I have not been here in ages but after reading some of the yelp review decided to come in during my lunch break. I made an appt with Stephanie and she was awesome. I am very picky when it comes to my mani and pedi getting done. Stephanie was very friendly, careful, and knows what color or design is good for your type of fingers/hand. The whole time she was not only talkative but very detailed. I definitely will come back to her. Oh Stephanie only do nails. My pedi was done by someone else so I gave one less stars cause of my reg pedi that was done. She did an okay job on my toes. I should of request a design cause my toes looks plan with the natural color. Plus she didnt get all the cuticle out on my toes. I will ask for Tammy next time to my pedi since I read great review on her work. The price is def reasonable $17 for gel mani & $10 for reg pedi extra with design depends. If your looking for a quick cheap pedicure for $12 bucks regular color this is your placeBut remember "you get what you pay for" and I'll tell you up front you won't be sitting on a massage pedicure comfortable lounge chair and getting the foo foo feet treatment or Laying back relaxing. Nope-You sit in regular chair and put your feet in a bucket of Dawn water. They cut your toenails and if you want your ingrown toenails cut out, you need to be very specific and tell them to stop if it hurts. I took my sister in there with me few months back and she said she'll never go back there cuz they hurt her toes pulling out the ingrowns. Her's ended up getting infected and took a week to feel better and be able to wear shoes. I felt so bad because we were doing a sister thing together and I brought her there back to "hey it's only $12 bucks let's go ‍ and we both hadn't had a pedi in months, her years. They paint comes with $12 or do gel cost $10 or so extra but I don't do gel there anymore because it seems different then other salons. And I'm not going to pay extra if there going to chip and look grungy in few days after wearing tenni shoes. But it's really fine for me every once in awhile because I'm on a fixed low income and I can't afford a $40-$75 pedi so with this place I go in couple times a year on a special occasion or when needed. Better to make appointment b4 you go. And either way prepare to wait a while anyways. But back to $12.They've always been nice to me or courteous shall I say but they are not "talkers" if your looking for conversation with your mail tech, that's not the place. You go in you go out. I hear complaints from others. But I'm not going in there to make friends so I don't care I'm going cuz they do inexpensive pedicures. It's just not a good vibe in there. But I know they have their regular customers that are happy with their nails. So to each his own. And I'm 60 I've been to a million salons in my life. I just didn't go there for the holidays this year,I treated myself to a $40 pedicure elsewhere, wear I got to recline in a massage pedicure chair and got a decent pedicure & gel but it wasn't worth the $40 bucks either. So It's just hard finding a good nail salon anywhere in La Puente. My advice to the owner if you'd like to achieve more business... First-Smile when a customer walks in. Be nice-Be friendly. Invest in a couple of pedicure massage chairs. I'm sure you can find reasonable priced used from another company going out of business or on line. Use soap that is made for our feet. I know Dawn is good, I use it to wash my dishes but I don't want to soak my feet in it while I'm getting a pedicure. I was shocked one time it was a year or 2 ago I saw an employee pour the Dawn in my pedi water behind that curtain. Listen I'm sure you can buy a gallon of milk & honey soap at the dollar tree or 99 cent store anything is better then using dish soap. And listen I am not writing this review to be mean or rude or be vindictive at all. Please forgive me. But I'm speaking the truth. I give all your technicians a lot of credit for even having to do pedicures for people, it's very hard work that's why I am a great tipper cuz I feel bad for you. God knows I wouldn't want the job much less do it. I couldn't. It all just makes me wonder if your all being made to work in that place by the expressions on your faces and behaviors I am very aware of. You all look exhausted & miserable. Honestly, this is the best nail salon experience I've ever had. I requested an appointment with Stephanie and she was so welcoming, kind, and helpful. These nails were super important since they are for my graduation so when I told her that, she made suggestions based on the picture I showed her. We went and got a pedicure and they let us walk out without those foam sandals when we asked they said NO No we don't have no more. Then we got there super Early 8:45 cause they changed there time to 10 and we weren't aware. So we got here early and they let other people ahead of us. She stated they had an appt but when you call Diane says they don't do pedicure appt. They're NOT clean they reuse the pink scrubbers. If anything the Board of cosmetology should take a visit to this place. Over all they are very rude here. And they don't care. Take your Monies elsewhere. Last thing almost forgot my aunt got acrylic on her toes here and when she went to another place to get another pedi a couple weeks later the new place removed the acrylic from the toe and when they did her real nail was falling off she got fungus on her toe from getting a pedicure there. Came here for the first time about two weeks ago. I was recommended by a cousin who's nails always look so simple yet elegant. I asked for Stephanie (that's who my cousin goes to), she was busy. I waited for no more than ten minutes before she saw me. As soon as I sat down, we began to talk as if I had been going here for a while. I got a manicure with powder (to strengthen my nail) and only paid $16! Such good price, I was shocked! She finished in about 15 - 20 minutes and I left as soon as she did. My only complaint is that there is no ventilation in the salon. I'm pregnant, so this is a big deal. They had the ac on, but it didn't seem to be working. So I asked for a face mask and they were kind enough to give me one. Also, next time I'll be taking my own polish. Their variety is VERY limited. I wish they kept up with the nail polishes and instead of using a new one they fill it up with acetone which it leaves ur nails a bit bubbly.
