This was my very first time hiring anybody to do any sort of landscaping work. I was ignorant going…read moreinto it so I had to lean heavily into the landscapers expertise on what would be best for what I wanted to achieve. After getting a few quotes, I chose Lee's Concrete because he impressed me the most with the ideas he presented, not being pushy or sales-y, while also staying competitive price wise. He is also officially licensed for concrete. The project started around May 2025, and completed towards the end of July 2025. It consisted of concrete pouring, artificial turf installation, irrigation routing and laying out gravel/river rocks in planting areas. Also, a 2D layout diagram was provided for me to submit to HOA for approval. Below is a list of critiques ranked starting with my biggest letdowns: #1) WEEDS. Not via the concrete, but the artificial turf that was laid out. Lee offered artificial turf installs during my contractor search. My main reason for getting artificial turf was to have little-to-no maintenance. But, mines constantly has weeds growing out of the edges due the gap in the ends not being sealed. My next door neighbor had artificial turf installed by another landscaper and never has any weeds growing out of the edges ever. They had theirs installed after mine. Maybe it was my fault for not communicating that need initially. But at the same time, I thought having artificial turf laid out and it preventing weed growth on the edges would be a given. #2) Blotchy concrete coloring on front yard. My backyard's concrete coloring was pretty consistent and I was very happy with how it turned out. But my front yard was very blotchy and inconsistent. I was told that this is normal and will take about a year to cure and to give it time. Another reason was for differing "pH levels" for the area where the concrete was laid. Well... a year has passed and it has kind of improved here and there, but not so much in other parts. So, I'm a little hesitant to believe it that is actually the reason. It doesn't make sense to me that all the concrete laid out in my entire neighborhood doesn't look as bad as how it looks on my driveway. Structurally, it's fine. But it is a bit of an eye-sore looking at it every time I'm in my front yard. #3) I felt like I spent more time than I needed to checking for imperfections. A main one was my vinyl fence and cinder block wall getting dirty from the concrete pours. Another big one was the cinder block retaining wall in my backyard not being symmetrical on the edges. I had to call it out a few times to even get it fixed. Once it was finally fixed, my vinyl fence had residue from the cinderblock wall fix. By that time, I had gotten fatigue from having to constantly call out imperfections and let that one go. #4) You don't really know when the landscapers will come out to do the work. If I remember correctly, they would come out most weekdays. But, you wouldn't know if they would show up the next day or not. Not too big of a deal honestly. I'm more picky about this because I like to keep the side gate to my backyard locked and not knowing when to unlock it in the morning was just a tiny annoyance. I ended up just unlocking it first thing in the morning and locking it in the evening every weekday. Overall, I'd rate the project a 3 or 3.5 out of 5 - which I think is a very fair assessment. I'm relatively happy how it looks at the end. But there were a few bumps along the way which is why I cannot give a 5 out of 5. It pains me to write the above critiques and not be able to give the highest rating because Lee and the rest of his team were all very nice people. But there definitely could've have been improvements for the entire project.

We had already adjusted our original 12:00-2:00 PM appointment to accommodate your request to move it earlier after you reached out yesterday. This is not a great first impression, and the communication has been less than ideal. We set aside time from our workday to be available during the agreed appointment window. I understand schedules can get busy, but so do your clients'.

This including fixing a leaking irrigation pipe, exchanging the irrigation smart panel, and inspecting the wiring from the panel to the irrigation valves. After the system was up and running again he observed the sprinkler heads and fixed the heads that were not spraying well. A task that felt monumental for me he took care of with ease. Mikes price was very reasonable and he was a pleasure to work with.

We put in paving stones throughout the entire yard, installed a beautiful patio cover with fans and overhead lighting, relocated our AC unit, and a built-in fire pit. My initial plan was to repair the area but soon became clear that aesthetically, it would not be the right decision. So I reached out to several businesses via Yelp. The first company that came to my home was Dave Pratt Designs. It's a family business, Dave is the dad and his kids are in college and are EXTREMELY involved in the business as well. They were the ones that initially came to my home. They showed up on time, dressed professionally and were extremely knowledgeable. They set the bar EXTREMELY high as most other companies were not as professional and I did not feel comfortable with their presentation. Also, the price point was more than fair with Dave Pratt. Once my HOA approved the drawings they provided, we scheduled a mutually convenient time for the install. There was a crew of 5-6 people at my home for 2-3 days working in 90 degree heat from 8:00am - 6:00pm non stop. They were incredibly professional and the quality of work EXCEEDED my expectations. I cannot recommend this business enough. Just absolutely fantastic in every aspect and every way imaginable. Much appreciated Dave, Andrew, Matthew, and the crew.

I wanted Lavender and and a few other plants for my garden and they showed me where things were and answered all my questions. I love the things I bought there. The plants are in the ground now and very happy. The vase I got is so pretty. They have everything you need to make a stunning garden and they can suggest landscapers if you ask. I bought a lemon tree there some time ago and it is healthy and gives lots of lemons. I can't recall if I had it delivered or I had our truck with us, but I do think they will deliver the big trees. Parking is easy in their lot and the area is clean.

Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. The contract was written with the amount of detail that the customer appreciates, especially with a project that involves so many elements. We especially liked working with Jonathan, our project manager, who always kept us informed and responded to our inquiries in a timely manner. We also found the employees to be extremely hard-working and friendly. They left the property clean after each work day. We would use this company again for our next landscape project.

Really unfortunate, because I would have been a return customer if he had handled this correctly. Have the sod was not growing, and the other half was growing quickly which looked terrible. Also, the was no water coverage in the center of the lawn which caused a area where the grass started dying unless I manually watered it with the hose. When I brought this up he said he'll come fix whatever areas need to be addressed. However, like I mentioned above, he just stopped responding and answering his phone.

The city didn't make the project easy requiring all sorts of hoops to jump through but Roy and his team handled it from needing an engineer, to an epoxy referee and multiple inspections/requirements. When we got to the work, the team was prompt, took pride in their work and did a great job. Wayne and Martin I'd argue rebuilt the wall with better quality than the original 60yo wall and you'd struggle to find where the work was done now. The project came in on the estimate, the communication was great and we were treated like friends/family and not just a customer. The work was fantastic and right on schedule.
