID # 7225290) that was so vile, I couldn't believe it. I was parked by the downtown library and she parked her postal vehicle so extremely close to my car that I knew I wouldn't be able to back up without damaging her vehicle and mine. She then opened her door and dug it into mine in order to get out--and left a permanent dent on my car. When I confronted her about it--and the fact that I was handicapped--she walked away from me, telling me to leave her alone and go park in a handicapped spot. I'm now in the process of trying to report this incident. But I call the main # and no one picks up at all. Is it too much to ask that the USPS train their employees in parking skills--and be courteous to others when they're out doing their jobs? And is it too much to ask that they list a contact phone for the carriers' supervisor online, so you can get in touch with them when they do something like damage your car??! read more

I do not get my Amazon orders and I suspect the carrier just does away with them somehow. Luckily I have been reimbursed by Amazon, but I am afraid to order from them now because I know if shipped by USPS it will never make it. Also I get notice of mail I should expect today or soon never comes. I have talked to folks, but to no avail. Sounds dramatic but this is the worst post office ever. Lack of customer service, the 2 hour lunch breaks, and the mail carriers deciding when it's convenient for them to deliver packages. I've used this post office for many years. They set the benchmark for the worst service and always blame "short staffed" as their excuse. Way before covid, the excuse that seems to be acceptable these days to charge more for doing less. I could give many examples of inept service. They recently returned a package to sender with no explanation to either of us as to why. Had to reorder it. I live in Arizona for the winter. Last winter I stopped getting my mail when po box auto renew stopped for some reason they could not explain. Once expired a po box cannot be renewed online, apparently. I tried to contact them for weeks, by phone, email and snail mail. I finally had a friend go in. They called me once and I missed the call. They never tried to call again. They started returning my mail to sender so all my banks, insurance, auto billing, etc. thought I moved or died or something. All they had to do was pick up the phone or answer one of my letters to the postmaster with instructions on how to renew. I've had to many problems with this office to go on about. Long lines, wait times. Five counters and often only one or two staffed. Total looser branch.. If you don't believe all the reviews try calling them for yourself. My daughter and her family recently moved to Bend. During the past month I have sent three packages on different dates. One arrived and the other two (both sent with tracking information) went missing in Bend. Obviously, having read through other reviews from people who are experiencing the same problems, I am not alone wondering who is responsible for all the missing mail in Bend. I would be interested to know why Bend utilizes a half-baked idea of communal mail boxes on every block? What is wrong with individual roadside mail boxes that the rest of the USA uses? I usually have pleasant experience at the post office, but I have had many horrible experiences with mail carrier(NE Bend). They lose packages, misdeliver the mails/packages way too often. Mysteriously, my Amazon orders which are supposedly be delivered on Sunday NEVER show up. When I check the tracking info, it always says "Unable to locate address. Please contact Amazon with more address information." Every. Single. Time. Then it get delivered on Monday. Is it a coincident?? or the mailperson that delivers on Sunday is too lazy?? What bothers me the most is that at Bend Post Office they seldom scan outgoing packages. So unless you physically bring your packages to the post office and have them scan at the counter, you do not know where your packages are or if it even left Bend Post Office until few days later. This practice is not good for people who have online business and have packages to ship everyday. I used "package pick-up" service for several times when I first moved to Bend, but I stop using that service because my carrier does not come to pick up my packages as requested. So I questioned her once why she doesn't come to pick up my packages when pick-up request was submitted - her response was "unless there is Priority or Express or International Mail, I'm not required to pick up packages at residence". I never encountered this type of situations before until I moved to Bend. I hope Bend PO will improve their customer service skills in the near future. read more

I've lived at my residence now for more than 20 years and within the last two, whomever the local mail handler(s) is/are...well let's just say they need to return to primary school because they had to have missed the basic lessons on the English alphabet and numbers. I am always ordering items online and they either end up "lost" or delivered to another residence. If and when the packages are actually delivered to my residence, they are grossly overdue and/or have been opened prior to my receipt Seriously, how hard is it to read a printed (not handwritten) address label and deliver a package to the address on said label? I understand that USPS workers are busy, especially around the holidays, but living in Bend has been the ABSOLUTE WORST USPS EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. And let me tell you, I've had some bad USPS experiences in the past. I can't even tell you how many times USPS has marked my packages "delivered" when they actually weren't. I will honestly say that 75% of my deliveries are marked wrong. One time I was waiting on my paycheck to be delivered (new company takeover so everyone got paper checks.) Everyone's checks had come except mine. I thought it must have been a fluke, maybe my roommate had gotten the mail and forgotten to separate mine. She later confirmed she checked the mail and there was none. I waited another day, no mail at all. Finally on the third day of no mail, I chased down a mailman I saw down the street and asked him why we haven't gotten any mail in three days. He said, "oh, this is a training route, I don't think they've been able to get anyone here this week." I was waiting on my freaking paycheck!!! Just tonight, I got an alert that my package couldn't be delivered because there's "no access to the mailbox" or something like that. In other words, they just didn't have time to deliver it. The streets are clear, there's nothing blocking the mailbox, and every single package locker/box has a key in it which means they're all available. STOP FREAKING LYING, USPS!!!!!!!! You guys are seriously the worst and what sucks even more is there's no one to complain to. They truly don't care. read more

Carriers I think is where the problem lays. We got to the point years ago where we had to go paperless on all our accounts because we just weren't getting our bills. And you know if we're not getting our mail who's to say it's being delivered when we send it. So the main thing we get is junk mail and stuff from the schools. However, recently we've had birthday cards and packages not show up. This really sucks. We know some have been delivered to the wrong address because we saw the delivery person walk the package up to the neighbor's door and then we called them to see if they had our package, yep.
