Since moving to Hacienda Heights a few years back, I've been trying the local nail salons to see which one is best. I think I found it. This salon is not fancy but the prices are VERY good compared to others. I usually get gel nails and my past experiences with other places is they fall off within a couple of weeks, some even just one! I've done my gel nails twice before here and each time they have lasted a month plus. Today was my 3rd time. Sandy and Joe are very friendly and they do a very good job. I'm usually unsure which color I really want and they are patient to give me suggestions and also try the colors on my nails for me to see. I appreciate that! read more

I can't believe no one has review this place yet. I have been getting my nails done here since I was in high school. It's totally a "hole in the wall", very ghetto, not fancy at all, but they do good work for a very decent price! It's a husband and wife that own's this place. The wife's name is Sandy hences the name of this place. I always have my nails done by the husband. He does really good work. He really takes his time to make sure it is the way you like it. Also for some weird reason when he does my nails, the nail polish doesn't fall off as fast. A French manicure by him can last as long as 3 1/2 weeks. I have gotten French manicure elsewhere and at most it only last 2 weeks. He's attention to detail is what sets him apart from the rest. As for Sandy, she does all the pedicures and she does an amazing job on unique and difficult designs. She can do just about any designs you give her. This place has really loyal customers that have been coming here for years and years. So... the only bad part is sometimes the wait can be really really long. If you go right before a holiday don't be surprised if you are waiting 2 or more hours. I have learned to go early in the morning or to call ahead to find out how many people are waiting. Since it's only Sandy and her husband it can take really long. The up side to the long wait - My French manicure is only $11 and my French pedicure is only $15. So all in all $25 for both, that's how much it cost just for nails at some other places. But like I said don't expect anything fancy. If you are looking for massaging chairs or neck rubs, go somewhere else. They only do nails, but they do it well. read more

Maybe they should just close the shop during the entire lunar new year celebration - I planned my day around coming here for a pedicure because Sandy came highly recommended by someone I trust - but the shop is open and there's no Sandy to do the work. Not sure why they even bothered opening their doors for business when the a major part of their business offerings isn't even available. And when I asked the nice gentleman running the shop if he had any idea what time "the professional" as he put it - might show up to work - I was told "I don't know, maybe tomorrow." I'm trying to be understanding of cultural differences, but I feel it's unacceptable for a business to open its doors to customers when the primary staff isn't even available to work and there is a possibility that full services won't be available until who knows when. I'll be back at some point because of the reputation but for now this place gets one star for the reputation and one star for the fact that the gentleman there was fairly courteous despite not having any useful answers for me. read more

First time here and I am very satisfied. Came here around 10am, so waited only 5 mins. I got both mani and pedi.... pricing was AMAZING!! Such a deal! Mani+Pedi is the same price as a Mani in other salons. quality is just as great. Joe was very gentle on my hands. NO CUTS. The only cons is that he didn't push my cuticles back, no biggie. Sandy gave me a pedi. And my feet was so dry recently (that the heels began to crack) but Sandy did such a great job. I'm so happy that my feet are soft once again. I needed to get a french manicure done for an upcoming pageant, so I searched Yelp for a highly rated place near my home and I found Unique Nails. My cousin and I had french manicures done today. Sandy did my cousin's manicure, and her husband did my manicure. Both of them were very friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable. The husband did a great job with my nails! The color is even, each coat of nail color is smooth, and the nail shape is exactly what I wanted. He even asks what shape you want your nail to be with filing and asks if there is any pain when using the orange stick to clean under the nails or when buffing the nails. He is very careful and does great work. I can't comment much about the wait, since my cousin and I came at just the right time when there was no wait. During the manicure session, there were many calls that came in from customers asking if there is currently any wait at the shop..so I guess it's a wise decision to call ahead just in case! The place is a "hole in the wall" and can be difficult to find (depending on which direction you take to get to the place). I couldn't find the shop at first and accidentally turned into the small plaza where Jasmine Nail shop was. Oops. Luckily, Unique Nails was in the plaza next door. I discovered them last year and loved them. Because of my work I can't come often since I rather rest. Today I really wanted a pedicure before I had to go to work. I came in and it was only the wife there and not the husband, which I thought was odd. It is Saturday and it is busy, both should be there. I came in and there was a lady finishing up her pedi and two other waiting. I decided to take a chance and wait, in hopes that her husband would walk in. Finally it was one lady before me, and another walked in after me. She is a regular and chatting it up with Sandy. Her husband does walk in and asks who is next, the other lady and I respond that it is my turn. I told him that I only wanted a pedicure since that's all I had time for at this point since I have to go to work soon. He looks around for the tubs that they do the Pedicures in and can't find them. Instead of getting it ready and looking for it he tells me I am going to have to wait. Or something along those lines since he has a mask on and I cant hear him clearly. He then makes me sits down again, and asks me again if I am not getting my nails done. I respond that I am not. So he asks the lady who came after me like 5 minutes ago if she was getting a fill and she responded yes. So he took her!!!!!!!!!!! I had been waiting patiently for 45 minutes and he took her because I only wanted a Pedi and he wanted to work on flipping nails not feet. I left so heated, I didn't tell him anything I just left. He saw me get into my car pissed an everything and he acted like whatevers. They lost my business by doing that, Funny, last place I went to did the same to me, took another walk in that came after me and I never came back. I wont be coming back here again either! read more

Some would say I'm biased because I've been coming here since high school. I say, there's a reason for that! Sandy is A-MAY-ZING!!! And AFFORDABLE! Just got a pedicure today.. $17! The best thing about Sandy is, if you don't like ur mani or pedi, you can tell her and she won't get offended or frustrated. She'll just fix it and make it the way you want it. I actually check while she's working and I'll ask her to do lil things like, file the left side a lil more or sharpen the corner or something odd like that.
