My wife and I were really looking toward to trying this place. There had been so many wonderful reviews and I had it bookmarked on Yelp, waiting for this location to open in early April. Tonight was our chance. The whole thing was a fiasco. We each ordered the rattlesnake combo ($13) that comes with fries and a drink. We ordered diet cokes, and the waitress brought over two drinks that clearly were root beer. When I told her, she said that the soda had come out of the Diet Coke dispenser. We walked over and she tasted some at the dispenser and said "yes, that's root beer." She then replaced our drinks with iced teas. No one at the restaurant seemed particularly concerned that there was root beer coming from both the Diet Coke and root beer taps. No one checked the machine to try to fix the issue for the entire time we were there, which ended up being much longer than we had anticipated. We sat there with our iced teas and then, about 10 minutes later the waitress came over and asked if we had each ordered the "203". We responded yes, and she left. Ten minutes later she came over again and apologized for the delay. Yes, another 10 minutes passed again and she returned to say that the grill had somehow shut itself off (really??) and that the cook had to turn it back on. Finally, about 10 minutes later, the food arrived. I had to walk over to the counter to request silverware, since none had been provided. The food itself was fine. The fries were warm (not hot, which would have been better) and the burger was, as I said, fine. Nothing impressive about it. The waitress apologized again and, when we finished, presented us with the check. We paid the check and I left an appropriate tip (20 percent) since the issues were not waitress caused. I told the waitress that if Management had taken something off the bill or made some other gesture that we likely would have come back. But, since Management did not, we would regard this as a fiasco and not return. She apologized again. A woman who I assume was a Manager/Owner came by to pick up the credit card receipt and just said good night. Overall, I'm very disappointed. We eat hamburgers very infrequently, and it is a real treat when we do. For the price (around $33 with the tip), I'll go back to Grub Burger or try another place. read more

Finally got a chance to try the new location. A long wait, but worth it! Pineapple burger was perfect, fries were Skin-on perfect. Only missing some malt vinegar, but "made do" with ketchup (Heinz of course). Funnel Cake fries were not on the menu for some reason, but could be ordered just fine and came out beignet-like with just the right amount of powdered sugar just like I remembered. Bacon on the burgers was properly crispy. Choice of buns is always good. Patties are well done and pressed as gods and good taste intended. All the more remarkable considering that this was 15:00-ish on a Friday and we were the only customers there. When a kitchen can turn out great fresh food when not busy as well as when packed, for me it's the sign of a good place. We left the Woodlands mall hungry and stumbled upon this restaurant on Yelp. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. I'm SO GLAD WE DID. We were a little nervous when we arrived, because there was only one other person there. But after we received our food, we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the jalapeño burger, I got the chicken tacos, and my older daughter got the Buffalo chicken tenders. EVERYTHING was delicious. Wow. Totally blown away by the excellent burger, sweet potato fries and the glorious cheddar jalapeño bun I had to add to my patty. The meat was flavorful and juicy. The sweet potato fries were wonderful with just salt which I dipped in house-made ranch, YUM. However, the cheddar jalapeño bun was the star of the show for me!! The cheddar and jalapeño flavor added depth to my burger and the taste didn't get overwhelmed by the meat and cheese. I even took two buns home with me :). I also enjoyed my coke as they have a real soda machine, not one of those Freestyle coke machines with hundreds of weak, watery flavors. While the place is a joint it's not the decor that matters when the food is this good. Tyler was friendly and welcoming. Well worth the hassle of Sawdust Rd. Love it and will be back. read more

Stopped by for lunch today. This is their new location on Sawdust. I think they've been here about a month. First off, burgers on menu need descriptions. We had to ask and while the service was good and she was helpful, we had to ask the differences between about 5 different burgers. The people in the booth behind us got different descriptions of the differences in burgers. Ordered a kids burger, wings and a Richard burger with bacon (cheeseburger on a sourdough bun with a fried egg) and fries. The wings were ok. They were cooked well and increased but were over sauced. The. Urged was the highlight here. It was served well done. It was still juicy. They really should off at least a medium option. Bun was outstanding. Overall it's one of the best burgers I've had in the woodlands area. He fires that came with were cold and soggy though - they looked good, dark with skins still on, but that grease just wasn't hot enough. Also our food came or at three different times. On another note, the ice tea was undrinkable. Both the wife and I had to pour it out and grab a Diet Coke. They said they had new tea and that they didn't like it either. If you don't like it, serve something else. Overall - good burger - I'll give them another shot and just assume they are working out the kinks at a new location. read more

This is my FAVORITE burger place in the woodlands. But they are SO unreliable. Many times I call during business hours and no body picks up. Many times I order on Waitr and after an hour of waiting Waitr calls me and says they cannot reach anyone. This 5 star rating is based on both the wings as well as the rattlesnake burger. The wings are a good portion for the price. The Sauce is excellent, not overly spicy but with a good kick. The rattlesnake burger is a whole nother level! The bread is delicious. Tony and his wife are wonderful people tony will sit and talk all day if they aren't too busy. Update: Went while they were busy and I'll say again that this place really needs to get away from table service. Staff was overwhelmed with tasks that wouldn't have been there's to do had they been a quick service restaurant. Next time we go I will specify that my burger is cooked medium since the last one I had was med well and definitely not as good as the first one. (Still good just not the 5 star burger that we had the first time.) Fries are good, but not GREAT. Was really hoping for something more like Five Guys in the fry department. Onion rings where more like onion straws, and therefore not my favorite either. Our new go to burger place. The burger was nice and juicy and was cooked med to med well (they didn't ask how we wanted our burger cooked so I assume this is the norm here). We added sliced avocado, cheddar cheese, and grilled onions. We ordered the triple bacon cheeseburger which was huge, without a bun or fries since we are currently on a Keto diet. The layout of the place is odd, and I'd highly recommend they got away from table ordering since I think quick service is the best way to do a small burger shop like this nowadays, but nonetheless we will be coming here often. I hate being put in a position where I feel like I need to complain, but I'm going to because this is Yelp and EVERYONE WANTS MY OPINION. And because I've been to Tony's 3 times and I know they're food is great, but they really need to work out a few kinks! I plan to update this star rating later but want some visibility first, and it's not like this will tank the rating. So my third visit is where things got stupid and prompted this, but they're easily fixable. Here's my novel, keep this in mind for your visit. -Go with family, we sit down, I go get a menu from counter for them to look at. -Lady on register comes by and asks about drinks, and I explain we're not sure what we want and I'm going to order at counter and get everything taken care of at once. -We decide food and I make it up to counter before people come by again. -Order a combo meal and a couple apps, say I have their coupon for a buy one burger get one free up to $12. -Order my burger (21: ultimate rattlesnake), clarify what another burger is since the menu doesn't say (27: chela double cheesy bacon burger), and order that one. Both are 12 bucks, that makes sense with the coupon. -Get rung up, sounds high, I ask if that includes coupon, no didn't put it on, applies coupon. I pay. -Fill up our waters, sit down, they bring apps, we start eating, bring out burgers (which we then have to get up anyways and go dress ourselves), but the chela has only one patty and no bacon. -I bring it to counter, guy puts it on window and asks for the patty and bacon. -They bring out fixed burger. -Employees (cashier, manager, and Tony) are now crowded around register looking over receipts and looking at me back and forth. -I, obviously noticing this, get up and go over there and say if I was rung up wrong I'm fine paying the difference, Tony tells me go ahead and eat and they'll figure it out. -They disperse, cashier comes over and brings me a fresh bill for 4.50 and tax for the extras the cooked up. Excuse me? -My first receipt is not itemized, so I get up and go back to counter where we look over their full receipt. Looks right but supposedly she deducted the combo burger. No that's not how this works. -Manager comes by, talk with him, he's confused but gets where I'm coming from I guess and he goes to back to talk to Tony. Tony comes out and clarifies we're all good. -Now I'm flustered by having to deal with this in the first place, I finish meal with family. -We try to clean up after ourselves. There's no trashcan. So now we're shoehorned into this weird service model again (or is it just not thought out...?). So I can leave my trash all over the table, or I can stack everything up and take to counter. Which I do, because leaving all the trash isn't cool. But that shouldn't be our only options. These are plastic baskets with paper liners, just give us a trash can and let us take care of it. So really at the end of the day, just run this place like a nice burger joint please, not a half effort restaurant. I just want to come in, look at menu, order my food, pay for food, take my styrofoam cup and fill it with a drink, get my food, put stuff on my food at the condiment bar, eat my food, throw my trash away, and leave. Like, I dunno, Fuddruckers..... And make sure employees don't jerk me around on coupons or at least have the sense not to come bring a customer some BS extra bill for something less than 5 bucks when you messed up in the first place. Previous visits: First, it's empty, I just want to try the onion rings and fried pickles to go, Tony hooks me up with a split order since it's quiet. I pay for them and my ranch (which drives me crazy when places charge for ranch, but there's a sign up so it's not a surprise). All good, pickles are salty, but they're pickles. Yay, I'm a fan. Second, I call ahead and talk to Tony. Order a burger combo with onion rings to go (because I've read the reviews where they try to shoehorn in waiter service) since I'm by myself and I can eat in my car just fine. However this proves difficult because though I asked the toppings, they don't actually put them on the burger. Why not? So now I've got to try and dress my burger in the car. Lesson learned, next time ask to put them on, but I feel like that should have been at least offered. Still though, food was very good. Yay, I'm a fan. read more

Such a good cheeseburger! I ordered the ultimate rattlesnake cheese burger. It's a mixture of beef and sausage pattie. It comes on a jalapeño cheese sourdough bun and has bacon and avacado on top. I chose to add a fried egg as well. All of the condiments are on the table and the lettuce, tomato, pickles and extras are on a cart. Everything was fresh and delicious. Ate here tonight. 1st time will definately be our last time. $45 for 3 burgers with fries and no drinks !!! When I questioned the bill they tell me it was $3 each for the side of fries and $0.35 to each to substitute which cheese was on the burger. To be clear, the burger already had cheese but to switch to the one you prefer is an upcharge. When I say it would have been nice to know this when ordering they give me "attitude" about just working there and it's Uncle Tony who sets the prices. Well they should change the name of this place because he is certainly not treating his customers like family. Ok fine so it's expensive and the attitude sucks. How about the food ? Burger bun was absolutely soggy on all 3 burgers we ordered as were the the fries. Cold soggy half cooked fries. OMG great burger and fries. My first visit today, at lunch, 1/19/18. Went early at 11:15. About 8 customers in the place. Ordered the #7 lunch item which is the bacon cheeseburger with fries. So good! Burger is 1/3 pound and too much for me, especially at lunch. But it was so good, I ate every bite. Fries are cut and cooked on site, just like the five guy place. You don't get as many fries as that place, but I don't think anyone gives away fries like that. Burger was cooked perfectly. I like dressing it myself with all the "fixins" at the side bar. The bacon was huge. Two long, wide and thick strips of crispy bacon which hung out both sides of the burger. Salty and crispy, just as it should be. Not as cheap as other fast food burger joints, but worth it. My 1/3 pound bacon cheeseburger with fries in a basket was $11. Awesome and worth it. I will be returning. Good place. read more
