This is the only roller rink in Fresno, so there is nowhere else I would compare it to. The atmosphere of the place is very pleasant, you could bring friends, family, coworkers, etc. There is plenty of seating for everyone, and near the rink so you can watch others, too. I brought my own skates, and loved learning some new tricks. The DJ dude was really chill. He let people choose songs to play, so that was nice. Also, if people would fall off their skates, he would immediately go to help and ask if they were okay. There is small arcade area with fun easy-win ticket games. I do have to say that the prizes are like what you would find at John's Incredible, but the amount of tickets per prize is a little off. They got by actual currency, so $1.00=100 tickets. I thought that was weird, why not just put the ticket price? I will be going again to avoid falling from cracks on regular sidewalk. Definitely come here to try it out. Also, no phone use on the rink (common sense, though). And you can't skate backwards, only when they announce a specific time when you can. read more

Hosted my daughter's ninth birthday party here at United Skates. The nostalgia toward fond childhood memories that the venue and vibe sparked couldn't make up for the let down from lack of refreshments my little girl and her friends had a great time but they get negative 1 for the "food". The cheese pizzas were worse than any gas station, cafeteria or frozen cardboard variety. The kids wasted all of it. The fries were soggy and chicken strips were still cold in middle yet they somehow had burnt marks on one side, no seasoning and the accompanying ranch sauce cups and ketsup packets were generic and bitter. Soda and punch pitchers were watered down. Service was slow, not that we wanted more of any of this slop out to us...but we were always looking and waiting for cups, napkins, serving utensils or the slurpee refill. read more

I enjoyed skating with my friends and it was affordable for how much time we got to skate. The overall location is okay but the staff was kind of mean. Some of them had an attitude but sometimes we have harder days than others. It wasn't the cleanest but the music and vibe was cool.I wouldn't eat here as the food isn't the good for the price they are asking. This place is SO cool for both adults and children. They have an arcade where you can win prizes, a snack bar with SO many food options, and mainly their skating rink! We've come here several times before and every time we do, we have a great time. The last time we came here was for a fundraising event through one of our friend's school and they handled the event REALLY well. They were organized about the whole thing, had food readily available and making new food fast, and made the whole event fun with their DJ. Not only do they have great music of all genres playing while you skate, but they play with the lights and make it dark and neon or bright and flashy depending on song/mood. It truly is an awesome experience. Even if it's crowded on the rink, you hsve an enjoyable time skating. Some of us were weary about skating because it had been years but we were relieved to find they provide some sort of rolling walker to assist you on the floor and help you learn to skate. I took my 3 boys today because they really wanted to try roller skating. $35 dollars for 4 people to enter plus skate rental. It was kids skate but the little walkers for new skaters were $5 each, now we are at $45. The line took over 20 minutes to get in and we were the 3rd group back...very slow. At the skate rental desk, the skates are not checked for condition, we got skates with broken and really short laces that we could not lace safely, had to go back and get a new pair. Wrist guards are a nice idea but only if the velcro works and stays put, had to go back to the rental desk and get other guards. As I was lacing up my kids skates I could not help but notice how completely disgusting and filthy the floor was. The place literally just opened at 10am and the floor was just gross. I asked the staff member at the rental desk if they have a cleaning crew and he did not know. My kids had fun- I am glad but I will not willingly ever go back. read more

This was our very first time here and I should have known better that skate rooms probably don't have the best choice of food. The venue looks big enough for skating and the music was contemporary so that's the only reason I have it the 3 stars. The food took forever to serve and the young people at the concesión can use some basic customer service training. They couldn't answer a basic question like "how long will it take for the food to be ready?" I was neither given the answer or at least an estimate. I don't even know why they gave me a "pager" at all! I had to check for the status every 15 minutes! The fries were nasty and the "BBQ wings" were burnt. 1. Food is terrible even if cooked fresh. Fries aren't good, pretzels are terrible. The deals on drinks aren't bad but buy a pitcher it's just a better deal 2. Non of the skates or rollerblades are comfortable bring your own if you can afford it. They hurt your ankles like hell. Bring the thickest socks you got. Let alone the fact that braking is impossible because they are worn down. 3. If you are an adult come on adult nights which unfortunately is Wednesday. 4. There's always "games" going on which just ruin the flow and fun of skating, no one gives a dang about the games tbh. I understand it's for the kids but adult nights should be on the weekend cause nobody wants to skate after work. It may just be more of a personal thing. 5. The walls are literally the nicest piece of the building. 6. Don't even get me started on the wrist guards that are not in any good condition didn't have any velcro remaining and smelled terrible. They don't take care of their equipment and are impossible to keep on your wrist. If they are that concerned with people getting hurt atleast make sure the wrist guards are good. read more

Overall a good experience. Today however, we were notified of a 27 cent charge for a cup of water. No problem paying that, but the charge isn't listed anywhere. Highly unethical. The cashier at the snack stand was extremely rude, brushed off our 7 year old and when I inquired about the fee, she said "it's 27 cents and you can talk to my manager. She's right over there." Went rolling skating here and was given a pair of rental rollers blades that were damaged. While I was skating the wheel broke off resulting in pieces falling out all over the floor. This also resulted in me falling. Me and the group I was with was given our money back which I appreciate but they do not check there equipment well enough. read more

Difficult manager. Wouldn't let us out to get quarters because there was no quarters inside. Kinda hard to focus on skating when you're, oh idk, FUCKING BURNING TO DEATH. WHY IS THERE NO GODDAMN AC?! It was jam packed and I felt like a cookie in an oven. Way to damn difficult to use the lockers and you have to pay each time you open it but you can't open it IF THERE'S NO FUCKING COINS??? So I guess tough luck if you locked your stuff in there and don't have any extra change to get it out. Not to mention one of the poor girls was having an allergic reaction of some kinda and her manager didn't give a flying fuck about it. Look, I don't give 5 star reviews lightly, but these folks have earned it. We just had our daughter's birthday party at United Skates and it was absolutely perfect. The whole building has been re done in bright colors and tasteful murals, the tables and sitting areas are plentiful and comfortable. The pizza they served for the party was very good by kids-party-pizza standards, and the snacks and finger foods we order for the adults we're actually very tasty. Much better than I expected, and the party package we selected included drink refills which was a much appreciated. The best part however, was the skating rink staff. First off, there were enough of them. This goes a long way. They were fully staffed and we didn't need to wait for service anywhere in the facility. Secondly, and most importantly, the customer service was was spectacular. Every staff member was upbeat and helpful.l and courteous. The staff member who was running our party did a great job and was super pleasant and helpful. The DJ staff played a great selection of music and ran fun games. The rink floor staff was attentive and helpful to the young kids who needed some help, and the kept the floor safe while allowing folks to have fun. I could go on, but if you have made it to hear, you get the idea. Give these guys your business and let's make this fun place a success so the community can enjoy it for a long time. read more

Classic roller rink! Although the decor is different, this is the same place I used to go to skate as a kid. I'm so glad it still exists! They have different theme nights, arcade games, and a snack bar. The skating floor is smooth and the place is basically clean. A fun family or date night venue. My husband and I go there to exercise, it's cheaper and more fun than a gym. Go skating! read more

Staff members are unprofessional. During my skate session last week I overheard the colored haired woman on more than one occasion taking horribly about other guests and children. Working in this industry is hard but if you don't like it get another occupation because referring to other people's children in an inappropriate way is uncalled for, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I couldn't make out the name but it did start with an E. This place is meant for kids to come and have fun, not for adults to talk trash on them. It's 2024 and your staff, who are adults, are bullying young children. Just because they aren't saying it to their faces still doesn't make it right. Disgusting. Should be ashamed and will be telling other PTO members and leaders of the Central Valley what to expect for their kids when coming here. Friendly staff and very serious about safety which I absolutely loveeee. A very Affordable activity for the kids. We went twice this weekend. The food and drink is where they get you, but snack machines are there too. The line to get in and get skates moves fast and it was very clean when I went . I'm normally such a Karen with yelp reviews but this place is Karen approved. In my defense, I only leave Karen reviews the wait times are excessive because of employee negligence, but this place has a great staff. My daughter really enjoys herself here and she's soooo picky -- the fact it was like $40ish for the both of us to skate was like wow . We will definitely be here like all the time now lol. I Highly suggest filling out the waiver before you get there instead of waiting until you get there because it helps the line move faster. read more

I think the only thing i can complain is that the teenagers who works there don't really seem like they wanna work there at all lol. I reserved a time slot for a private party a month in advance- with the MAIN MANAGER. She told me I didn't need to call to confirm, just show up the day of. When the day came, I arrived with my party ready to skate! But the acting manager/crew had no idea of my reservation, and had me show proof of having paid a deposit. Then, they had my party squirming around because they let them all In without paying. This whole service was so unprofessional. It seemed like the management had no communication nor was trying to make it easy. They later came back and said I could use the deposit towards the party. So I asked if I could get it back, to tip out the crew working late. They refused. So I asked if I could use it towards the $75 fee they charge to bring outside food in- again, no. (Even though this is towards the party). At this point, the only option I really could use it for was for admission. Which ended up going towards 5 individuals. The staff was AMAZING. That's the only reason I'd ever go back. But management was the worst. Really make sure they explain everything when booking a party here- BEFORE the day. It seemed like they were changing the conditions by the minute. I hope they control their attitude if they want to continue hosting more parties. Families should be able to have parties here without stressing over their mess. Last thing- they NEVER pick up the phone/return phone calls. From the times of roller towne until now, I'm very disappointed. First the staff for the most part was not friendly. Entitles teenagers in management positions is never a good thing, but able to be overlooked. They still have the same equipment from the 70s as far as skates, and get this you have to wear....wrist guards....next it'll be huge bubbles we need to climb into for protection. We stayed for the kids to have fun but we will not be returning. A huge disappointment from the day of old, but I guess that's how business is these days. Seriously not the fun roller towne I remember from living in Clovis! This place is focused on upselling through games, tickets and glow junk. They force you to wear wrist guards... but then don't offer new ones for sale you must wear worn and gross used ones. If someone falls and says they are hurt the whole rink is vacated so they can do a report???? Um... skate at your own risk right??? DJs don't keep the energy up and lights are 75 cents per use? Too expensive. Referees are on the floor at all times but still don't keep skaters going in the right direction anyways. Skate fail. read more

She called earlier in the day to tell the guy how many skaters there were and a couple other things then when we got there they asked the same question. That the guy asked earlier in the day. We didn't get a choice on what kind of pizza to get all we got was cheese I think it was ketchup and cheese. If we wanted pepperoni it was an extra charge. I was here for a school event. The school did make money. As I understand it, using a skate night as a fundraiser was one of the easiest fundraising activities for the school so far. We had a blast. They event had enough space to set up two professional photo booths. The only thing I wasn't prepared for was all the extras available for purchase at the rink and the excruciating pain to follow. I hadn't been on skates in decades!! Well, in any case I had a Blast with my family and the other parents and friends who attended. I highly recommend taking time with your crew to get on skates. They offer both in-line and two-by-two skates to choose from. If you are rusty or new, you can rent a skaters gates for any height to help with your stability while you get the feel of the wheels under your control. Finally the pizza and cookies were super yummy. read more

I'm giving it a 3 stars. Would have given 5 stars but unfortunately the skate helpers are a nuisance! When it was Cal Skate clovis kids were told at the start of the session to stay to the right if they were inexperienced skaters. United skate makes no effort to control the traffic even though there are two people monitoring the floor at a time. It's a hazard waiting to happen and sucks the fun out of skating for the experienced skaters! Not sure if I'll return as it's a waste of 3 hours trying to navigate through the madness! It's not really hard to keep the inexperienced off to the side out of the way of skaters. Even during the "speed skate" time kids were allowed out with the helpers read more

I love this place I used to come all the time when I was a kid when it was Cal Skate. Now I am bringing my kids here. The remodel is great. Love the arcade. The food is whatever not the best. I would not order any food here. I prefer to eat else where before I come. Any who I had my daughters 7th bday party here on Jan4th. I got her the VIP Package. Let me tell you was it super duper packed. It was so crowded it was not enjoyable to even skate anymore. The lines and the wait time for my guest to receive their skates was way too long. It was overwhelming, and most of my guest it was there first time there. So not the best experience. There was a assigned party host for my daughters party. I did have to help her out a lot, as far as getting refills on the soda, asking for cups plates, etc. I think maybe they need to assign maybe 2 party host for a VIP party cauSe it seemed like to much work for this poor girl. I think her name was Stephanie. But I did have to help her do her job so it did take my time away from my guest. On the positive side my daUghter did have fun, she loved her trip To the dj booth, she got to spin the wheel, and she loved the cotton candy towers. My personal opinion when you have 6 or more Bday parTies reserved why not keep it private. It was just way too overwhelming with the crowd and it was so hot inside.
