I love how…read moreI don't have to call someone to set up an appointment and see what times are convenient for me. 2 the Dr's there are pretty good and do a good job at getting your prescription, even with the fully digital exam. That said, the first issue began at the door. The receptionist has a nasty disposition, you can tell she doesn't want to be there but has to because SSI doesn't cover the bills. She just looks at you with distain and talks down on you like how dare you come in here. 1st visit she asks some basic questions then sends you into the back. Ok, fine. Go into the back and wait for my exam with a large louder than a Harley portable A/C unit in the middle of the waiting room. Eventually I was met by an assistant who was very friendly. She explained the exam would be remote and she's going to be setting up the tests. All went well and she took me to the Dr., who finished the exam with the lens machine. After the exam I went back out to look at glasses only to find out their 2 glasses and exam bait and switch scam is a big lie and nobody with a prescription can get that deal, fabulous!! I went ahead and continued searching for frames well because I seriously need new glasses. All the frames were jumbled up, nothing was in the correct section and finding men's glasses was a chore. I get people try on glasses and just sit them back wherever the see an open spot, makes it really difficult for an employee to keep things organized. But they don't even try. I finally find a pair and go to a rep table to get my order finalized. The rep had the disposition of a wet mop and just like the receptionist you could tell she was just there because she had to be. She started running off options and I quit choosing when my glasses got up to $600. The Dr told me I should get UV protection because I apparently have developed cataracts, when I got the price of the UV protection I bypassed it. I'm not paying $1000 for a 1 year prescription. I'm getting progressives this round and unlike other eye Dr's I've been too, she didn't measure anything, just looked at me and put a marker dot on my lenses. I checked out, was told 2 weeks for the glasses. The glasses came in a few days early... wonderful!! I go back in and there sat the same receptionist, with the same why are you bothering me attitude. I told her I'm here to pick up my glasses. She told me to have a seat, dug through the drawer and gave me my glasses, then just stood there staring at me without saying a word. I tried them on, couldn't see far away. I looked around and found reading cards and grabbed it myself and checked out the reading part, reading was great, but that's only part of the lens. I told her twice I couldn't see and she just still stood there staring at me like what did I want her to do about it. Finally she said I'd have to see someone else and she'll get them. I sat there for another hour waiting and listening to her tell other patients that they'll get the 3 for special and she didn't need their insurance before sending them back. Ok, so an hour passed and I was called over to the table directly behind me. The rep looked over my order and told me the first rep set my glasses up for someone who sits at a computer all day... um ok? That would be fine with me however the part of the lens I see distance through was only a 3 mm span. Who in the world would order glasses like that!!? He/she ordered new lenses and said it'll be another 2 weeks and had me take my glasses with me. Now we sit and wait. I pray these lenses have no flaws, if they're still not right I'm demanding my money back and I'll go somewhere else. For $600 I would expect to be treated like a person and at least have a nice case to put my glasses in, not a ¢50 sleeve made out of an old towel. Last time I was here, they even gave me a cleaning kit and cloth lens wipes. Not this time, nothin was given but attitude and bad lenses. This will be my last adventure with America's Worst. Oh yeah, almost forgot... they didn't even give me my full insurance benefits. Knocked off $50 of everything. Now my insurance has been used and I won't be able to use it again for another year. Perfect. Next time I'll be going to Walmart, they're more professional, act like they care and don't rip you off.

During the exam it was discovered that my vision in one eye was drastically distorted. They told…read moreme I was fine and that the weak prescription they gave me would fix it. I went right away to another facility and they found a hole in my macular that will require surgery. I will never go there again. In addition, they were very crowded, the employees seemed a little short on patience, and there was a deal of wait time.

Doctor Frishman is very personable, but the business as a whole has major flaws. I was originally…read morescheduled for early Fall, but the office rescheduled me TWICE because they hadn't checked my insurance properly (once for the coverage of glasses, once for the visit itself). I wasn't actually seen until December. I had my exam, and the only mention of bifocals was Dr. Frishman asking me if I'd ever had them. No mention that I actually NEEDED them. I am very near sighted. I went to order glasses, and was told my insurance barely covered my prescription. I've never had that issue and my prescription hasn't changed much. They were nice enough to offer a discount that took the total down to a little over $300. When I got the glasses, it took me a while for my eyes to adjust. They caused such bad dizziness that I only wear them for driving. Even then, I have to squint to read my dashboard. I can't see anything up close with them, unlike my old glasses where far away vision is a little blurry, but close up vision is ok. I brought the glasses back to have the ear pieces adjusted and ask them if I needed bifocals (I've never needed them before) to fix the issue, but was told I'd have to pay a SEPARATE TEST FEE FOR THIS. NO ONE told me this on my original visit. So, yeah. My glasses I paid out of pocket for are next to useless. I don't know what they did with these and the office has no intention of figuring it out. I've NEVER had this issue before, and I've been getting updated prescriptions every 2 years since I was 12 years old! To add insult to injury, we received an invoice in the mail for an extra $80. I have no intention of paying this.

First they forgot to replace the battery and had to open it back up. Upon leaving the store I noticed that the new screen constantly cycled the Lock Screen on and off at random. Also would not charge properly. Took it back a few days later and they agreed to replace the battery and the screen. After replacing the screen and battery they couldn't even get it to turn back on. Turns out both screens were defective out of the box. Junk parts. Replaced the screen again and it worked fine........for a week. Screen cracked under the glass and the phone was completely unusable. Took it back and was told that it was physical damage and they wouldn't warranty it. They were willing to replace the screen again at a cost. I said no way I'm doing that and I will never have a phone repaired by anyone again after this nightmare of an experience. It may not have been there fault but the parts they sell are junk and very fragile. After approximately 3 hours of wasted time and $200 I would never recommend them to anyone.

Alleghany Optical is the absolute worst lab ever. A picture is worth a thousand words…read more.. I ordered my prescription in tinted lenses. After paying them almost $600 upon placing the order the first pair was 3 weeks being made due to lab problems. I returned them for major tinting problems. The replacements came in 2 weeks. I returned those due to a major error in the optics (they didn't get the prescription matched and I couldn't see at all with them). 2 more weeks later I returned to the store to pickup the pair you see in the photo linked above. This has been the worst experience with any eye doctor/lab I've ever heard of. Negative reviews are all over the Internet on these people, I wish I had thought to look before. One star is too good for these thieves.

I felt like that this was highly unprofessional and very inconvenient. Due to my experience for my first time coming there I am very displeased with the level of professionalism. To say that this place is harrible is an understatement. I hope that they learn from this experience and how to treat a first time customer in the feature. I will not be recommending this facility to any of my friends and family. Customer service needs to be corrected before this place should be allowed to see any more customers.
