I am wavering so had between a three star and four star, but due to the time am going with the three. This is a really small shop, there are only about 4-5 people working on any given day. I've been three times now and it's always the same number of people. Most recently, I went in on a Sunday afternoon for SNS and a pedi. I am used to much larger salons where they do your nails and toes and at the same time. There was a wait when I got there, they said 10 minutes but it really ended up being 20. I was finally seated to start my nails and they did a good job, she didn't do as great of a job on the nail beds and sanding evenly around the nail beds, but it was fine. This service took about and hour and then they finally moved me to the pedicure chair. I thought my same person would start on my pedi but I sat and waited for about 20 more minutes before they started on my pedicure. I realized when I was finally leaving that I'd been there almost 3 hours!!! Insane! I usually get a full sns and deluxe pedi in a little over an hour. I would maybe come back for one service if there was no wait but they weren't appropriately staffed at all and it was such a long waste of time! read more

Wow-I kept passing this place on my way to the theater and wondered if they were any good. I saw the reviews on Yelp and recently becoming a convert to gel polish decided to give them a shot. They are great!! It is not high-end spa luxury but the price was perfect, the gentlemen who did my nails made the right amount of small talk and the end result looks flawless. I visited Unique Nail today for the first time and I had a great experience! I had an SNS manicure with Meesha and a basic pedicure with Vicky. Both of them were very nice, but honestly everyone at the salon was very nice including the owner. I made an appointment for my services (but that's just because I live by appointments), however, there were walk-ins who I saw were helped right away. I've been to two other salons in Atlanta (VH area) that I did not like and never went back to. My manicure and pedicure came out great! My friend and i got pedi here. We both got the mini deluxe. They did a poor job with callus removal. Very superifical. After the pedi, we both felt our feet were course because they did not do a good job. The people are friendly and talkative but the service we received was not great. We wont be back. read more

While Unique Nail doesn't have the homey, cozy, welcoming atmosphere of my most favorite nail salon of all time, they do a pretty awesome mani/pedi in here. I've been trying to cut down on indulgent services like these so it had been many moons since my tootsies had last seen some TLC, and it showed. I try to do my best at home, but there really is nothing like a professional pedicure, and that's exactly what my feet needed. My poor pedicurist even commented on their pitiful state, asking if I had been training for a long race. Um, yeah, running... that's it. That's why my feet are jacked up. We'll go with that. About 45 minutes later, my feet were good as new and looking pretty. The man in the shop (isn't there always one random guy who honestly gives the BEST manis?) ushered me over to his table and got to work. He was very sweet, made good conversation, and my nails honestly look fabulous: the perfect length and shape, and no chipping! Woo! I may try a few more shops before arriving on my final go-to salon, but Unique Nail is definitely in the running. read more

Located in the back of that Trader Joe's shopping center near the movie theater, it's the most convenient nail salon to my house, I think. Being that I'm lazy, I went once when I first moved here, and then went back two more times because it was comfortable. And it *is* comfortable. Yes, the staff chats to each other in a language you don't understand in a way such that you worry they must be talking about you. No, it's not super fancy. But it's a decent manicure and pedicure for a decent price, and they will get you in and out as efficiently as possible. Tonight I got manicure, spa pedicure and brow wax for $43. They squeezed me in at the end of the night and accomplished all of this in about 40 minutes! They take credit card but prefer you don't tip on it. I must say, I think I prefer places like this to the more upscale. I don't feel I'm being overcharged. They've got decent magazines and two TVs. They've got massage chairs and hand and foot dryers. And they're pretty cute and friendly. Meanwhile, they'll ask me if I want a brow wax but they don't have collagen advertisements all over the place. Gets the job done, and I doubt I'll switch anytime soon. read more

Nail salons are tricky-- one day you can get one lady/man who does an amazing job and then the next-- you get someone who does a shoddy job. I have been here three time (all manicures) and have been helped by two different ladies. Here is my synopsis: Lady 1 is super sweet- speaks great English and we had a very nice conversation. She does a very good job-- no complaints! Lady 2 also super sweet, also a great job and struck up a conversation-- even though her English is limited, we had a nice chat about where I live, where she's from, etc. The place: I LOVE the location. I like to take a trip to Trader Joes when I'm there, and maybe one day I'll go back to Apres Diem. Normally taking a left off any street in Atlanta is a nightmare, but this place has a good light to facilitate that endeavor. Parking in the lot is easy, and no validating of tickets to be done. Be prepared with cash to tip since they don't want you to add it to your credit card charge. read more

After reading reviews here on Yelp, got in my rental car and navigated with my IPhone in a city foreign to me. Glad to have read that the place is hidden by Trader Joe's, that helped me to find it right away. On Tuesday afternoon the place was not full, however, all three technicians were busy. I did not have to wait long, having no appointment. Took my time finding a color. PROS: I chose the deluxe pedicure. Everything felt great. My technician was very attentive and kept checking to make sure she was not hurting me in anyway through all the procedures necessary to make my feet look pretty! They are very pretty now and my boyfriend gave me a foot rub last night which proves it! They are not set up to give manicures at the same time, which suited me fine as I prefer taking time away from my busy schedule for this little indulgence. I do not like feeling rushed and uncomfortable having to contort my upper body to suit the nail technician while trying to relax in a spa pedi chair. The manicure was also a great experience. No wincing or arms yanked out of sockets. Very polite, gentle and thorough. Don't know yet about how long the polish will last since it was just yesterday. The place gets an A++++++ for cleanliness. All tools used come from individual sterile packs for exclusive use on you. With the tip the whole affair cost me $50.00 NEGATIVES: poor selection of natural / light colors. I did think it a bit odd that the lady painted my toenails 2 steps before she was done with all my treatments. This prevented her from including my toes in the massage and masque with hot towels. Poor Piggies got left out! Several times during my treatments my technician got up to make a call on her cell phone and was talking on the phone while working on me. I've scoped out several salon's in the Atlanta area after having moved here in 2009 and I have to say this place will rank in the top 3. Aside from making an appointment the day before and still having to wait 30 min to sit, it was a delightful experience. The tech's seemed to really care about the quality of service and weren't overly chatty with each other or the patrons. Which I tend to appreciate ;) Price is average for what I asked for (gel mani, pedi & eyebrow wax) but my nails look better than they have in months & I intend on making this my go-to salon! read more

Not my most favorite service or atmosphere, but their manicures are really 5 star worthy. I came in around 5:30 on a Tuesday. With only one person in front of me, I had to wait about 45 minutes before I sat down. You can make an appointment in advanced with a specific employee. I was out of there by about 7:15. There are about 6 pedicure stations and about 8 manicure stations. It's a no frills kinda place. I got a gel manicure and it is great. The man did a really fantastic job and paid attention to details. A week later and it still looks brand new. One negative- at one point the girl beside me was getting her nails clipped. One of her nails landed on my hand and one hit me in the face...not cool. But a gel only costs $30 and that's a good find in Atlanta. At a lot of nail salons in town, parking can be a real challenge. The Monroe location beside Midtown Arts cinema provides plenty of parking and Unique Nails has a few reserved spots by the side of the building. They are also open later on week nights making it a great spot for a post-work manicure. read more

AMAZING. SNS nails with manicure was $40! My nails don't feel or look too thick like a lot of other salons do. They honestly look even thinner than the gel manicures I used to get. I don't know the name of the nail technician I had today, but she was very friendly and detail-oriented. She was patient while I sifted through all the color options and even helped me pick one out. You can tell the people that work here are pretty known in the plaza because they were saying hi to the people that were walking into the other restaurants and stores next door. I get mani/pedis on a weekly basis and about two years ago the girl that I went to regularly quit working to go to college. I was heartbroken because I adored her and she did such a fantastic job (while, of course, being extremely happy for her!). So, I immediately started trying any and every nail salon in the MIdtown area trying to find someone that I was happy with - and I'm very particular! I like a salon where people are friendly but don't talk to you too much during the pedi. I want to read and relax in a nice massage chair. I want someone who does a good job even though I have extremely short fingernails - they still need to be filed and clean up and made to look nice with clear polish! All the women (and the man!) at Unique Nails do a great job. They are very friends, no loud unnecessary chatter the whole time, great massage chair, very helpful and courteous and I am confident that no matter who provides my service I will walk out happy and satisfied. I highly recommend this salon as the best in all of Midtown and inexpensive!!! I strongly prefer this over the high end spas and salons. read more

My go to salon for years after a number of horrible nail (infection and quality) experiences around the city. They are busy on weekends so I call a few days ahead to request a time if my schedule is tighter. When I walk in and the wait is long (30-60 min) I grab a cocktail next door. I inherited this place from girlfriends whom have been going for years before me. I highly recommend. Have gotten gel and polish manicures at all levels as well as pedicures at all levels. I've been to all the other nail salons in Midtown and have always encountered rude staff so I wasn't expecting much when I came here, but Unique Nail is a little gem. It's a small and unfussy salon without all the garish nonsense that the other salons put on the walls. The staff is friendly and cheery, and Vivian gave me a great manicure and SNS - only $40! - and we had a really nice chat. So many nail workers seem really unhappy which makes me not want to go to those salons (I don't want to give money to businesses who abuse their workers) but Unique Nail has such a good vibe. Went here for gel polish. They carry the OPI axxium brand, that I am NOT a fan of the Jessica GELeration is WAY better. First off the guy running the place made a HUGE deal that I had the OPI Gel polish on my hands AND feet. He said his salon refused to do gel polish on toes because it takes too long to remove (um, this is a gel soak off polish). After much debate with other nail techs he put me in a chair, and had one of the girls put cotton balls w/nail polish remover on each toe and leave it there. The nail tech worked on my mani while me toes were balancing cotton balls. The nail was great. She took her time, paid attention to my hands, etc...When she was done she wiped my toes, had me sit in the spa pedicure chair and finished my pedicure in like 20 mins. I would have liked to have my feet soak in spa pedicure for a bit longer, but all in all I was satisfied with the service. read more

Shop has been nicely updated but unfortunately I will probably stop going here, at least as regularly. With the necessary physical upgrades came a large jump in prices. Prices jumped almost 50%. I used to pay $38-$40 for basic mani/pedi. My last visit was over $60 for the same services. Tons of options at these prices. Many are in better locations. This is the best place to get your nails done. Vivian and Lot both do my nails. If one is booked the other one will do them for me. Very seldom do you find a salon where you have several technician that give you the same of service level. Those two are my favorites, but almost every technician has done my mani/pedi and I have always been completely satisfied. But on a more personal note. I had cancer and my treatment sent havoc on my nails. (Hands & Feet) they were brittle and very darkened by the chemo and radiation. They patiently over several months got them back to a really healthy place!!! I am very grateful for their service, empathy and diligence to always deliver impeccable service. I used to LOVE this place, but last week I had a not so great experience. I got a gel manicure before going out of the country on vacation, and in the past these have lasted 2-3 weeks. A (very unfriendly) teenaged employee did it for me this time around, and during the manicure, she spilled the polish I'd chosen all over her own nails and then spent time silently touching up her own manicure while I sat there waiting for her to finish mine. She wasn't keeping an eye on how long my nails were drying under the light or if it was even turned on when my hands were inside, and other employees were just standing around watching TV and eating in their messy back room with the door open while I was there too. Of course, during my vacation, my gel manicure just started PEELING OFF after I'd had it for only three days. By the time I got home, my nails were completely bare -- and those of you who have had gel manicures before KNOW it's not supposed to come off that easily. Parts of my pedi chipped right away too. It looked just awful, and I don't plan on going here ever again. Really a shame, since I've been a loyal customer of the place since 2012. read more

I'm very happy with the gel manicure I received. It is not blobby or too thick, which is the usual problem I have with gel manis. It has grown out smoothly because the gel wasn't piled up at the cuticle, which seems to happen a lot with gel. My mom got acrylics with gel polish and they did a great job with them too. My only complaint is that they didn't seem to understand what my mom wanted. She asked for an accent nail, but didn't end up with one. They did try to suggest a glitter over another color, but the base color clashed so the nail tech took it off and just put down the other color they were using for the rest of the hands... but then never put the accent glitter over it. I also asked for a rounded square for her, but they came out very square. Seemed like just a bit of a language barrier with that tech, but wasn't a huge deal. The nails still came out beautiful and I was pleased with the price. $72 (before tip) for a gel manicure for me and a gel manicure and acrylics (with glue on tips) for my mom. read more

Usually I like unique nails. but too many times I've called ahead for an appointment and still had to wait for 20 minutes. Total waste of time. I'd come when they told me but they misestimate too often. When I do get in I really like them. But I can't stomach the wait when it's a total waste of time, and preventable since I almost always call ahead. read more
