You can expect Salvador to be MIA for the entire project. Salvador does not actually do any of the physical work. This would probably not be such a problem if he were a good communicator. Unfortunately he is horrible at getting back to text messages, does not answer your questions and we had to tell him what we wanted multiple times which was either forgotten or ignored. He just doesn't care if an issue arises. The only time we saw him was when he would come by to pick up payments. The work he completed was shoddy. Pipes were left exposed and dangerously protruding from the ground, wiring was mickey mouse and he clearly uses the cheapest materials available. We have already spent over a thousand dollars fixing his mistakes. I anticipate having to spend much more. Save yourself the frustration and headache and go with someone more professional, organized and knows what they are doing. You will save money in the long run.

Fear! That was why I never had done remodeling before. You hear all the horror stories of bad…read morecontractors - taking too long, doing a half-assed job, while going 50% over budget. Then, I got a slab leak. No choice but to do something. I have two bathrooms. At the time, they could have been on "world's worst bathrooms"; hideous 1970's "décor" with disco lighting and stained, pattern linoleum flooring. The shower stall had a plastic, accordion-style door with magnets on each end (who DOES that?!). I figured, whatever a contractor does, can't be worse. Then, I found Zachi of S & B Construction on yelp. Best thing I ever did for my home was to call Zachi. My house and my quality of enjoyment of it, and my view of what a contractor can be, have completely and utterly changed. I could tell from the moment he came over to do the bid he was great, and he only exceeded all my expectations throughout the job. He and his team completely gutted both baths, and now I have two bathrooms that are essentially luxury hotel baths. They are beautifully done (everyone says so!). He put in stone tile showers (with glass accent tile - it's so awesome!), a deep soaking tub, custom glass shower doors, stone floors, wood vanities with granite countertops, and custom lighting. They're bright and colorful (that's my taste!), and it makes me happy just to enter the rooms. The job was done from start to finish in three weeks. Yes, that fast! That included Zachi arranging for the plumbing inspections and everything. We never had to worry about any of it! Zachi was there every step of the way, from design (he met up with us to buy the materials - it was great!) to finishing touches, and we could not have done it without him. Actually, his intuition is terrific, because he even had some better ideas than we did! I liked all the workers on his team. They were polite and courteous, very hard working, and always on time. Zachi was constantly supervising their progress, as well as always available and responsive to questions. Here's what I'm certain of. Zachi wants the customer to be happy. I asked lots of questions and wanted specific things. I only ever had to ask for something once; Zachi ALWAYS remembered without my reminding him of things and always got them done! Even things I just mentioned once during the bid got done. This is important, too. He always left us with a "usable" house during the renovation. Although he did both baths, he staggered the demolition and renovation, so we always had the basic facilities. At night and especially on weekends, he'd make sure the house was cleaned up enough for us to do what we needed. Budget? The job was done to the budget on the nose (I went over by a few hundred, because I picked out an extra accent tile), even though things happened (e.g., the plumber had to put in an access panel for one of the showers). The budget was extremely detailed (way more than any others we had been given), so you knew exactly what to expect. Amazing! On a personal level, Zachi is smart, super nice and pleasant to work with. I can't thank Zachi enough. Bad day at work, I head to my gorgeous soaking tub, the world falls away and aaaahhhhh! Can't beat that. I love my house. Actually, it's more of a home now. I have called a couple of handymen in the past, but one came once to look at them but then didn't show up on the next appointment. The other one's schedule didn't work out. After that, I was discouraged and had put off these projects. Thanks for the other yelp users' reviews, I found Zachi. He was fast and professional and in and out of my house 3 times within 3 days in total and both sets of shower sliding doors are now fixed. He charges by hours, but his charge was very ethical and reasonable. I felt that he undercharged me. We hadn't used one of the showers for years because the shower doors were falling apart, so I am so grateful that it's finally fixed.

But when it was clear that my father in law's…read more68 year old roof was ready to step down from service, I did what any reasonable person looking into a new roof would do. I reached out to 37 contractors at once. I know, I know. But hear me out. I did this with the mindset that all these people had to do was follow some simple instructions. They all got the same form letter which explained our circumstances, budget concerns, communication and availability preferences. I figured as long as everyone simply had basic reading comprehension, common sense, and common courtesy, I'd be able to quickly amass a wide selection of estimates, and go from there. Folks, let me tell ya...I was descended upon like white on rice. Ants to sugar. Bears to honey. Me to a fridge brownie at 3am during a diet. And so fourth. The form letter asked prospective contractors to email me directly. Most responded through yelp. That ruled them out immediately. I'm sorry, but when all I ask is to do the simple thing...and you start off by ignoring the simple thing.... The form latter specified I prefer to communicate via email rather than over the phone. Half immediately asked for my phone number urging for a call that very same day to "lock in a quote", and all the usual high pressure crap. They were removed from the pool too. Yes, just like that. If you find that unreasonable, I don't know what to tell you. People have preferences for a reason. And when they really aren't asking much of you in the first place, it stands to reason it's wise to abide by them in order to show someone you aren't dismissive of their needs. The form letter made mention that while we reside in location A, the home in need of work was in location B, which happens to be a 130 mile round trip. Needless to say, I wasn't going to meet up in person with 37 contractors. Or 27 contractors. Or 17, or even 7 if I could help with. Because *I* don't need to be there. I'm not a roofer, nor am I going up on the roof. Anything I need to know can be said or shown via email or text. It's 2026. My generation is terrified of phone calls. When it actually rings we throw it across the room and hide under the covers until it stops. Come on now. When the dust settled, only two companies remained. One of them was MGMP. I won't mention the name of the second contractor, and I don't want to specify the exact deciding factor between the two, because I don't want everyone reading this review to assume that our circumstances are applicable to them. I will just say that the non-MGMP finalist said that we needed to do something which would have put us severely over budget and put a halt to our effort altogether, while MGMP felt otherwise, and provided us with an option which was feasible enough to allow us to move forward, with the understanding that there *may* be additional expenses depending on what all is found after removing the roof altogether, but we could proceed from there. This was perfectly reasonable. I will admit, at first that felt like a red flag. But after speaking with Johnathan, I decided to trust him, because I have an overly sensitive BS meter and it was sound asleep, which is rare amidst these sort of circumstances. Once the roof was off, the only additional expense beyond our initial quote was $700 to cover some additional materials. I was expecting *much* worse, and was relieved beyond measure. Fortunately for me, MGMP has integrity, and is true to their word. Johnathan sent a series of comprehensive photos and videos showing absolutely all the trouble spots of concern, which he didn't even have to do. I never asked, but he did it anyway, just to be transparent. The whole process had them swoop in early 02/26/26 and they finished mid-day by 02/28/26. And this was not a rush job. Johnathan works with a small army who worked two FULL days (sunrise to sunset) and then some, as well as the time it took to wrap it all up on day three. He sent photos the day it was done, and the work looked immaculate. My father in law isn't doing so hot, and he's well into his golden years. As his time on this giant floating rock winds down, his only major wish and preference is to simply stay in his own home for as long as possible. His home needs a lot of love, and when it was clear we needed to look into a new roof for him asap, we honestly didn't think we'd be able to make it happen. Thanks to MGMP Construction, not only does he now have a new roof, allowing him to stay put doing internet genealogy and playing Peggle on his desktop to his hearts content, but he can stay *home*, where he feels safe. That means everything to him, and just as much to us. So to the team at MGMP Construction and to Johnathan in particular, thank you. You haven't just given someone a new roof, but peace of mind and a reminder that there are still plenty of good people out there, with businesses you can actually trust.
