Always on the hunting for taco Tuesday. It's hard for some reasons as there's not many places that promote taco Tuesday. I've seen places that supposedly offered it but I get there, it's a whole different concept of it. Well, I may have found one that's worth it. Plus a lot of places do close early on Tuesday's and Wednesday. Also not open those days as they tend to be more mellows. Anyway, we found this place last minute. It's part of a strip mall with a few other Mexican restaurants surrounding it. Once inside, there's a bar to the left right by the door when you walk in. Restaurant is to the right where the main seating area is. There's also a back area but it was utilize for a private party that night. At first we were kind of iffy as there was barely anyone there but since we were here already it was a go. The waitress was quite friendly and very sweet. Throughout the while dining experience, they constantly checked up on us to see how the food was and if we needed anything else. Made sure we were taken cared of and enjoyed our experience. Then comes the menu, quite a lot of dishes that you would typically get at a Mexican restaurant and some that seem to be new. The birria ramen which lately have been seeing at loads of Mexican restaurant. Of course as it was Tuesday, we came for the tacos. Before you walked in, there's a board that says tacos Tuesday, 4 tacos for 10.00. Thats a deal that's worth it. Either chicken, al pastor, chorizo and buche. Of course that was needed. We wasn't quite sure what buche was so opted out from that. Started off with a cold beer as they have draft and price was quite nice. 2 order of the tacos, one with 2 chicken and 2 al pastor while the other was 2 al pastor, 1 chorizo and 1 chicken. When the dish came out, it was well plated. You usually see just the tacos alone but it was plated with slices of cucumber, radish, grilled onions and grilled chili peppers. Quite nice. And of course I had to try their birra ramen. Seems lately that Mexicans restaurant are incorporating that dish to their menu. I'm also on the hunt for the best...lol... This dish too was quite tasty. Pretty decent bowl full of broth and loads of meat. Served with a side of onions and cilantro and lime slices. The color was nice. Had a dish a while back where the color of the broth was pretty light and watery. This place was nice. The tacos were very tasty both the chicken and al pastor which also had slices of pineapple added. Chicken was flavorful and chorizo was goods. Onions and cilantro also added but asked beforehand if we wanted them. Beforehand, three different salsa was brought out, spicy medium and mild. Wow, both the spicy (red) and medium (green) were delicious. The right amount of spicy and perfect for the tacos. Food was delicious both the ramen and tacos. It's with the 10.00 for the four tacos and birria ramen was tasty and delicious. Worth it. Glad that we found this place. And the staff, all very sweet and very friendly. Attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. Didn't have room for dessert but will definitely be back. We got seated at one of the booth which literally looked a lot to the men's restroom. It was fine but not a thing you want to see while eating. read more

Second time here and love this food so much. At the recommendation of the server, we got the Arriero and Torta de Lomo with the sauce on the side. That's seriously still the best Torta ever -- light bread, cheesy, grilled onions and delicious carne asada. Arriero had so much meat! And they have Diet Coke. Definitely in our regular rotation for trips to Palm Desert. read more

El Compaye on Date Palm is quickly becoming a favorite in Cathedral City. It's got that up and coming dive meets hipster vibe it's nothing fancy, just relaxed and super welcoming. The drinks are stiff, the food is really good, and the prices are solid. The smaller bar setup gives it a cool, laid back feel. Man!! This place was out of control. We just left the Bare Knuckle Fights and had to get food after. I saw this pop up on Yelp with stellar reviews so we had to pull up. The service was amazing, we got there at 10:30 and they took care of us without a rush. They were doing karaoke when we got there and it was a vibe. Had to even save some of the songs for my playlist. I ordered a pastor burrito , taco and steak taco. My table ordered some other things. 10/10 . This is a must when in the area! read more

I love Birria ramen, it different than taco and so tasty, not to mention, I get 2 meals from one bowl. I think its the best I've had. The whole fish was so good, they cook it 3 different ways and their rice n beans have awesome flavor and not just a side thought...to look pretty on the plate. Definitely a go too spot. This is the family "Go Too" place after church. My kids, my grandkids love this place. I have to have Chilies Relleno plate, every time. I've visited with my family a few times and the food and service have always been great. The Aguas frescas are my favorite thing about this place since they're authentic. How can you not read a ticket that simply says "CARNE ASADA burrito"????mind you... it wasn't even busy. Not only that but I let them slide when they "forgot" to put a fork in my bag for papas locas I ordered.... Halfway eating the papas locas there it was... the fork inside the papas locas. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had anywhere in this valley. We walked in, she told us to sit where we'd like. Wasn't packed, maybe 3 tables. Sit down, she comes a few mins later to bring a menu, leaves then comes back, takes our drink order. At this time I asked for chips and salsa because I noticed all the other tables had some. Brought our drinks, takes our food order. One table walks in, immediate chips and salsa and water for the table. Another walks in, same thing, a third walks in, same thing! At this point I'm upset we didn't get our chips, was never brought water nor was asked. Got our food, still no water or chips. We finished eating, glasses had been empty for atleast 20mins. I watch not only our service but the maker or owner as well walk by our table atleast six times and not once stopped to check on us. I watched go to every other table atleast 2-3 times while we were there of not more. I finally had to flag her down, told her we never got our chips and I'd like the check please. When she came back and I was paying, he came over and started cleaning our table. I paid, left no tip and walked out. I was really hope for a decent spot to go in Cat City and this was extremely disappointing as I usually tip pretty well when deserved. read more

The food was great. The restaurant is open until 11 pm if you can believe it. We were originally going to eat across the street to San Miguel. When the lady told us there was no more food. My brother asked if there was beer she said no there is nothing . All she had to say was that the restaurant was closed.
