This place is such a cool spot. They offer a little something for everyone. From Mexican style food, smash burgers at BunSlut, chicken tenders and sandwiches from SideChicks, cakes and ice cream, and a little bar for beer and cocktails; this place everything you could want. Service from all establishments were friendly. Some were a little slower than others but overall a good experience. I would definitely coke back the next time I'm in H-Town

This food hall is a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Houston There are plenty of different food options to choose from. Each vendor has their own space. There are plenty of tables and seating in the food hall (downstairs). There are bars as well as foodie spots. Off to the side there are a few arcade games you can play if you're wanting to pass time. There are also TVs around the hall playing sporting events and other televised events. The space is dimly lit, but it has a fun atmosphere The vendors at Under ground are: - Wokker (Asian cuisine with a Texas Twist) - Birria Los Primos (birria) - Rick & Tommy's (sandwiches & fried foods) - Luv 'Em (Tres Leches) - The Daily Boba (Boba Teas and Treats) - BunSlut (burgers, fries, and shakes) Some tips: If you are having a night on the town and feel peckish, I would swing by to grab a bite to eat. We didn't stay too long, and I wish I had tried Wokker, Rick & Tommy's, or Birria. There are happy hour/daily specials at the bars. I remember one of them was $1 shots of champagne Cheers!!

Bluebonnet French 75. St. Arnold's Grand Prize (lager)

Searching for food in Downtown Houston brought us to the Underground Hall. It's a smallish place with a handful of food vendors. We tried three! To start the evening, we ordered drinks from the bar. Bluebonnet French 75 for me and St. Arnold's Grand Prize lager for the spouse. My cocktail wasn't bad but the bubbly wasn't so bubbly. I suppose it was because it was the end of the day and the champagne may have been open for quite a few hours. I'd order this again just to get a bubblier cocktail. The hubby says the lager was just "ok" and would order something else. The bar has an extensive menu so I'm sure there's something for everyone! Enjoy!

Really cool spot in downtown Houston. They have a full bar with lots of beer on tap and a few different food concepts to try. I tried the sliders from Bun Slut that were very yummy and the Underground Blonde from the bar. Both were delicious! There are TVs and a few different game machines you can play. Would come back if I was in Houston again.

It's worth the drive downtown! Love these tacos. There are serval options to choose from, yet I always gravitate to the taco spot. Reasonably priced made to order tacos that are bursting with flavor. The salsa on the side proceed with caution if you don't like spice. I love spicy things, so I was in love. It added the perfect touch of heat. Be sure to go after 6pm for free Street parking and be warm of the lunch time rush.

In a town with a dearth of late night food options, Underground Food Hall is great. The parking situation is not ideal and Fannin and Prairie can be dicey at night but great selection and I've never felt overwhelmed by crowds. The drink selection and pricing is nice for the area without being overwhelmed by the party crowds misbehaving in the streets.

Fun place to hang out with several games, several food options, and great happy hour drinks. We came in before an Astros game since it is walking distance from the stadium. We enjoyed their happy hour drinks, we got some wine and some frozen cocktails. We got some Birria tacos from the taco shop in there and we are always a fan! They give you three large tacos and they're super tasty.

Rad little basement food hall in Houston. Here for work. Have to say my tacos were absolutely delicious! I got the primo platter. Now $23 for street tacos is a little pricey but it is what it is. The real only thing that left me like "What?" Is it comes with 3 Birria tacos and 2 quesitacos. Basically the same with cheese. I asked well can I just get them all with no cheese and he said No. lol. Ummmm ok. Anyway great food non the less. Friend of mine had a chicken sandwich from other vendor and said it was delicious! I would come back.

After a short run with its previous predecessor (#1), the new management has rebranded this place as Underground Hall, which is both literal and brilliant, conceptually. Nestled in the heart of downtown, they've played a small part in revitalizing this part of the city. It's become a destination for food, drink, and a vibe for all. As far as food halls go, this place is a bit on the smaller side. The basement digs give it a true underground feel, especially with the darker lighting and overall ambiance. Given the tight layout, it's remarkable they've managed to fit as much as they have in this space. Seating seems plentiful, but can be a challenge for bigger groups. There's plenty of things to do here beyond eating, which include drinks, games, and sports on TV. The lineup for food has changed a bit in the short time that they've been open, but this is the current list: Wokker, Bird Haus, Bun Slut, Luv' Em Leches, Figata Gourmet Foods, and Los Primos. Overall, I'd say they're all decent and make for a good option for anyone who's looking for a casual bite or a pseudo drunken meal. As the ambiance would suggest, I'd say this is a place for a younger crowd. I wouldn't recommend it as a kid friendly spot or a destination for older folks. Parking is a challenge in most parts of downtown, but I've been fortunate to find street parking here each time. There are always a lot of activity outside, especially with folks struggling with their mental health. I would recommend that folks come visit here while there's still daylight before settling in for the evening. __________ (#1) Which supposedly was the "first ever" food hall in Houston.

Custom made, arguably the best Smashburger (my top 5) in Houston.

Picture this. For my birthday, I was taken on a carriage ride of downtown to receive a street level slowed down view of every street because during the day, it's a maze. I'd been in the tunnels before but what I was searching for was, you guessed it, my cult favorite food truck fantasyland--the hidden gem open air version of Bunslut inside Underground Hall, minus the truck. From the street view, parking will cost you at least $20 on the weekend, to partake in an $8 delight. After the carriage ride, I offered to pay for dinner because this one's on me. While he was still confused (a local Houstonian) because it's my birthday and we've passed up all the spots that would hurt your pockets and your feet (here's why I said wear your sneaks) we crossed the street and then went down a few short flights of stairs below street level. The restaurants in this tucked away food court are nothing fancy but the crowd is amazingly diverse and it feels like you're someplace you shouldn't know about but do and you're better for it! Nobody looks like you and nobody's looking at you. It's a vibe like being on your first high school date and on everyone else's too. They did not accept cash. But you can prob afford to eat at all six spots to try them out. The entrance/exit has a variety cakes and desserts almost an afterthought and gives you the feeling of checking out of the bates motel. You don't really notice the cakes going in but you do on your way out. Maybe it's the bell on the door or the something for the road feeling because immediately on the other side of the door there's sensory overload of things going on. For a few bucks though, you've got dinner and takeout and a place to take your picky friends (or teens). There is something for everyone. Family friendly and budget friendly. I woke up the next morning feeling like it was all a dream. But my son said, thanks for the takeout...whatever that place was, the (slutty) sauce is amazing. And this is how we began our burger hunt all over Houston to surpass Bunslut. We've been to every location many times, this one being the first and fave! Fun fact: this location replaced Hotline Burger in UH, which I discovered later, dethroning Bunslut for me. I've covered Hotline before and will again.

Underground Hall is so cool. Think food court (but way better than the mall) and bar. They had Birria tacos, smash burgers, Asian fusion and more. The bar is great too. Really great priced drinks. Lots of taps with local craft options and awesome cocktails.

This place is cool. I'm giving four stars because it has a younger feel to it so would be good with a group of friends. Plenty of options, TVs and some games to play. It kinda reminds me of a college mess hall vibe but not.. if you know what I mean. I had bun slut which I already knew was good but I'd go again to try the birria or noodle spot. It's worth checking out but it's not a top thing to do in Houston. For me anyways.

Birria tacos
Shirin L.

We found this place while walking around in downtown. It's a taco place located underground along with a few other restaurants. Their birria tacos were really good. They serve them fresh and hot and give you enough salsa and birria broth. It isn't super spice but had enough flavors. The lady behind the counter was really nice and helps you if you have any questions about their menu. The place is big enough with a few random tables around.

Even this time the GPS took us to an entrance that had us going the wrong way down a one-way, but we eventually figured it out I will say that the parking isn't all that great, but we were able to find a spot. If the parking lot is full you should be able to find street parking nearby Kanpai Club is a sister location to Handos. They share a kitchen and you can walk through an inside door access either. You can find the same cocktails and bites from Handos on the Kanpai menu, but there's also additional drinks and bites The bar feels like a Japanese Izakaya. It's a narrow space resembling a Japanese outdoor bar. It's intimately lit and well decorated. We did have to wait for two spots to open up, but that didn't take too long The bartenders were friendly, professional, and efficient. We went on a Friday night (fairly late), and they had two dedicated bartenders The cocktails were fun and were beautifully crafted. Most were served in novelty glassware. You can order classic cocktails, but both Kanpai and Hando offer a variety of signature cocktails. Most having some sort of Japanese or Asian fusion. They have beer, wine, and extensive sake list, as well as green tea and other nonalcoholic options The cocktails were tasty. The only one I was iffy on was their Espresso martini. It was poured from a machine and I guess there were having issues with it. The presentation was phenomenal. There was a roasted marshmallow garnish. The drink itself was far too Smokey in flavor than I like, or at least in terms of my espresso martinis The Yuzu Kosho fries were incredible. The flavors really hit the spot. The Okinawa Potato salad was both questionable to looks and and to eat lol. This purple mound of potato's had an interesting taste, look, and consistency. It wasn't bad, just... interesting and new Some tips: If you can't find this spot from the street, look for Handos. It's part of this restaurant Ask the bartender about the happy hour menu. And most nights they're open until 12am, but on Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 2am If you order food online (technically from Hando's) you can get 10% off using code: HANDO10. This is part of their "Hando and Chill" special Cheers!!

Midtown with their questionable parking makes me not want to go. Upon entering, the place is a nice, intimate setting, with a handful of seating areas along with bar and outside seating. Recommend bringing a light jacket as it was a bit cold. The menu had a variety of offerings, and noted that all drinks are $12. They are card only, so bring your card or tap to pay and also your ID. Because they are 3 feet from a school and are considered a private club, they comply with TABC regulations to ensure safety and efficiency in their business. From the variety of the drinks, I opted for my signature drink, an Old Fashioned, it definitely had a bite to it. I slowly sipped on it while I lounged in one of the seating areas. My sister tried the Starduster Ranch Water, and she didn't like it, I had a sip of it and it tasted like only way I can describe is like soap. Saw that they also have Mocktails and THC Beverages, I didn't try any of them. We headed out as we were trying to grab dinner and Starduster doesn't currently offer food. I did get to speak with Dylan again outside and he clued me in on a couple of things they are planning to do such as having food trucks and also open the upstairs for additional space. Overall, I know being new (had just opened last week) there are many things being worked on and do hope that things improve here and they add additional seating, it got busy for a bit and seating was standing only. Thankfully I was there early enough and got a nice cozy seating area. I removed a star because both my drink and my sister weren't really anything special, it tasted like they were premade and poured from a tap, I missed seeing each one be made. I did like that there aren't TV's inside, it helps maintain the personal interactions natural and focused. Outside they do have TV's which makes sense for bigger groups. Though the seating is limited inside, likely to maintain it as a cozy and intimate space, outside has a lot of seating AND they are PET FRIENDLY! In cold weather without heating lamps, don't think anyone would really sit out there. Once spring and summer arrive, it will be nice. On their menu they indicate "Weekly Specials" Spaghetti Western Sundays Monday Night Steak Night (not sure why it wasn't happening the day I was there, would've enjoyed some steak) Tarot Tuesdays Whiskey Wednesday
