Booked a reservation time for Sunday at 3:30 to 6 PM for a birthday celebration. Each person has to sign a waiver on your phone. We had to wait in a little line to check in our reservation before we were able to get in. They give you a wristband and a raffle ticket for the rental skates. They have to do a little bag search and go through a small metal detector for safety. They have one person giving out the rentals to people and run the toy tables. You were able to get quads or in line skates. We pretty much just claim a table to put your stuff there. The rink is pretty big. They have neon lights and music playing. There was a lot of adults and kids skating around. They also had padded rails for the rink. We had two large pizzas, two pitchers of soda, and chicken fries. The food was pretty good and had big portions for 7 of us, but it did take a little while for the food to come out and it was kind of pricey. They had little mini arcade games which was fun for the kids. We event got a small little toy which was only $8. It is definitely a fun place for all ages. read more

I've brought my kids to United Skates several times, and every visit is such a great experience! This time I wanted to leave a review because they really do a wonderful job. The process is simple: I checked which session was available, stood in line, signed the waiver before entering, and paid for the session. One thing to note spectators who aren't skating still need to pay a $5 admission fee. Inside, the atmosphere is always lively. The music is upbeat and keeps the kids entertained and having fun. They keep things interactive with activities on the rink like beginner backwards skating, speed races for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced), and even fun games like Red Light, Green Light that the kids absolutely love. Everyone takes turns getting off and back on the rink depending on the activity, which keeps it organized, fun, and engaging. Birthdays are a big deal here too they give shout-outs and host lots of birthday parties every weekend. They've also got food at the concession stand, lockers to secure belongings, and plenty of seating options (front row for rink views or more comfortable bench seating in the back). The arcade games with prizes are another highlight for kids. When you walk in, there's security with bag checks and metal detectors, which adds peace of mind for families. All adults are required to sign a waiver even if you are not skating. No wavier for the kids. They have a bag check and security scanner you go through once you finish paying. When you first enter the walls are colors are green and purple and the place looks outdated. For the party we were there for, there was a table ahead next to the game prizes to check-in for the party once you finish the security check. They ask to see the wavier again and ask for the child's name then given a wrist bands to everyone and tell you what number table you're party is at. Confusing because all the tables for the party is close together and there was no number visible we saw but was able to find the birthday girl and her mom. Plenty of parking. The place inside is spacious and many seating area. They have locks for shoes you have to pay for and walkers are $6. They do have events if you check online for discounted days on tickets. They give you a wristguard with your skates. They had plenty of skates/rollerblades for the size you needed it looks like and different colors. I like the glow in the dark mural on the wall, everything Fresno. They had game arcades, snack bar area and music was good. They even play games on the skate area. A lot of kids and adults that don't know how to skate did fall a lot. Overall, my son enjoyed it even though it was only his second time skating and used a walker, he would like to come back. If you love Chaotic Spaces, this review is not for you. I attended a birthday party here and here is my experience; they WILL not let you check in as a party guest unless the person hosting the party has checked in, even if you have waited in their long ahh lines they have. My child did not skate so we only played the "games" to which half weren't working but when scanning the play card still took your credits from the card. Our party host was not helpful at all. They brought out the pizza's, but fries were late hardly anyone touched them. Party had a cotton candy tower and at the very end brought out the churro fries in a tray to go cause most likely they knew no one was going to eat them since party was over. Lastly we had to hunt down our server for forks when we were cutting the cake. I will sadly not attend this establishment again. read more

My daughter came to a skate party intending on making friends and hopefully winning a costume contest. She's homeschooled and we travel for work so we try and do stuff like this so she can play with other kiddos. The costume contest was an absolute disaster. They went over each kids head for cheers. multiple CHILDREN had NO APPLAUSE. None. The look on their faces broke my and their hearts. You guys should have a drawing for all participants. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ROLLER RINK. They are not inclusive. You better bring a whole crowd to cheer for your kid. My daughter bought the whole outfit with wig and did tutorials for makeup styles. The way she fell apart the morning after talking about how no one clapped for her....any parents worst nightmare. NEVER AGAIN. Get it together. What a way to break a kid. read more

Poor planning and execution on this day. The place is great, however, they were very ill prepared for this labor day event. They are in dire need of some industrial fans and better AC, especially in the entrance area where ticket booths are. My 13 year old daughter literally and completely blacked out, passed out cold from the crowded over heated room. They had to get ice, water and a fan to cool her down. That being said, the security guard and a manager were very fast acting and attentive to our scary situation. The line and attendance should be a learning situation for management here. My suggestions: 1. Get air flow in there immediately. Invest in about 6 industrial fans and place strategically. 2. For specials like Labor Day, dont oversell and have to turn people away. Have 2 lines for people who paid ahead, and 1 for people that are paying at the door. Once you get all of the pay aheads in, the open the 3 lines to everyone else. We bought this special for 4 little girls to get 2 1/2 hours of skating. After waiting in the ill managed lines at the door and to get skates, they got less than an hour. That last hour I spent in line to get the pizza and drinks. You could do better than this, so please do. All that being said, the reason this is 3 stars instead of 1, is because ALL of the staff (ticket booth, security, snack bar, people on the floor, etc...) were all friendly and helpful. We came here for a mother/son function and I had never been and we had a blast! They had food choices that were not too expensive and good. The service for the skates was easy enough and they had the kids helpers to help them learn to skate and not eat it. The music was on point and we just had such a blast. I signed up for their emails and I LOVE that they have themes for whomever, movies, cartoons, young kids, adults, totally want to come here again with our little and the hubs. Sunday, 6/11/2023 - Took all our little one's to United Skates to celebrate one little one's 6th birthday. It started at 12:30pm, I believe. When we arrived at 12:30, business was already opened and running. Entrance fee is $13.00 per person with $5.00 skate rental fee. Don't forget to bring your socks! Address is 2881 Peach Ave, Clovis, CA 93612. Upon arrival: Pros 1) plenty of parking when we arrived. 2) adults that are skating needs to sign an online waiver and show them at the pay window. As I mentioned above, entrance fee is $13.00 per person with $5.00 skate rental fee. 3) they have the normal light brown skates. First time I saw these blue, plastic skates. I'm NEVER using those darn blue skates again! 4) they have the little kiddy skates for the little ones still learning to skate. They'll need their shoes to use these. 5) they have the little skating help bar thingy to help little ones learning to skate. 6) music was good. 7) there's games that you can win tickets to get toys. You use a card and load your money on it to play. 8) went on a good Sunday. It wasn't too packed. Easy to skate. 9) there is a snack bar and it was open. 10) there were 2 vending machines. 11) there was a drinking fountain. But the drain was plugged in it. 12) women's bathroom was clean. 3 stalls and 2 sinks. Cons 1) they gave me the blue skates to use. Those were so uncomfortable. It fits me fine. But!! It felt hard inside. My feet, on the sides, were rubbed raw. The top of the skates were plastic, so that too was not comfortable. My feet hurts after using it. Never again! I've always used the light brown ones and never had an issue with those. My little birthday girl, she wore the blue skates too. Her little ankles were rubbed raw from it too. And no. I didn't tie it too tight on her. 2) you have to wear wrist protection here. That was new to me. But I feel they should wash these things. All of ours smell so bad. All the kids were complaining to me it stinks. I agree with them. Mine stinks too. Maybe they do wash it. I don't know. Still am wondering why it stinks so bad. 3) while we were there, I only witness two games that were played. One was the four colored corners. If your color gets picked, you have to leave the skating ring. The other was a green dinosaur that came to the middle. Dinosaur didn't do anything. Lol. Just stood in the middle. No dancing or anything to that song that sings "to the left, to the left, to the left....blah blah blah...to the right, to the right, to the right...blah blah blah". Wish they played more fun games for the kiddos. Conclusion This skating ring was pretty cool. I liked it. This day, it was not overly crowded. So there was plenty of room to skate or speed skate if you're into that. They had a few games to play to win points to win prizes. Lots of tables to sit at. They have a snack bar. There were 2 vending machines to get snacks or drinks. My suggestion is maybe they can wash those wrist protection things. They do smell bad. Also, maybe add a few more games to liven it up on the skating floor. read more

Came here for my daughter's 9th birthday party. Booking the party was a little difficult to say the least; at first I couldn't book online, and I tried multiple times. I called the phone number several times and left messages but never received a call back. Finally one random day I was able to book her party online. I never received a confirmation email but thankfully I took screenshots of everything (my spidey-sense was tingling) and checked the account online. I waited several days after booking and still no call or confirmation email. About two weeks before her party I started getting calls to confirm the guest list and things like that via an online link they emailed me. Firstly, online it says a minimum of 10 kids are required for any birthday package (we had 13 RSVP and we were doing the VIP Package), but online it says 15 for the VIP (but with all packages they will account for a difference of 5). Secondly, they ask for the amount and names of the adults attending; some of these are kids from school so I don't necessarily know the parent's name let alone which one or if both are bringing their child. I simply left that space blank, and thirdly they make a note that only children are allowed to eat the food from the purchased birthday package; this is something I strongly disagree with, if I am paying for the food and drinks it shouldn't matter if the parents eat it or not. Once there the kids (and several parents who paid for themselves to skate) had a blast and it was a fun time but there still were some hiccups; they almost forgot the cotton candy tower, my daughter never received her DJ Birthday Certificate, they forgot the goodie bags and called after we had left so we turned around to go back and get them (now I have a bunch of goodie bags), and they won't let you take the birthday gifts out to your vehicle, they said we would need to pay the entrance fee because of their "no in-and-out" policy. I can't necessarily recommend this as a birthday party location because there were just too many hiccups and inconsistencies for me, but it wasn't a disaster either. read more

My family loves coming here every week. Most cities don't have a roller rink, but we're lucky to not only have one but a pretty good one at that. It's well maintained, clean, colorfully decorated, with an amazing wrap-around mural of local landmarks. Plenty of parking. The bathrooms are always clean. The games are always working and the staff is always quick to serve, even at times when they seem short-staffed. The prices are pretty good, especially during discounted sessions and if you bring your own skates. They have interesting theme nights. If you're new to skating, they offer classes on weekends. I went here a couple of times in the 1980s when it was Roller Towne, and once while it was briefly Cal-Skate. When it became United Skates, the owners did a thorough refresh. It's far better than it's been in the past. I highly recommend coming here with your family or a group of friends. read more

I was a kid from the 80's and visited this establishment back then dozens upon dozens of times. To bring my daughter to this blast from the past and was a special and fun. While it still feels old school and not modern, maybe it's because of the lowish ceilings, I was happy to see several nice features. The carpets are all redone, the rink looked pretty good and the lockers were all new and easy to use with an electronic code. The employees were all nice, and each had to work multiple stations around the establishment. It all worked out fine, and I never had to wait for the skates or a snack because it wasn't busy. The DJ was friendly and fun on the microphone playing a mix of old and new hits and classics. The skates were clean, each came with wrist guards. The kept the air nice and cool and it was a great retreat from the summer heat outside. I saw lots of games for kids along the walls that generate tickets, and a long counter to trade tickets for goodies, but we did not use those. I will return and I would recommend it. read more

I'm glad they still have a roller skating rink around. We use to go skating here all the time. They have updated it a lot. We attended a birthday party here. Staff were nice and helpful. But because there were so many people and so many parties the place was a bit chaotic. We entered the line that said party. They told us to enter the entrance then we had to go to another line for wristbands then another line for the roller skates another line plus $5 for the skate mate/ skate trainer. It looked like they were a bit understaff. Once we got our skates, we were also given wrist guards. Each skater was required to wear wrist guards which I thought was great. But we had to exchange our wristguard because they couldn't strap. When my daughter starting skating she felt unstable and was holding on to the sides to keep her balance. One of the staff members told us that a parent can be on the floor with her even if they didn't have skates on. We saw a lot of people falling and staff would skate over to the fallen people and ask if they were ok and if they needed help. Music wasn't too loud. The Dj made it fun for the guest and the Birthday guest. They played a game and had a shout-out to the Birthday people. They would call the Birthday boy or girl to the DJ booth and give them an individual shout out. The skating time was 3 hours long, which went by really fast. But enough time. There were 2 skate sessions for little kids only and then youth (I think age 14-17). After that, everyone was allowed on the rink again. ATM was broken and I didn't have change. I ended up having to plead with the managers to lend me $0.75 for a locker after they repeatedly told me there wasn't a solution, even after I offered to buy anything from concession or make it work. They only budged when I said my only given solution is to go around to strangers asking for money. They escorted me to a locker with their $0.75 like it was precious cargo. I live 5 hours away and did my due diligence to read their site/policies/rules. There's no mention of the change requirement for lockers in their site. And having a broken ATM on site, that's its own problem. If any of your management cares, have customers prepay for lockers as part of their entry fee and give them a token or quarters. We're in a digital age, people don't carry quarters for lockers. I think you got this, or I hope you do. But please, have solutions if you can't provide services you offer. Went there for a private event, and they had the entire place for us for a fair price. The place was clean and organized. The rink was spacious and had lights to set the ambiance. Pricing was fair for entry, and they had fair pricing on the food for a private location. I was very pleased with my experience and look forward to returning someday. read more

We love this place. I am so happy this rink survived the pandemic. We have been coming here for the past 6 months and just love the people that work here. They are always so nice to my girls. They were smiling, and helping us in a way I had never experienced before from any business, even more cool for it to be at the skating rink. I had to make sure to commend the (2) managers because when a crew is that good it comes to the leadership, so my hats off to all of the employees there that showed great manners, professionalism and amazing customer service. Every single person that helped us was very kind and smiling , the girls were truly happy at their jobs with so many businesses you walk in and people are not so joyous. The sign said it started at 6:30 and finished at 8:30 it technically didn't start until almost 7, VERY short staff, the "manager" said he would give everyone an extra hour since it took forever to get everything started. The music was good because I love me some jobros but they track was small and it kept repeating, the DJ cut us off at 8:30 when the manager said he would give us an extra hour. They didn't go by there word and the worst part THERE WAS NO GIVEAWAY!! My family and I love United Skates. We drive 1.5 hours one way to come here 2 times a week (Mariposa). It does get a little crowded on Fridays and Saturdays (understandable). But....It's great place to find your love of skating all over again. Shout out to Disco Dan. Super positive, taking care of the rink, keeping people safe. and willing to put up with my bullshit . For one, if you're going to have a place where you're going to be for a few hours you gotta have good food. The pizza they offer here is the worst ever! What a waste. I highly recommend you provide a better pizza for adults and children. At least put some cheese and sauce on it. The slice was absolutely and horribly dry and no flavor. UPDATE: came on a normal public skate day. Don't recommend if you don't have kids. It's a lot harder to skate around the kids and the walkers that they rent to them. I never came when this was Cal Skate so I can't compare them, but I really enjoyed coming here! My boyfriend and I came for the first time with a few friends on adult night. Everyone has to be 18+ to get in and i totally recommend coming on this day if you don't have kids. I can't imagine the chaos with kids and walkers. It ended up costing us around $25 for 2 people and skates. As for skating, it's hard to stay together since everyone has very different skill sets, but even skating alone is pretty fun. The workers were very attentive, especially when I fell lol. Definitely hurts, but don't let it scare you away from the experience. The only issue I had was that they didn't really have a space for less experienced skaters vs. experienced. Since it was my first time here I wasn't the best. I tried to stay near the walls to avoid the faster skaters, but they always end up skating around me on the sides too. A few of them bumped into me (luckily I avoided falling) and some almost fell because they couldn't avoid me or the crowds on the side. They're definitely cool people to watch, but not too fun to skate with if you suck like meBesides that it was really fun and my boyfriend had a blast for his first time too. I didn't try the food at the snack bar, I got a soda for like $3 and they give out free pitchers of water I believe. I also didn't touch the arcade. This review is from someone who is regular and comes out to use the rink only. I don't come here for the food and the arcades so this review is purely on the floor experience. Support our local rink! I come here to skate with others or from myself. We only have one rink in Fresno and that saddens me. Once you get to know the staff and owners, they're sweet people. Regulations enforced by them is due to company's policies. It's also for yours and your children safety. I can not emphasized how much children, teens, and adults don't follow the basic rules and end up with a small injuries sometimes. Truthfully, there are some rules I don't like either. Pre-Covid, On a crowded night, it gets busy! So expect people falling, slipping, and being slow. Mind you there is usually one staff on the floor supervising all of this so imagine the struggle when everyone is skating differently. When things do turn sour, staff is pretty fast to act on clearing the floor and assisting the person to get medical help. The rink has opened for private sessions now until things given the okay to open for public skate. I rented the rink and the private sesh is definitely worth it. read more

My daughter and I came here tonight. They had an event which was all you can eat except they failed to mention that even if you're not going to skate, you will be paying a full price which is $18 a person. I never skate. Only my kids do so I don't pay to skate but today I had to and they sneak it on you when you come in so at this point, you don't have a choice And then your unlimited food is slices disgusting pizza that they have that's barely cooked and it's only cheese you have no other options then they have a line that is so long. They will not open up another stand because they think that one stand should be for people to get food. The other line is if They're actually buying things except they're not notifying anybody that hey if you wanna buy something come in this line, they just think people should just know. I on top of it all they have employees standing around with their thumb up their butts. Did I mention that it's freaking hot they don't even have the air-conditioning on and if it is on it's at 80°.
