I set an appointment to meet with Andy on October 10th. I walked him through my entire home as I needed to remodel it all (kitchen, two bathrooms, windows, flooring, paint, etc,.). Said he would get back to me in a few days. I followed up a week later, then 2 weeks later, and never heard back. Fast forward to January, still haven't heard back. Left numerous voice mails and sent texts requesting a call back but never heard from him again. A call back or a txt stating he wouldn't be able to work with me would've been great. Shows how professional they are. I'm glad I found this out before contracting with them and not half way through a project. You welcome someone into your home, give them an opportunity to earn your business and they don't have the courtesy or professionalism to ever get back to you. My recommendation is that you get at least three bids so you don't settle with someone like this, if they ever happen to get back to you.... read more

I was excited to find a local contractor just down the street from where I grew up. I called and had a good conversation about my project. Them seemed very interested so we set up an appointment for them to come out and provide a quote. I sent a text on the morning of the appointment to confirm. They did not respond. I called several times with no response. I called again that evening to find what happened. I had taken a day off work to meet with them and I was disappointed that they ghosted me. I guess I should not have been surprised after reading their reviews. Please show respect and courtesy to your prospective clients. If you can't make it or you to busy, let us know. Daniel. Afterwards I check my email and found out that at 12pm the same day, he sent me an email saying he won't be able to make it. Really?? Only 6 hours notice via email? I told him I would've appreciated a call, since I gave him my number in my previous email and he replies with some bs saying "he didn't know I wished to communicate via calls bc we've only communicate via email thus far". Really? So unprofessional. If you have to change plans within a 24 hr period, give the person a call. Why would you limit yourself to only email? Not everyone checks their email by the hour. Anyway, we rescheduled and he came by the following week for the estimate. This time, he arrived on time. His demeanor in person was ok, seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I told him my budget was $30k and he said my project would be well over $30k and quoted me $50k for all the work I wanted done. He admitted that his company is green and uses green material only bc some materials are dangerous for our health. I personally am an advocate for green awareness, but his initial lack of professionalism threw me off. I would give him 1 star for the initial bs, but an additional star bc he wasn't bad in person. Next time, pls just be a responsible business owner, fess up and apologize for not contacting via phone. Don't give customers some bs. This is a rant, obviously. I needed a ceiling joist cut to box out an opening for a whole house fan. I called a few contractors. The others didn't even return my call. Andy answered right away, and came over that afternoon to give me a quote. He then quickly scheduled a date to come over for the work. I had to reschedule, and they accommodated me. Andy communicated with me via text message, and always writes back immediately (except when I sent him a flirty text meant for my wife ...oops!). When they came out they got the job done in less than two hours, and cleaned up everything better than how it was when they showed up. Andy followed up the next day after I had the fan installed to make sure everything worked well. We will call Greenwise in the future for a quote on a kitchen remodel. read more

I don't know why I delayed so long to write a review for them. Andy and his dad are the rare type of contractors who are honest, professional, reasonably priced and reliable. He and his team helped us so much when I was trying to fixing up a property for sell in the Rowland Heights area last year. Our buyer was super picky and constantly asking us to fix things here and there during the escrow process. Andy came by several times on very short notice (one time he came by in a few hours) to fix things up and he only charged us his regular rate, not some "emergency rate" that's 2x more. He and his dad also stayed past their regular hours in order to complete certain tasks on time for us. Because we're in a hurry to sell the property at the time, we're trying to satisfy the buyer in order to move forward with the escrow process, Andy and his dad stayed until 9 or 10pm one time in order to finish one task on time. Not all contractors are willing to do that. He's also prompt with giving me estimates on time and his estimates are clearly printed, easy to read. If you ever dealt with contractors, you know these two qualities are sorely missing from many of them. The only downside I'll say is that his drywall texture work is a hit or miss. None of them turn out bad, but sometimes the drywall patch work is flawless, I can't notice it at all while other times I can see it's has been patched b/c the texture didn't match perfectly. Other than this, we are very happy with his work. Overall, I think he's one of the best contractors I have even used. And I've met PLENTY of contractors before and since. I've renovated 3 properties since moving out of the Rowland Heights area. Now it's a PITA to get things done b/c we haven't found a contractor like him in our vicinity. read more

Great people! I'm renting a small place in Pasadena and I needed help with getting rid of an old non working wall heater. I figured it would be impossible, or a much more expensive job. I got a quote in two hours, and had them scheduled to come the next weekend. The weekend came and the workers showed up 10 minutes after I expected them. I'm glad I got a call from Andy telling me they would be 15 minutes late. The job was done according to schedule and the workers were very polite. It's been over 3 weeks since Andy came out to look at what I wanted to have done. He showed up about an hour early without calling first. Luckily, I had just gotten home. I gave him a written description of the work. He looked at it and said having this was a good idea. It would protect both him and me from misunderstandings I had high hopes after talking with him for a while. I had asked Andy if he could come over to do a quote for adding crown moulding to 5 rooms in my home. After talking with 2 other contractors and reviewing their quotes not only did I feel more confident and at ease with Greenwise Construction their quote was also lower than the two other competitive quotes and they would work around my schedule. Andy wasn't pushy and listened to my expectations and specific needs. He was straightforward, very professional, and easy to talk with. I can't say enough about GreenWise and their team!! I started by getting 4 different estimates for a load bearing wall to be removed. Andy came out and walked me through what we would need, as well as gave me an estimate. Our wall has been removed now, and Andy and his team took great care in making sure all necessary equipment and hardware was used to secure the wall. Andy even suggested he bring out a plumber to make sure all plumbing was done correctly!! Everyone involved with GreenWise have been nothing but professional, honest, friendly and organized. As you can see in my profile I do not write many reviews. I use Yelp quite often, but I hardly ever come back to write a review. However, after working with Greenwise Construction I needed write something. My husband and I have been living in our house close to 10 years, and every year right around June we always talk about remodeling but never got around to it. Finally, after our little family expansion, we decided to take the plunge because we needed more room for our twin girls to roam around. Once again I took to Yelp in search of a contractor. I read reviews upon reviews, for contractors near and far. Nobody really caught my eye. I tried calling a couple of places, they either couldn't understand what I was saying, or didn't care to drive to where we were located to give an estimate. I left a msg for Andy at Greenwise, and just assumed that he wasn't available. I received a return call that same day and set an appointment for that weekend for the estimate. When Andy came to estimate our house, we had these grand ideas of adding square footage to the house. Thinking that was the best way to add more room. Andy offered some good ideas and said he would draw up plans for us and give us an estimate. He sent us the estimate and our eyes practically popped out of our heads. We also had several other estimates for the expansion, and they were all generally in the same price range, which was completely out of our budget. After much thought my husband and I decided to just open up the space we have, take down some walls and some windows to create an open living space. Once again we had a few contractors come back to the house to estimate. One of them (a so called friend of a friend) told us that it would be too expensive to add a beam to reinforce the opened kitchen and living space, he told us just to work on the patio. But that wasn't what we completely wanted. We had Andy come back out and take some measurements, he also offered us ideas of how to make the space open and more liviable. We asked him if it was too expensive to open the kitchen up to the living space, and if the beam would cost too much. He said he will need to check on the cost of the beam, but it shouldn't be too expensive. That following week, he had his team come out and inspect the space so that he can give us a true estimate of the cost. The estimate was within our budget (a very tight one), so we agreed, signed the dotted line, and work begun on Monday. At the onset of the construction I let Andy know that we only have 30 days to complete the project. We initially thought that we just needed to be out of the house for a week, turns out I am glad we spent the entire project out of the house. My other concern throughout the project was the budget, hearing so many horror stories of spending more than anticipated. But through every step of the way Andy always advised us when there would an increased cost (that was very rare, anything above the cost were changes that we wanted and asked for). Since we had an open concept living space we wanted to add an island to the mix. Andy had mentioned that they do customized cabinets, but my husband and I thought that it would be easier and cheaper to pick up something prefab. We searched around for an island that fit our style and budget, but came up with nothing. We just decided to have Andy do the island, and thank goodness we did. The island came out spectacular. Another good thing is that Andy and I had the same design taste (down to the sunglasses we both wore)! I know this is a lengthy review, but our ultimate descision to go with Andy's team was the best thing ever. They were on budget, on target, and always cleaned up after themselves (they even cleaned our stove). I recommend them many times over. The remodel has now allowed us more room for our babies to play in, and our fur babies to enjoy!!! read more

Andy returned my call immediately and said he would be out at around six that day to give me an estimate. I was able to text him my address and he was right on time. Later that evening he emailed the estimate to me. We agreed on the work to be done two days later at my request. He arrived timely with his Uncle and Father who were all very nice and knowledgeable. Once the work was done he showed me what the problem was and how it was fixed and wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. Greenwise construction is by far the most honest, hard working, and dedicated group of guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I am a buyer for a living and am required to break down cost, provide analysis, and bargain with vendors -of all walks of life- for the most cost effective products and services. I had gathered various quotes from different companies but could tell the profit margins were through the roof. Greenwise came out on top as the best option and cheapest price. I dealt for the most part with Alfredo and Daniel Chavez; Andy as well. Alfredo and Daniel were by far the most professional and well rounded contractors I've ever come across. They were very honest, they worked extremely well with the budget given to them, and have my utmost confidence. It was evident that they made personal sacrifices to dedication and the utmost highest quality; their priority is client satisfaction! They never said no to anything we asked (we changed our minds quite a bit) through out the project. The City inspector has asked me for their information to begin contracting them. This inspector is one the toughest and will ding you with any infraction(my neighbor can verify). We never got rejected by the City (Downey) and were constantly admired by the quality of work provided by Greenwise. These guys are not narrow minded and provide many options regardless of the circumstance. Greenwise added a 10 ' x 10' bathroom and a 10' x 8' laundry room. They installed Crema Marfil marble walls and imported Durango Travertine floors with crown molding all around. They installed an imported Danish Dual bathroom sink! The logistics for plumbing, electrical and gas were excellent. They installed a brand new electrical box, and a state of the art tankless water heater. These guys went above and beyond my expectations! My bathroom can stand toe to toe with any 5 star hotel! My wife and I cant stop walking into the bathroom everyday and admiring the craftsmanship. WE ARE IN AW!!! We will be extending our living space, adding wood floors, update lighting and re-do our kitchen in the future. The only contractors to ever step foot on my home is Greenwise Construction! I have no words to express the gratitude for the services provided.
