The lady here does a good job. I'm not sure if she's the owner here but there was only one gal working. I'm new to the area and showed up on a Saturday as a walk-in. She was with another client when I walked in and another was waiting in the seats. She didn't acknowledge that another client had just sat down and continued to chat with the client in the chair. When she was done, she acknowledged me and the gal in the seats and asked if we had an appointment. I said no and this somewhat was a big deal. She kept repeating Saturday is busy and she is all booked for the day. Then after she had the next client in the chair she started to say maybe she can fit me in between -- when I was the only one who seemed to be waiting? I've gotten my eyebrows threaded before and it usually takes 10 min? Also I don't know if I ever had to make an appointment. The client in the seat only got her eyebrows and lip done, which took about 10-15 min. After she was done with that client, she said she could take me. I probably won't come here regularly only as a last resort. Her prices are the highest in the area too. Looks like there are other threading salons in the area that offer the same service at the same quality for a lower price. read more

All of my experiences were GREAT until the last visit. The only reason being is my brows were made a bit too thin. But every visit before the last it has been great. Puspa is quick and honestly, it hurts the least compared to all other threading places I have gone to. My partner and sister have both been here and have been repeat customers. Looking for a place offering eyebrow services closer in the area and Yelp had me check out Unique Salon! With the high ratings I decided to stop in as my brows needed to be cleaned up! A little after 2:30p on Wednesday and I knew this salon was great from the amount of people waiting (we were all walk ins), two before me and two more people after me. Puspa greeted everyone who came in and washed her hands after each customer. With the A/C going and casual ambience, it was not a problem to wait as Puspa is very fast compared to other salons I have been to and gentle too. She consistently asks if the pain is too much and if you want anything else done, as I got my brows threaded, trimmed and my upper lip done too. With her fast work, my brows and upper lip are super clean and smooth! While waiting I saw male customers come in for their brows and was surprised as the other salons I haven been to, did not have male clients frequently. This is my second time coming here and I had a really good experience the first time. However, this was not my experience the 2nd time. I told my lady to keep my eyebrows thick and just to clean up. I didn't want to make it thin or change it's shape too much. After I got it threaded, I was very upset. My left eyebrow was crooked and did not match my right side. She also threaded too much of the inner eyebrow so it ended up looking boxy and not natural at all. I was so upset but didn't say anything because I was in disbelief. I didn't want to make a scene so I paid, tipped, and left. I understand that people can mess up and I don't want to fully blame her. It's def frustrating when your eyebrow doesn't turn out the way you want AND it takes a while to grow back. When I first walked in, she was very patient with me and she asked what I wanted then sat me down. She was very friendly, complimenting me on my jewelry and asking my previous brow experiences. We exchanged facts about each other to make my first threading experience much easier. I just tried this spot for the first time and am in love! I live in downtown Portland but didn't want to pay the standard $30 for a single brow service in that area. I looked around on Yelp and was tempted with all the raving reviews for Unique. I got my brows threaded and tinted. My eyebrow hairs are very thin and a soft black. In the past, other salons wipe the tint off after 10mins, and the tint barely shows as a dark brown. Here, the tint isn't wiped off but instead the tint application that hardens is scraped off (for lack of a better word), which I think lets the tint set in longer on the actual hairs. I'm excited to not have to worry about applying eyebrow makeup for a couple weeks! read more

They also do a good job and everyone is really friendly. The service is quick but can get kind of busy during the weekend.
