We recently hired Ultimate Construction Remodelers in 2024 to work on our home, and we couldn't be happier with the results! We bought an older home from the original owner which needed significant upgrades and repairs. Little was done on our house since 1965. Ultimate Construction Remodelers is a family owned business who are licensed general contractors with an electrical license also so they perform most of the work themselves without subcontracting it out. They completely re-did the sewer line, plumbing and electrical systems and their team were punctual, communicative, and highly skilled. We have now lived in our house for 6 months and have had no issues with their work-everything is running smoothly and perfectly in the house from the plumbing to the electrical. They also make sure their work is permitted and inspected as required by the City. They took the time to listen to our needs, offer expert advice, and kept us updated throughout the project. In the upstairs bathroom I changed the tub to a walk-in shower and changed the single sink to a double sink. Along the way, Tony had suggestions of what he thought would work and I am glad I went along with it because my bathroom turned out beautiful. First let me start by thanking the UCR family (Tony, Rich, Ricky, Alex, Tony Jr.) for their excellent work on my home project recently completed!!! I had a pretty big project which consisted of a porch landing/roof demo to be re-built and a previously built two bedroom addition that required a new roof frame-in with electrical relocations/ducting. They were like family on my project every day for around 1.5mos and never any issues!! Tony/UCR are very intelligent and will get your project completed on-time and installed the right way the first time! This of course comes with a price. But it's worth it in my opinion. My fatal mistake was I went with a different Architect for Approved Architectural Engineering drawings (20% PE) and there was some glaring errors & omissions!!! This cost me $$$$ in change orders but it was no fault of Tony/UCR. If your project does require drawings your engineer better be good and/or just use Tony's engineer to save headaches! We had an old house that not only needed updating but also expansion. We expanded every room and added my mother her own living room and attached bathroom. UCR came in and made our bedrooms and bathrooms gorgeous! Along the way we found that our electrical and plumbing needed to be redone and they took care of that also, obviously at a price but they were able to continue work without needing to call in a plumber or electrician, which is great! Where do I start? I have been trying to work with Tony for the past few weeks. He came to provide an estimate for three jobs. The first job I needed to get done was to remove and install a front door to my house and he didn't measure it and essentially eyeballed the dimensions. Me and my wife went to Home Depot with the dimensions he provided us to order the door but they needed the exact dimensions. Meaning the trim needed to be removed and I called Tony informing him if he could come to my house to provide me the appropriate measurements since the door will be a special order. He wanted to charge me a service fee of $100 to go back which caught me off guard because as a "business owner" he should either taken accountability, apologize and not charge the customer for his misjudgment. Tony mentioned he wanted to charge me for his "time and gas to drive to my house." His business approach of charging me was alarming which caused me to ask for an official quote with any fees included and not a general quote through text. He never responded back to me via text. How he handled the situation seems like he doesn't have a lot of experience or financial capital to be counting pennies for three possible jobs that can cost anywhere from $30,000 to $40,000 his customer service and attitude is not a great effective business approach. What caused me to write a review on yelp was I wanted to give him one more chance by calling him today (even though he never responded back to me via text) and the moments I tried explain my position he would interrupt me, and he eventually hung up on me. As a customer, we trust that business owners/contractors provide some guidance, customer service/customer centricity, and a certain level of professionalism. It was a long process getting things done at the house. But the guys at this construction company are very thorough and very particular about their work. We first started off with just getting a wall removed in our kitchen. But had some other things done while they were here Like the remodeling of our guest bathroom which they did an amazing job with from start to finish. I appreciate their work ethics. They arrived on time they left on time. They cleaned up after themselves. Anything that was left over in the garage they always make sure it was pushed to the side so we could move our cars in. They were very conscientious of our limited space. And just worked around the clock Monday through Friday. From 8am to 4pm I will have to say that they're a little higher than we had expected. If I had gotten other bids probably would have saved some $$ and that's just to be honest but you pay for what you get. My example would be that my kitchen was not done right the first time and I didn't go with a license contractor and he left a tremendous mess and I didn't still didn't get the kitchen that I desired. But ultimate construction remodeling came in and did some touch-up work as much as they could and they gave me a beautiful new island with electric and nice drawers and cabinet space. My guest bathroom is beautiful from start to finish very very meticulous about their work. They pride themselves on their work. They pride themselves on doing a good job the first time and everything will last a lifetime. So I think when you're looking for value and saving money, those are all good things. Yes but you also want to make sure you get someone who's reliable who's honest. They may not be within your price range. But do you want the work done right the first time so you don't have to have someone come back a second time and I can tell you from just looking at my kitchen right now and just looking at my bathroom I won't be calling these guys back to do ANY type of touch-ups because everything was done right the first time so I'm going to share some pictures. This review is only about my experience and exists to inform the potential customer of what to expect when considering this particular contractor. I decided to give Tony a shot after perusing his website, videos, and the reviews posted here. I understand that Tony's busy, which is indeed a good thing - and so am I. I work 13hrs a day so I every bit of free time I have is extremely valuable. His usual hours for project walkthroughs are Tues-Thurs 9AM - 2PM , which conflicts with my work schedule. I asked if Tony could break from convention and meet me on a day I am free and we both agreed on Saturday 10AM. Fast forward to Saturday morning and I get a last minute message that something important (more important than a potential customer) came up and he would have to postpone the visit. I thought, "OK he could have at least let me know in advance so I didn't waste a day, but oh well - stuff happens." I did not pry and did not inquire on what it was that made him reschedule the visit because it is not my business. I decided to give him a second chance and we scheduled the visit for the same time next Saturday. By this time I am behind a week on getting a bid on the project, and Saturday rolls around. Once again I have pushed all commitments aside to prepare myself for Tony's visit @ 10AM. 10AM comes - nothing. I send a message at 10:21 and get a response saying he was held up at a site and would not be able to meet, and wanted to know if I was available around 4:30PM. Irritated that no consideration was given towards my time, I explained to him the importance of my time and how agreements are honored and thanked him for his time. The response I received was "u do know its a free estimate right?" This was an insult on my intelligence and I decided not to continue further. I could have saved 2 weeks if Tony was honest and said he would not be 100% sure he could meet me on those days. I would have been fine with that and gone our separate ways. I will not work with people who promise one thing and do another, I just don't have the time for it. I am held accountable for promptness daily at my job and held accountable for the agreements and promises I make to my customers - paying or not. I know that as busy as I may be - my customer's time is just as valuable if not more valuable than mine. If I really want the business - I perform the due diligence required to win it. They have remodeled a kitchen in one of our Bell Gardens units, they also did vinyl windows and sliding doors at our Montebello complex. They also did an entire unit remodel in south-gate. I had 3 contractors bid my kitchen remodel. Tony and the guys came in the lowest. As a general rule be careful with low bids as many times they are way to draw you in then you get milked. But Tony, Rick and Ricky were very professional. I soon learned that the reason they can do the job cheaper than others is they actual do all the work. Most Generals sub out the work and tack their fee on top of the subs work. They helped us make decisions during the process with daily updates so we were always informed of the progress. First contractor I've ever seen that was on site everyday! They did our project in record time while making needed repairs to our house along the way. They even accommodated our schedule. I've worked around the trades for years and even have family and friends in the trades but would still hire Tony, Ricardo and Ricky every time. As a chief engineer of an Aerospace company and wife who's attention to detail is second to none, we were very meticulous in choosing a contractor that was familiar with all facets of construction , city codes, schedules and costs. After vetting several contractors for our major remodeling our master & hall bathrooms, a total renovation of our heating/AC system and a much needed upgrade of our 100A electrical panel we decided to go with Ultimate Construction. Tony and his crew worked around us, our kids & our pets every day from the morning to the evening until the job was completed and inspected by the city (fully permitted). We couldn't be happier and more pleased with Tony's, Richard's, Ricky's & RC's craftsmanship and attention to detail. The demolition, framing, plumbing, tiling, electrical, drywall/texturing and fixture finishing were first rate. Every time we enter our bathrooms we feel like we're in a resort. In fact our city's inspectors commented that they never seen such professional work and attention to detail. Our new heater furnace, AC compressor unit, air ducts, & wifi thermostat work together as a system and they function very efficiently and quietly. In fact our city's code enforcement required our heating/AC system not only to be inspected by their own inspector but they required certification & testing by a California designated inspector. Our Heating/AC system passed these inspections with flying colors. In addition, our new 200A electrical panel allows our home to expand our electrical needs for the future and resolve all of our wiring issues. After each day's work, Tony and the team would clean up and provide us with a status of the work and the plan for the next day. Again my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with Ultimate Construction and will not hesitate to go with Tony & his crew for future needs. By far the most detailed contracting company I've hired. Tony, Richard and Ricky are really professionals and allow their work to speak for themselves. My family and I know our kitchen will last for years because of there work ethic. There creativity is by far the best, they were able to adjust and create a new design so my fridge can properly fit into our design. If I could give them more then 5 stars I would! Ultimate Construction remodeled our second story Bathroom. Tony and his brother and Nephew are Professionals. I was impress with their work ethics . They showed up on time every day, and did a beautiful job on my Bathroom. I had bids that were less. , they are more pricey, but they did a wonderful job. I'm not sure I would of had as good of a job done and the professionalism. read more
