At some points not covering her mouth. We have now been sick for 14 days. If you are sick please stay home and don't interact with children. Besides story time we enjoyed our visit - lots of great indoor activities for kids.

And when thinking about the planning for the opening of the new library and the virtual closing of the existing downtown library the planning is in my mind nonexistent. Bend is a city of 100.000 and we virtually have no ibrary at this time. The plans for the remodeling of the existing downtown library are again a waste of $. It is in a word "perfect" as is. I would guess that if the public had any idea of how the $ were to be spent (wasted) the library bond issue would have been voted down! The plan of how to spend the bond proceeds should have been "as needed" instead of spend (blow) it all!

This is the downtown Bend branch of the Deschutes Public Library system (note: you'll find reviews…read moreunder 'Downtown Bend Library' as well and Yelp seems uninterested in combining the pages despite being asked). - It's a fine library. Big(ish), well-stocked with books, magazines, CDs and such, has numerous free computers, has a good wi-fi system. - Lots of reading areas with comfortable seating. - Staff are friendly and helpful. - A great local section if you're interested in learning about Central Oregon. - Plentiful parking and lots of bike racks. - The online system (which serves the Deschutes system not just the Bend branch) works well and includes downloadable ebooks.

Wasted Resources The DPL has a number of rooms set aside for…read morestudy and tutoring. Some of those rooms are meant for groups. However, when those rooms are not being used by groups, they could be used by individuals who might be working on projects that require more space or maybe they need to do a study call over Zoom or Google Meets. However, the DPL does not allow that under any circumstances at least that's what I was told. Seems a waste of resources to heat, cool and light a space that no one is using. I guess the DPL doesn't mind blowing the public's money in order to follow random rules that make about as much sense as gills on cactus.

Wonderful little branch. The librarians are very helpful and friendly, fun play area for kids and a…read moreseparate reading area for adults. They also have computers, printer and self checkout. It is a really convenient place for reserved book pick up.

Not the biggest library in Central Oregon, but a card in one library in Central Oregon gets you the…read moreright to check out books, etc., from any other library in the 3-county area (Jefferson, Crook and Deschutes counties). You can also check out a pass to go for free to the High Desert Museum. Or join the library band - yes, they do have one and it meets on Wednesday evenings!
