what a delightful surprise! Came upon this place by accident and was curious so we stopped by. We split the brisket plate. Very reasonable priced and extremely delicious. The meat fell apart with a fork; served with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The bbq sauce had a nice heat to it. We will be back to try the Philly. They have outside sitting and curve side pick up. While staying nearby, I went on line to see about the local, non-chain, possibly small business places to eat. By luck, this place was very close to our hotel and the on line menu looked good so we gave it a try. This place has the menu on the wall where you place your order and pay for it at the same time. The lady who was working there was super nice and helpful. She recommended the burgers, the smoked briskit, and the wraps as the most popular. I went with the recommended briskit and the wife chose the spaghetti ground beef. The time we got there was about an hour before closing and I looked like there was a dinner rush before us as alot of the tables hadn't been cleaned off yet, but that was taken care of before we sat down. Our order came out in about 5 minutes. The briskit was super tender and had a really good smoke flavor to it. The sauce on the side was perfect; not salty with the right amount of flavor to make it pop. The spaghetti ground beef was very tasty and my wife kept saying how good it was throughout her meal. She even kept mentioning throughout the evening and the next day! This place is definitely on our return list whenever we are back in the area. read more

Went here upon arriving in Indio for a week. Excellent brisket sandwich. The meat was flavorful, tender, and not shredded. Got the BBQ sauce on the side because some places drown it. The sauce was tasty, too! Really yummy sandwich! Also got a shredded chicken sandwich. It was good, but not great. The chicken was a little tooo shredded, and wasn't very exciting. Both were huge! Wow Wow. This is the kind of home cooking I dream of. I mean, where do you get super yummy, house-cooked pot roast anymore...that tastes like my grandma made it? UniQue Bite, that's where. We live in downtown Palm Springs and it's worth the 30~ minute drive to Indio to eat here. It's abundantly clear that these folks know how to cook great food. My husband had the smoked pulled pork sandwich and it was excellent. We shared an order of the fried cauliflower...freaking yum! It's every bit as good as French fries but probably somewhat more nutritious. We loved this spot! Fresh, made to order, and NO microwaves in the kitchen!!!!! LOVE!! We showed up at 7pm. We ordered the lamb burger with a side of asparagus, and the BBB aka the Blue Bacon Burger. The fries were so tasty, fresh, with the perfect amount of crispy crunch. The lamb burger was SO JUICY AND TENDER. The burger was an amazing marriage of flavors in my mouth. It was hars to put down. The asparagus was super tasty and fresh. And my friend enjoyed his BBB. We will def be back if we're ever in town. The guy who rang us up recommend the chicken sandwich and the creamy chicken, creamy rice. I had ordered the chicken sandwich, but apparently they were out. We wanted so badly to like this place. Sadly, it didn't deliver. I had the cheese steak, which was fine but not great. It needed more flavor. Hubby had the brisket sandwich. It was dry and also lacking a bit in flavor. The kids pasta was abysmal. While the noodles were cooked well, the "sauce" was essentially tomato juice straight from the can. I was frustrated with my kid for not eating until I tried it myself. So, so bad. The hand cut fries we ordered, since neither sandwich came with fries, were very poorly executed. They were neither crispy nor soggy. More chewy. I think that's the result of not properly blanching and then frying them. The woman who helped us was very nice and it's a cute spot, but we would actively avoid it next time we are in town. read more

The service was fast accurate, and very welcoming, my friends, let me tell you, this is a place to go where you don't feel like you're a customer. I haven't been there in a while and Sonia still remembered my name. It doesn't matter what I order, It's always fantastic. The atmosphere is simple but delightful. Unfortunately, they close at 8 PM but since I know that in advance, I just have to make provisions to be there before then. The food is made by scratch, and at the time of the order. On recommendation we made a trip out to Indio for the specific purpose of trying out this restaurant... we were not disappointed. Friendly staff greeted our family and answered our questions... there's a few toys for kids to play with at the beginning of hallway to restroom... we tried the 22 bite & OH Boy sandwiches... the 22 bite was VERY GOOD and our favorite of the two. Oh boy was nice too but the mashed potatoes weren't my favorite and took away from the plate IMO... for the kiddos we have 1 picky eater so we got a couple rainbowlicious plates that were a hit and then they sampled our plates... add in a bottle o beer and that's a wrap. My family and I had a wonderful dining experience here the other day. We are visiting from out of town and have a toddler with us. Taking our toddler out to eat usually means keeping him busy and taking him for walks so he doesn't have a tantrum. The small kids table with toys and activities for littles was greatly appreciated. We were able to wait for our food and have a peaceful experience. The food itself was delicious! The homemade touch was definitely evident and all 3 of us really enjoyed our meal. What topped it off was the excellent customer service. I'm not sure if the woman behind the counter was the owner or not, but she was really warm and engaged in conversation with us and all the other guests. Glad to stop by this little gem on the way back home. They have variety of food to choose from including kid's menu. Food portion is generous. We ordered chicken creamy rice and spaghetti for kids and vegan burrito. Everything taste so fresh and delicious. We also ordered lemonade and a glass of white wine. Went to lunch today to get a burger. It was my first time here. I decided on the lamb burger and fries. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. However, the lamb burger was the star of my lunch. It was perfectly cooked and topped with feta, red onion, arugula, and tomato. It was the most delicious burger I have ever had and I have been eating burgers for many decades. I also had a delicious Arnold Palmer to drink. Everything tasted homemade. Lastly, the service was great and Elaine the owner was kind and welcoming. Please go and check it out. This little place is hard to find. The food is ok, but nothing special. It's a decent lunch spot but not a dinner date place. Extremely casual, order at the counter, no one ever checks to see how you're doing. I'd go back for lunch if I'm in that area, once in a while. read more
