Visited August 20th..always see my receipt. I came here again after they were closed July 3rd due to the holiday. This place is still awesome! I haven't been here in years and I am glad I came in! I ordered the ahi tuna and it was colorful and fresh! They give you a ton of wonton chips which i don't really eat much of ( more tuna...less chips please!). The sevice was good ( thank you Sam). They have a huge outside patio with a bar and of course inside with bar and regular seating. I missed happy hour (starts at 3pm) but that's fine because I was craving the ahi tuna! BTW...THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BAVARIAN PRETZELS ANYMORE! ( Bartender said they haven't had it for over a year). I enjoyed a nice glass of white wine with my late lunch (with leftovers!) Great food and ambiance in Oroville! Definitely return when I am in the area! 5 stars!

Vegan option- I went to lunch with work-mates and I usually dread going out because vegan options are usually limited to a simple salad and a drink for me. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see Jackfruit Tacos on the menu. Super delicious and flavorful with a gorgeous presentation. Keep this on the menu please! Service was a little bit slow it was a busy lunch service so it's to be expected.

3.5 Stars. Good American fare in Oroville. The Sweet Potato Fries were tasty. The Tex Mex Super Bowl could've benefitted from more meat and some sauce to balance out the dryness. The Drunkin' Shrimp Tacos were nicely executed

This is the best restaurant in town! I love this place…read more I had the BLT salad again and it was fabulous. It's because they use a very good quality bacon and blue cheese. I get it with blue cheese dressing Hubby got the shrimp scampi again. And loved it. It was light and the shrimp was really good. Mom got the special Chicken salad sandwich with oyster salad which she enjoyed. I had the cotton candy fizz again. And the Montgomery peach smash. They are great ordered together. The fizz is better without the extra lemon and lime in it (which I asked for but won't do next time) I also really liked the white linen drink. Sat outside on the patio this time and enjoyed it

One order was a pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries, it was very good ($22), the other order was a patty melt with regular fries ($18), the patty melt was flavorless. There was no salt or pepper on the meat making it bland. The caramelized onions were flavorless. The only flavor was the marbled rye bread with thousand island dressing. Hot chocolate and iced tea were the drinks. They had to go across the street to get the hot chocolate at their coffee house. Overall, this is a good place to eat. It has a nice patio out back too. I recommend that you try this place.

My husband got a chef salad with blue cheese dressing. He liked it a lot. My mother in law got the chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes. I really hate to write this review because there is so much good and done right at this restaurant…read more Their recipes are great, just poorly executed by incompetent cooks. After a disastrous Friday night out to try and enjoy their "Prime Rib Dinner", which failed in every respect from food to service...I made the mistake of getting food delivered from them on a Friday night. I think they need to fire that head chef. After a local woman raved about their crispy chicken salad on FB I made a plan to order one delivered tonight and paired it with the potato skins. Now I'm not sure which night it was, but I had ordered the appetite sampler and side salad (I think last week). That was one of the best side salads I've ever had and made a mental note to get a salad from there next time. The sampler was OK. I do remember the chicken strips being good and loved the fresh potato skins. Unfortunately, the pickles and other items were not so great soggy and over salted. Fast forward to tonight their six piece potato skin appetizer came with four huge potato skins. Unfortunately, they'd been double fried too crispy and slightly burnt. Tonight's order had very little cheese, probably sat in their window too long before the driver even picked it. So the flavor just wasn't there. What was most disappointing was the salad. Gone was the crunchy green lettuce and mixed spring greens. It was replaced with a moderate amount of wilted Romaine (?) lettuce topped with flavorless over fried small chunks of fried chicken. They should've been served as complete chicken strips sliced. Instead, I got hard flavorless chunks. The tomatoes, hard boiled egg (1), blue cheese crumbles were OK. The bacon was unremarkable. An $18 entrée salad should not fit into a medium sized to go container. They should've stacked all of the cold greens, tomatoes, eggs etc., in the one and put the warmer items into a small container to be combined at home. This is a pretty basic salad, but they managed to mess it up. I also asked for extra sour cream and ranch which was ignored. I think I will stick to breakfast items and only during the week early in the day when I can count on items being prepared fresh to order. I know you can do better Bigfoot with a skilled expediter and better quality control & consistency.

Visited August 11th..see my receipt…read more I have only been here once in the last few years while in Oroville. I thought I would give it a try before heading out to Grass Valley. I am so glad we stopped in for breakfast! They are always busy for a reason...good portions and friendly service! Everything was tasty and i am so glad they didn't use a bunch of butter or oil in their food! My friend has scrambled eggs with hash browns ( crispy) and biscuits snd gravy. Another large portion! Both dishes hit the spot for an early breakfast before I had to head out to Grass Valley. We had alot of leftovers and you can't beat the reasonable prices with the portions you are getting! They have indoor and outside seating. They sell pies as well (whole or by the slice). They also serve dinner. I did not see Alcohol on the menu. Thank you Carrie for excellent service! I had chicken fried steak same as above. Chicken fried steak was obviously a frozen product. Too bad. Hash browns were reconstituted. Coffee was good. So this is on the same level as Dennys. The interior was clean--nothing fancy, but exactly what you'd expect from a good burger joint. I ordered a half pound burger with cheese and fixings, and when the food arrived, I was stunned. The burger was gorgeous, and the amount of French fries they gave me was generous. It felt like two to three whole potatoes' worth, and they weren't soggy or drenched in oil--they were perfectly cooked and delicious. The overall taste was fantastic. I only ate a banana all day, and this absolutely hit the spot. Everything tasted fresh. They even provided free ranch and a special house sauce that was delicious. As of late, I've become quite the fan of Applebee's, since they have or had, some super deals on…read moresome tasty food. The latest promotion was this Big Easy menu, sort of a take on Cajun Now Orleans themed food. My super fave dish, the Cajun sauced chicken with andouille sausage over penne pasta with a nice mix of green and red bell peppers and onion was my go to dish, priced at just $11.99. Now that I guess that promo had ended, the same dish is now $18.00! Gezees that's a big ass price hike. Not worth $18 in my book! Some of the other items on the former menu didn't go up, but were kinda pricey already, like the sizzling shrimp and chicken with mashed potatoes at around $18.50. It's still the same price. All I can say is the saving grace is the Really Big Meal Deal is still available, though, not listed on the table menu. You have to ask for it. I got that $9.99 deal with the big bacon cheeseburger and endless fries along with a refillable drink. That's a deal compared to the rest of the menu. My friend had a new dish called the Tex Mex bowl with shrimp and chicken. That was around $15.50 ... not super bargain, but I guess those are all gone these days. My friend actually like that dish a lot. My burger was fantastic as usual, lots of bacon and cheese and a decent sized patty. I even got some fries extra to go. Refilled my drink too. Applebee's is not quite the super bargain deal it once was, but at least they still have the 1/2 off happy hour appetizers from 3pm - 6pm everyday, not just weekdays!

What stood out most was how effortless she made it all look. Busy bar? No problem. Multiple guests needing attention? She was on it. She made everyone feel seen, welcomed, and taken care of. That level of professionalism mixed with genuine personality is rare, and Ginger has it in spades. Honestly, Applebee's is lucky to have her.
