I recently heard of an item called Japanese Cheesecake, which I didn't know was a thing. So for all of you that are like me and dont know about Janapese Cheesecake it is a very light and airy cake, Its signature fluffy texture comes from folding whipped egg whites into the batter and baking it in a water bath. The result is a soft, chiffon-like consistency that wobbles. So I heard of a place called @uncletetsu_katy and decided to give it a try. I ordered the coffee flavored cheesecake and it was amazing. very light and flavorful. Definitely will be back to try the other flavors. #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #foodblog #foodlovers #foodpic #foodpics #foodie #foodies

Limited Asian dessert options here so I was excited to see this place pop up! Burnt chocolate cheesecake - melted googey in the middle, taste like chocolate mouse Ube cheesecake - cold Chinese sponge cake with a hint of ube? Love how they are not super sweet.

It's about $15 per cake. I got the coconut pandan which was pretty good. I also sampled the coffee cheesecake they had which I didn't really like. They have a lot of flavor options you can choose from aside from the original. Generally these cakes are too soft for me, not in a fluffy way but in a mushy one so I would keep that in mind. Kind and quick service.

Great service and delicious cakes. I truly appreciated the warm, loving experience. I love the matcha the most!

While visiting the Katy area, we happened upon Uncle Tetsu! The nearby shops support one another by offering a 10% off discount with a receipt from the neighboring shop (we went to Wushiland for boba next door). When we walked in, we were offered a sample of their limited seasonal flavor, cherry blossom. The cake itself was yummy and spongey, but we ultimately decided to get the coconut pandan flavor of their classic Japanese cheesecake to-go. The cheesecake was soo delicious and a huge hit when we brought it back to share with our friends after dinner. The coconut and pandan flavors complement one another really well and the texture was so light and creamy. Highly recommend and would go back to this or other locations to try their other offerings.

Had a real treat today! Saw they were advertising a free mini-cheesecake with purchase for national cheesecake day. So of course I signed up for the email list and we got our cheesecake today. We purchased the cookies and cream cheese cake and got the strawberry mini. It also came with cookies as well. So good, and definitely will be back. We love cheesecake but a giggle cheesecake was a fun and great treat. Getting one for next family get together

Favorite place to get Japanese cheesecake. Been coming here since their grand opening. Strawberry, black sesame, and pandan coconut are my go-to. For birthday stamps, you have to call the day prior. Semi-sweet Japanese fluffy, soft cheesecakes is what you should expect. Cherry Blossom is good but my mother said it tastes like soap (if you like floral sweets then I recommend it or just for parties). Their basque cheesecakes are the less sweet version of an American cheesecake, which I also enjoy. Recently, they introduced a smaller versions of their cheesecakes, I believe 4 for $20 whereas their normal size is $16. Random specials so check out the prices in the store such as 2 for $20. Friendly servers and it's just a simple small place where you get what you need and leave. No sit in but they do offer samples throughout the day for you to try. There's some parking in this plaza but many just park in one spot and walk around to the different plaza in this nook of Katy Asian Town.

One of the best Japanese cheese cakes in Houston. I usually drive across town for 45 minutes just to come here.

Great place to get Japanese cheesecake in the Katy area. I was surprised on how delicious the cake tasted. It's like a sponge that melts in your mouth, very creamy, not too cheesy, perfect sweetness. The texture is amazing and is very easy to eat. I would come back.

Between two people, we ordered: miso soup: as expected Chicken Combo Yakitori: 2 meats and one veggie, not bad salmon belly and salmon nigiri: amazing, Salmon was as expected, the salmon belly was better. Shrimp Toast: it was cute and really like the texture. Mushroom miso rice : 5/5 would get this again You have to pair this up with the eggplant miso cheese. Eggplant Miso cheese: 5/5 would get this again. Same, pair this up with the mushroom miso cheese. 1 Spider roll/ 2 tempura roll hand rolls: as expected. Special house roll: I would pass. The others were much more memorable. Tai sushi: It was amazing, it was light, refreshing, and citrus all at the same time. I wish I ordered this first but I was soooo full, I was struggling at this point. Not pictured, Kisu sushi: It had a strong taste and a slight rubber skin texture. It was nice to try it but I don't need to again. Not pictured, ray fin jerky: Someone ordered this and was meh bout it. it was sweet. I think I was the only one who liked it. I would highly recommend the following; mushroom miso rice, eggplant miso cheese, salmon belly, tai sushi. These are must haves. Ray fin jerky is a maybe if you like sweet jerky or not, this dish was a hit or miss at the table. Our waitresses were amazing and very sweet. One seems to be fairly new but I think she will do well with more experiences as she gets the hang of handling large parties. Our table was stable, but because of the angle from the windows, the light kind of blinded one of our friends in the face. I would recommend stronger blinds for the front. I really liked the decorations. They were all sea shaped based, like a few of the lights were "waves". I thought they were cute. Amazing place, I'm excited to come back again to try their other dishes like barracuda and aji fry! Also, free parking out front!

I'm proud that they have servers of this caliber at Asian restaurants in Houston, TX. Usually you see professional servers at upscale restaurants. There was a busboy there towards the end, and even he was super professional. Whoever the manager is at this location, you guys are doing an outstanding job training the staff here. Keep up the good work! 2. Price - about $15/bowl. 3. Ambiance - The decor here is beautiful. There are natural lighting from the front, with wood panels everywhere, lanterns hung high. They did a nice job decorating the place and you definitely feel as if you're in Japan somewhere. 4. Food - This is where this place shines compare to all the ramen places in Houston. They have the option of low sodium broth. I took one sip, and it felt like home cooked Ramen. I'm not talking about instant ramen that you buy from the store, but the ramen made from scratch. I often go to ramen places in Houston and I dread going because I know how salty they taste. There are 2 other locations I have in mind in Houston that are also my favorites. But I would say this is not bad compared to the bowl of ramen I had in Narita, Japan. If you're wondering what I've ordered, it was the CHICKEN RICH RAMEN and make sure to request for low sodium. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area is well kept, clean, and the busboy is on top of things. The restroom is questionable. The personal restroom doors are hard to close and lock. For management, have a look at the restrooms and see if you can improve things. SUMMARY: I would definitely come back. It is just THAT GOOD!

Something forgotten. Something tasty…read more Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya is a well-dressed ramen shop with an impressive interior design. The food overall was tasty. I was so hungry I forgot to get a photo of the initial presentation, but the noodles were perfect and the broth was tasty. Other than that, it was pretty lackluster: the soft-boiled egg was hard and one of the grossest eggs I've had, and the chashu was cold. We also ordered some chicken karaage, but that never showed, and our waiter was too busy to stop by so I could tell him. I'm not familiar with the ramen scene in Houston, but Kizuki was a huge letdown, especially with their roots to Japan. ご馳走様でした

I visited during lunchtime for the AYCE and it wasn't bad at all. I tend to lower my expectations…read morewhen it comes to AYCE and revolving sushi, but 25 Sushi House does it well. The selection is a bit more limited for lunch, but the price is lower than dinner as well. Being AYCE, I wouldn't expect the highest quality, type, and cut of fish, but what they had was pretty solid, tasted fresh, and was delicious. A minor complaint would be they had no sashimi option, even for the tamago which I personally believe is eaten best without rice, but that's just minor stuff considering the good value here. As much as I try to find a reason not to give this place an outstanding rating, if I compare it to the AYCE category of restaurants, it did everything right. They do have a regular a la carte menu, with a selection that looks like a treat in itself. As for me, I highly enjoyed their jalapeno bomb to start. I highly doubt they used snow crab, tasted like imitation crab, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and got another order at the end. I tried a few nigiri while I was here, with eel being my favorite (and thank goodness for no bones, which was lucky because it's eel). Their tacos were an unexpected standout and is worth a bite or two. Using sheets of nori and frying it to it holds up like a shell is pretty genius and more places need to do this. I had a good time with their Burning Alaska signature maki, which has salmon as the main star. The smokiness from torching was a killer! Their curry reminded me of S&B, which might very well be the mix they used. I was a bit disappointed to not see fish katsu as an option considered it's a sushi place, but I can see the katsu curry selection being a good option as a comfort dish. I wish I had the stomach space to try out new stuff, but maybe next time. Wish someone would post a photo of the salmon skin salad, because I'm a bit curious about that!
