Mushroom, pepperoni and sausage pizza

Union Bear Denton TX I'm on another business trip, and like always, my first move when arriving in a new city is to check my trusty Yelp to see what spots are worth trying. Union Bear caught my attention, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Walked in and immediately liked the atmosphere. Football and playoff baseball were on at the bar, which is always a plus in my book. They have a nice selection of house brewed beers, so I went with the No Coast IPA. I ordered a pizza, it was delicious! Good beer, delicious pizza, and sports on TV. What more can you ask for when you're traveling for work? I'm here in Denton for a week long business trip, and Union Bear definitely helped kick things off on a good note. Always enjoy finding a solid local spot when I'm away from home. Thanks, Union Bear, for a great start to my week in Texas! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Cheers!

What a great restaurant to go to when I visit my son at college! Just the right vibe between his restaurant needs and mine. Very clean and inviting interior with a great food and craft beer selections. I had the white pizza and although it wasn't the best white pizza I've had (it was more "carbonara" than cheese") - it was tasty. The rest of the family all loved their choices. We will definitely be back for a second visit really soon

Travel Eats: Denton. In town for a conference for work. Drove in and arrived around 8pm on a Sunday night and needed a place to grab a beer and bite. Union Bear had very high Yelp reviews and was open, so off we went...and were we glad that we did! Nice larger restaurant/brewery/bar with plenty of seating, TVs for football and an out of this world appetizer menu. In fact all we got was a couple of pints, a couple appetizers, and an order of fries. All were delicious! I was busy chatting with colleagues and winding down from the 4 hour drive, so I only got a pic of one of the appetizer- the Fried Mushrooms and they were AMAZING! They came in clusters of tiny mushrooms, not the typical presentation of fried mushrooms at most places. The batter was light and complimented the taste of the mushrooms well- did not overpower. The accompanying dipping sauce also added a nice touch, but they were delicious with or without the dip. We also got pretzel bites and beer cheese, which were also very delicious (sorry, no pic). Come to this conference here every year and will certainly be back to Union Bear next year!!!

What a great place! I had not been to Union Bear since visiting their Frisco location several years ago, and I am happy to say it is still a fantastic spot for drinks, food, and a fun atmosphere. We started at the bar as our reserved table wasn't ready yet. My husband already knew what beer he wanted but I was on the fence. I decided to try one of the frozen cocktails, but one was a little too sour and the other was a bit too sweet. The bartender suggested mixing the two together into what they called a "Fraddy," and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and helpful, which is something that seems harder and harder to find these days. They have TVs throughout the restaurant, making it a great place to catch a game, and we especially enjoyed watching the World Cup there. The outdoor patio is spacious and inviting, and I also appreciated that they accept reservations. Bella was an outstanding server who made excellent recommendations for our meal. The pizza was very tasty, although it was slightly undercooked for our preference. We also ordered a small Caesar salad, which was good but a little smaller than expected, so we will definitely order the large next time. Overall, we had a great experience and will absolutely be back!

We had dinner with friends at Union Bear Brewing Company last night, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us right away. From that point on, everything just kept getting better. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and lively. Our waitress, Erika, made the evening even more enjoyable with her exceptional service, friendly personality, and great sense of humor. She truly went above and beyond, and we'll definitely request her the next time we visit. If you haven't tried Union Bear Brewing Company yet, I highly recommend it. We're so happy to have such a fantastic restaurant and brewery so close to home!

Service was great! It was a slower night, tasty options / first visit. I liked the vibe- clean, casual. I had the Rueben, I did not care for their sauce- it's their version of thousand island. It was a little spicy for me...but I'm spice averse, lol. I would recommend!

Beer is very good and a nice variety, not overloaded with IPA like most craft breweries. Our server was great. High-energy and he knew the menu very well (food and beers). The food missed the mark a bit. The Reuben has their own sauce instead of a good thousand islands dressing and it wasn't great. A Reuben doesn't have interchangeable ingredients. It came with "salt and pepper" fries but these completely tasteless fries had neither (as in not a sprinkle of either). A salad was described as "OK". The atmosphere is casual, a little more upscale feeling inside compared to the look of the building's exterior.

I've always enjoyed Union Bear brews and since I was in town we weren't far from the brewery. The place was packed so you know they're doing something right. The food was great and so were those icy cold suds they are pushing out. Glad I could support a local brewery!

UB continues to be the best spot in Denton. It's great for family dinners, great for happy hours, great for watching a game. The service is unmatched - friendly, fast, fun, personable. The food is always good - high quality, well made, always the same high standard. The beer is, of course, the best thing about this place! Try all the draft beers you can!

We had stopped by to try the beer glad we did, this is now one of our local places. Good food, excellent staff very friendly. We enjoyed sitting by the kitchen We got a glimpse of everything coming out and are excited to head back soon. Tried many of the beer some were good and some fantastic. Great experience here are a few pictures. Travis

I'll start off saying the food here is surprisingly good for a bar. The pork rinds and shrimp tacos were great, I'd skip the pizza though. The service amazing. There's plenty of seating and super chill. I'd comeback again when I'm in the area.

We came here for my brother's 21st birthday. We had the beer flight; our server helped us choose the beers and we really liked everything we tried. The food was also very good, no complaints there. Our server was attentive. It was a nice and laid-back place for us to drink and eat and talk.

Ask the Community - Union Bear Brewing

Is there a minimum party size or minimum spending amount for private parties?

When I checked regarding a private party, it was $1000 minimum and a specific menu. That obviously could change at anytime.

Do you have to be 21 to enter, would my teenagers be able come with us to eat?

No. We are a full service restaurant and family friendly!

Plenty of seating was available when we visited in October, and the whole place was decked out in Halloween-themed decorations. Service was great, and there's a huge selection of drinks and food to choose from, so there's something for everyone. There's also plenty to do around the area, especially during Halloween, when Denton really comes alive with all the spooky vibes. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for a fun atmosphere and a bit of Halloween magic! The team serving the tables was dressed up for Halloween too. Food and service were great! LSA Burgers had pretty good reviews on Yelp and a beer and a burger sounded great to my crew. The restaurant is right on the square in downtown Denton. It just so happened to October and Denton goes ALL OUT for Halloween (we had no idea, but it was AWESOME!!!). This place has rooftop bar and seating so we posted-up up there, but not until I took in all the cool music related decor downstairs. Finally, the food. First, the most of the menu items had a Texas Music Twist, which was fun! While I have pics of everyone's food, I cannot comment on the names (I don't remember) and I didn't eat them, so not comments on those other than they were very happy with their selections. For me, I got the Stevie burger (Stevie Ray Vaughn namesake) and it was absolutely delicious. The burger had bacon, blue cheese, and a buffalo (wing) sauce and it was SO YUMMY! It hit all the right notes, I savored every bite, chewing slowly. The bun was absolutely incredible and "made" the burger! Soft and pillowy, yet had a subtle crisp so it held up well, even with the buffalo sauce could have made it soggy. After we ate, we did a round of shots of tequila in time for their "sunset toast"- which was a fun little community activity to share with all of the patrons on the roof. Just a fun vibe!!! We left and explored all of the Halloween coolness on the downtown square with happy, full bellies! Great food, great friends, great spot!!!

A Truly Special Birthday Experience…read more We visited this restaurant to celebrate my son's 16th birthday with a large table of nine, and it turned out to be an incredibly special experience. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every steak was cooked to perfection, and every one of the boys said it was one of the best meals they had ever had. The Wagyu steak was particularly memorable--one of the boys actually had tears in his eyes because of how incredible it tasted! The service was exceptional as well. The owner Rick personally came out to greet our table, which made the evening feel very personal and welcoming. The highlight for the boys was when Chef Anton came out with a special palate cleanser featuring house-made sorbet paired with goat cheese and pistachios. It was such a thoughtful and unique touch. The boys were so impressed with Chef Anton that they asked to take a picture with him afterward. From the incredible food to the warm hospitality and those unexpected special touches, this was so much more than just a dinner. It was a memorable experience that made my son's 16th birthday truly special. We are so grateful and will definitely be back!

The food was all pretty good for the most part not wowed but good! I have no complaints about my plate; it came with a great portion of food and was reasonably priced for BBQ. I ordered pulled pork and a side of corn and tomato salad and coleslaw. The sides were different from what I've had before, but I did enjoy them. Their coleslaw is more vinegar than mayo-forward. The pulled pork was well-seasoned, and the side of BBQ was the perfect match. My margarita tasted as if they made the mix in-house, and I prefer this. Store-bought mixers are usually either too sweet or too sour. However, if it is store-bought, I'm impressed! This was not a sweet margarita. My partner went for the Tennessee Texas Hot Sandwich; I did try it. There was hardly any heat despite it being their spicy chicken sandwich. I'm not sure if they make their chips in house but it seemed so.
