This post office in the broadlands is the worst I have ever been to. I wait at least 20 minutes to be served even if no one is there because they are understaffed (usually 1 disgruntled employee). Customers come with so many questions as if it's their first time in a post office. For example, one lady decided to put 5 stamps on each of her 150 envelopes right at the desk. Please be considerate of others! The people who work here obviously don't want to be there and are so unfriendly. The door to get in is terribly heavy and the place is old and dirty. For being the richest county, this post office is the worst and needs to be updated, have better hours, and have a more friendly staff. Avoid if possible! read more

I have been to this post office several times. Sometimes the staff there are helpful and other times they are not. If you need specific instructions for sending packages, the customers around you are more helpful than the staff in my opinion The hours of operation are ridiculous. They are open only for 5 hours. Mon-Fri : 11 am-2 pm, 3pm-5 pm ( Lunch break from 2-3 pm) Sat: 9 am -12 noon Sundays and Holidays: Closed Also the package/Envelope weighing and postage stamp dispensing machine in the front lobby malfunctioned because I weighed a package( document) and pasted the required postage and went inside the post office for something else. The staff looked at my package and weighed it again and said it needed additional postage and proceeded to stick the additional stamps. Why is this happening? I was in here recently trying to send a package to my brother who's serving in the military overseas. He recently reached out to us and asked us to send him a box full of items he misses from the states. It was absolutely my pleasure to do so for him. However, USPS really made the entire process of sending packages to our troops to be cumbersome and honestly unfriendly . It was my first time, and I really needed somebody to explain the process to me, and they basically were completely unhelpful. In fact, the woman that worked there was borderline rude. Finally another customer felt sorry for me and saw how the woman was acting and basically helped me out with directions. I ended up going to another delivery service and paying triple the rate. The bill ended up being $270 but it was worth it to actually have decent service and someone to help me send the package. USPS is the main delivery service to send packages to our military, they have to do a better job than this. It's shameful that they're only connection to their family is marred through poor customer service. read more

I discourage anyone from using this office. It's legitimately the worst post office I've ever encountered across the country. Shortest business hours I've ever seen, (5 hours) closed from 2-3, two extremely annoyed and unfriendly workers that honestly seem intent on working at a snails pace. My packages are never received in 2-3 business days even though that's what I pay for. I work next door and often send my two military kids packages and it is ALWAYS the biggest hassle. doesn't really surprise me that this place has a 1 star rating. walked in and used the machine to scan my postal code at around 4:57, but the machine was giving me an issue so i tried walking inside the room where you can talk to someone and give them your box to ship but they locked me out, someone who was walking out asked if they could let me in and the worker said "no tell him we're closed". the customer in front of me who was using the self service machine before i did walked in the room only a minute before i tried walking in. ended up having to go to the one in sterling where the customer service door was open and self service machine worked fine read more

This "business" is a laugh and a half. Plan on arriving when you have 30-40 min to spare because there's only 1 employee working and the lines are past the door. The hours of operation are a joke. Ashburn is a decently sized city and it's as if they dropped this half ass effort to serve the folks here. I'd expect this sort of ordeal in a remote town in Kansas. Rated one star because I have to leave a star to leave a review. They hate their jobs. They lock the door a few minutes early and if you're there to drop off a package that won't fit in the dropbox the lady will bite your head off about it and tell you to come back tomorrow. Then today I saw some poor confused man trying to talk to them and the Lady said "you have to come back tomorrow we're closed! The only reason you got in here is because someone was holding the door open as they were leaving." The man kept trying to talk and she just kept saying "we're closed come back tomorrow, we're closed come back tomorrow, we're closed." It's absolutely disgusting. This is probably the poorest run post office in the country. Very limited hours, rude staff who obviously hate their job. Lines are always long as they never have enough workers and the workers they have deliberately move very slowly. It's a nightmare and has been for years. I come to this USPS store a lot for my shipments, and my experience here is typically the same as always. I like to go right after they reopen post-lunch break because I figured that there will be less people. And of course, I am wrong every time. There's usually a line of people waiting by the time I get there, even though I come early. After the post office opens again, the line moves pretty slowly. The clerk is nice, but she likes to take her time. Definitely do not recommend coming here if you are in a rush. Of course, they always try to push insurance, which I respectfully decline every time. I am giving this place a 2-star because I think that there needs to be other employees working the front desk. I feel like I spend a lot of time waiting in line, even when there are only a couple of people in front of me. Became impatient saying I had removed my credit card too soon (chip card) When I gave her an attitude back insisting that I had not taken out the card, she quieted down. What's with people who have no desire or idea about customer service. Needs to be moved to the back office where she doesn't have to be with customers. Really bad impression. Anyone in the 20148 that gets the awful news that they need to pick something up must go here. The hours are so strange (see previous review, I can't remember, but they take lunch when you take lunch). You need to bring your phone, a charger, some snacks, and clear your schedule should you intend to mail something or pick something up from here. This would be a good time to knock out a chapter of your Rosetta Stone. While there are two stations for mailing things, I believe one of them is fake, as I've never seen more than one disgruntled postal employee there at one time. I have been ten times, and each time I go, the line is just a little bit longer. There's a pack and ship place down the strip mall beyond the awful Safeway, and whatever the premium is to send it from there is well worth your time. read more

The Broadlands USPS has repeatedly provided rude and abrupt service with misinformation about overnight mailing and opening a PO box. I came in at 530 pm on my way to work and I realize they close at 5 pm. However, I wanted to use the self service machine and they had little to no supplies. All I needed was some tape to tape up my box. You would have thought I asked for a kidney. They were rude and kept telling me they were closed. I came in holding two boxes, with two kids, clearly trying to juggle it all, and she was super rude. This Post Office location is really hit or miss. Sometimes they'll have agents at all of the counters and firing on all cylinders. The line moves quickly and things are pleasant enough. Other times, there will be a line going through the door (inside the building) and one person grumpily working the line. I do not understand the staffing logic. The hours aren't the greatest and it can take a while if there is a line, but overall I've had good experiences here. With post office locations closing all over the country, I feel lucky that there is still one so close to my house. I try to use the self serve kiosk as much as possible, it's always available even when the main office is closed. There are usually only two people working at a time, but I have aways found them to be very helpful. Store clerk, Marilynne is extremely rude for no reason. Reading the other reviews, I'm not sure why these employees haven't been fired. They are disorganized and mean. There was 1 pen available and nothing else to prepare packages while waiting. I asked for tape to tape my box and she told me she'd do everything when I got there. When I got there she was super rude telling me I needed to tape my box. I told her she told me to tape when I got there, so I was confused as to why she's so angry. She told me to move out of the way and go prepare my box. Then starts yelling at me to move my stuff so she can help the others. When I came back in about a minute, she rudely asked me where I'm sending it, and I told her it's written on the box. She was upset saying that I need to buy the box. Umm, yeah, no kidding. She then was rough with my package. Not fun to have someone freak out on you for no reason. Go to Dulles, They are super organized and professional. I'll never come back to this one. read more
