I tried the infamous rattlesnake burger with sweet sourdough buns. The breading was soft, but oily. The burger patty had a very interesting taste being angus beef mixed with spicy pork sausage. I wouldn't say it was seasoned to perfection, though. You definitely have to like spicy meat to appreciate the burger more. I didn't think it's worth paying between $12-$20 dollars for a single mediocre burger with a small side of fresh cut fries. The funnel cake fries were a joke here. I went on a slow evening and there was only one guy there named Dawayne I believe and he was awesome !! He Greeted us immediately, there was open seating with clean tables (we sat by the topping bar) . Recommended some of their most popular burgers, after he grabbed our drinks and orders he went straight back and cooked our delicious burgers . At first I was worried it would take a while but the timing was perfect. After our burgers came out he made sure they were cooked how we asked as they were, soon after he checked on us topped our drinks off and let us enjoy. I had the 2/3 pound burger. It was 2, 1/3 patties. They were good but I was hoping to be a little more juicy. Also, I thought I had asked for a burger with only mustard, pickles and tomatoes -- how I normally eat a burger. Short version: $17 for burger and fries Long version: This is yet another fast, casual burger place that should be counter service, but instead they force you into a having a waitress, just to deliver the food to your table. You pretty much do everything else yourself. I ordered the habanero rattlesnake burger with fresh cut fries, and it was all delicious and spicy of course. They have 3 bun options, this burger comes with sourdough. Even though I enjoy sourdough buns with my burgers, the bun here gets soggy quickly. You add your own toppings at the condiment bar, basic toppings like white onion, pickles, tomato, green leaf lettuce. Also available are mayo, mustard and ketchup. The habaneros were chopped finely and placed on top of the burger patty as I received it. I asked about the color of them being green, and they brought out some additional grilled habaneros from the kitchen that were red. These seemed to be hotter than the green ones. The patty itself is tasty and cooked only medium well, since it has pork in it also. Rattlesnake is just the nickname. Their fresh cut fries are the soggy type, so just fyi. My main complaint about Uncle Tony's is the size of the patty doesn't match the price, especially for a do-it-yourself restaurant. All patties are 1/3 lb. It was painfully slow, as in it took as long as a proper sit down restaurant with table cloths, polished silverware, nice bottles of wine and difficult menu choices to labor over. To be fair, a sign was posted to warn hurried patrons they're better off at the W burger joint next door if time is a problem, but seriously, we didn't get food for nearly an hour between being seated, waiting to place our order, and the burgers and fries actually arriving. Maybe it was an off day? It was a Monday, after all, but an hour and fifteen for 4 burgers and 1 large fry is rough, I don't care how slow your day is going. Our first time here. My man got the double rattlesnake cheese burger with bacon and avocado. I got the smaller one to go. I liked that they put the burger toppings on the side. This way I was able to put half away for later without the veggies making the bun soggy. Their fresh cut fries are excellent. We also tried the funnel cake fries. I went for lunch one day last week while going to The Woodlands. I had bookmarked this place due to its high Yelp ratings. It is located in a nice strip center with plenty of parking even though lunch time can test most parking lots capacity. Walking in and as I approached the counter to place my order the clerk asked if I was dining in and I said yes. She then said to take a seat at a table. I thought this looked like a counter service type of restaurant. I asked her and she said that she provides table service as a courtesy. I thought that while it was nice for her to say that it was also kind of odd. So she brought me the menu and I ordered a regular burger with fries which they have combos for this. She asked if I wanted a regular or sourdough bun and I went with regular. She then went to the self serve drink area and brought me my drink. Less than 10 minutes later my food arrived. I then took my food basket to the toppings cart and added lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, etc. For a couple of those items, it was difficult to reach down in the container to pick up the toppings with the tongs. They put some of the toppings into containers that are too deep. So I dressed my burger and got some ketchup for the fries and went back to my seat. They have booths to sit at and and high chairs along a bar. There are also 4-5 round high top tables with bar stools around them. The burger was good. I enjoyed it. The angus beef patty was about 1/3 lb. and tasted good along with the bun and I rated it at a 4. The homemade fries also were good in taste and beautiful in appearance and I graded them a 4. Also the price was reasonable in that with tax the combo was under $10. So when I'm finished the clerk who has become my waitress presents the bill. I paid in cash and left her a $2 tip. She didn't make me feel pressured to leave a tip but I still felt obligated. I really don't understand the need for table service here. I rated the meal a 4 but the table service was unneeded. She was nice just not needed. P.S. I returned in September 2017 and this time got the same burger but this time on the sourdough bun. Again this was a very good hamburger and the fries were the same. The patty is cooked well done but was moist enough and had a lot of flavor. They use Angus beef here. This is a very good place to check me for a burger type meal. read more
