This salon gave me toenail fungus, and I am beyond disgusted. I walked in with clean, healthy feet and left with a fungal infection that showed up just days after my pedicure. I know my body, and this clearly came from unclean tools or poor sanitation practices. There is no excuse for a nail salon to operate without proper hygiene. I trusted this place with my health, and they failed me. Now I'm dealing with the time, money, and embarrassment of treating something that never should've happened. Avoid this salon. Just because we don't speak your language, doesn't mean we don't understand you are being an a-hole. We will not be coming back here. RUDE staff and horrible service. We got two pedicures and they made both of us bleed with no apologies. They will also sass you if you don't get additional services or add-ons. They even had the audacity to ask for a tip in the end. Staff is friendly upon arrival and they try their best to sit you as quickly as possible. Quality of service is very poor. They all tend to work harshly and quickly. They rip off excessive skin (both pedicure and manicure) . Just as others have mentioned they drew blood (from both feet and hands) . They do not know how to work with gel x . I asked if they could remove gel x nails , they assured me they could. However, they proceeded to very harshly remove my gel x nails. By the end of the service there was still quite a lot of gel x residue on my nails. I politely pointed this out to nail tech and owner. They said it was just glue and did not seem to care about assisting me further. Will not be back and do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

It's been about 7-8 years since I've gotten my nails done and especially with this whole pandemic happening it's been tough. Finally decided it's time to give it a chance. As soon as you walk in there's a table with hand sanitizer and temperature machine, there's plexi glass at all stations and employees are wearing masks. I saw Lynn yesterday and she was extremely Rude and sloppy. She cut me twice with out any remorse. My nails are poorly shaped and she didn't seem to appreciate my asking her to fix the shape. Lynn said she knew what she was doing and wouldn't leave me that way. She attempted to reshape them and did a poor job again. I was afraid she'd cut me again in the process. She really didn't seem to care and was more concerned about her text messages than her paying client. She also said that they only do 1 coat of polish on acrylic nails because otherwise they come out too bulky. Wow!! Something is wrong with her and it's affecting her work ethic and possibly become part of her character which is flippant. I wouldn't recommend this place to any paying customers. read more

I'm unsure how to explain my experience here. It was almost empty when I walked in and it looked dirty and unkept. I was desperate for a color change because the last tech totally botched up my nails. It was like a 5 year child painted my nails and I needed to do a simple And quick color change. After looking at my hands I realized I might as well get a manicure. My cud's where needing some Love. Conversation went something like this.. Me: I was going to get a color change but I think I'll get a manicure Tech: Let me see nail Honey.. Me: *shows hand* Tech: No Honey, you no need Manicure. Only color change. Me: Umm, I think I want a manicure Tech: NO NO HONEY, YOUR NOT HEAR WHAT I SAY. NO MANICURE, COLOR CHANGE BETTER! Me: Are you YELLING at me? Tech: um, no HONEY.. I know yell. You want manicure? Me: yes please. Tech: what color? Me: *chooses colors.* this.. and can you put a little sparkle on it. Tech: it cost you $10 for manicure and $5 for sparkle Me: *!!!!- never coming here again* Fine, let's just get it over with. 45 minutes later I ended up with choppy nails and uneven glitter sparkles. She was rude and yelling the majority of the time. And would leave to answer the phone and tend to other customers for 5+ minutes at a time. If I can give this place a negative stars l would!! I don't know who did my nails but I'm pretty sure it was the owner. She literally made me bleed!! Not by cutting my nails but by using the filing machine so close to my cuticle. Literally filed my skin off!! I needed a last minute nail set and I'd thought to give this place a try but never again!!! I felt like she rushed through. Left my pinky nail completely crooked. I brought my own nail sticker designs from Amazon and she still managed to mess the sticker designs up. Some were left crinkled underneath the gel polish and 2 are even lifting. Like come on!!! She didn't have to draw any designs and still made it look like like someone drew these stickers on with their left hand. I'm one for giving credit when credit is due . I want to share my experience with Starlight Nails. I've been living in this area for over 20 yrs . This quaint nail salon is conveniently located down the street from my house . Unfortunately as humans sometimes we are quick to judge because we tend to be visual creatures. I remember years back being in a rush to get my nails done and walking out simply by first impression of salon. As I said it's quaint . No fancy storefront or luxury decor. As years passed I have been to multiple salons . Gravitating to the salons with the fancy salons and overhyped newest trends in nails . Some of the places are great and you walk out like you're popping lol . Unfortunately a few days later you have a nw set of nails that is quickly falling apart . Once you start reaching for your own nail glue you know it's time to move on . A few months ago I wanted to get my nails done but I truly dread sitting more than an hour due to back pain , not to mention dishing out 60$ to end up with a broken nail a few days later . Stepping out of my comfort zone: As I contemplated going back to one of my old spots but knew I'd wait forever & wasn't going to any special event I decided to try something a little more simple. I walked in to Starlight. From the outside same simple storefront . Inside I noticed obvious simple upgrades . I was greeted right away by Lynn . She was very welcoming. Luckily after telling her what I needed she directed me to her station right away . I quickly looked around at their very well stocked selection of gel polishes , powders , glitters and the newer trends such as ombré and matte selections . I'm usually very detailed as far as how I want my nails and always mention that for some reason within days my nails literally start ungluing . She told me not to worry . Suggested some powder shades and knew exactly the shape I wanted . My own nails are quite small in width and most places use very wide tips or don't trim corners as Lynn did . She was extremely friendly and worked so fast but not sloppy . She knew the customers walking in by name , asked about their families and showed legitimate interest in any dialogue she engaged in . Her staff was also friendly and exchanged smiles with customers. In conclusion you're getting amazing service without the glam . Who cares as long as facility is clean and sanitary as they are . Got a Gel Pedicure With Callus Removal and it came out to $40. Way too overpriced and service wasn't worth that price. For $40 it didn't include a scrub, hot towel wrap, or even a massage. My callus remover didn't even get done 100% I could still feel the edges of my feet still in need of a good scrub. I went in today (Tuesday) around 3pm. There was just one girl getting a pedi. I was greeted right away and asked what I needed. I went in for a pedi and full set. The girl who did me pedicure did a really good job, and was extremely gentle. The lady that did my nails did a really good job as well. I got a colored powder rather than a gel or regular nail polish. Everything came out to $65 which isn't bad since I got get nail polish on my toes. I will definitely be back! read more
