Used to eat at this place all the time when it was Jenny's. It was always packed with people, had excellent food with big portions, great service and a great menu. Immediately when we walked in this time you could tell it was dirty. While the service was still friendly the food seemed stale, like the hashbrowns were a day old and reheated. My omelette was pretty flavorful but very small and the whole meal seemed surprisingly overpriced for what we got. For the food alone there are plenty of better places to choose from. But the clincher for me is the bathroom. Probably one of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever seen in a restaurant. The toilet had algae growing in it and had a lot of disgusting stuff crusted on the rest of the fixture, including the seat, that had obviously been there a while. The wall had a huge, dried smear of... never mind. Two of the three employees are men, one of them being uncle Rusty, who obviously has to use this restroom. If this passes for acceptable cleanliness I don't want to know any more about the cleanliness and hygiene of the rest of the place. read more

I was excited to try this diner, as I had heard several advertisements for it on the radio. We were pretty disappointed. The cleanliness is lacking, broken windows, and just general disrepair. My husband said the bathroom was pretty bad. Likened it to a bad convenience store/gas station bathroom. Breakfast was OK. But not great. The best thing about the meal was the hot Thomas Hammer Coffee! The service was good. I recommend going across the street to Frank's Diner. And so so good. Don't let the neighborhood deter you. If you're in downtown this is a must-go for breakfast. Everything is made in house. Apart of me wanted to believe it had to be good to compete with land mark Spokane location Frank's diner neighboring across the street. Service was terrible. I ordered a Kobe steak and eggs plate, my friend of mine who was with me ordered a side of hashbrowns. The waitress mentioning "oh what that's all? You need some meat" and had made some other judgemental comments through out service. The steak came out to be 2 strips of greasy fat with hardly any meat, hashbrowns cold and greasy. Eggs were cooked poorly. Old and funky tasting food to say the least. Couldn't imagine anything I had being cooked to order. I came up for a concert from Portland and this little gem was next to our hotel. We stopped in for breakfast and was absolutely not disappointed. It is a family run restaurant, food portions are perfect, if you are hungry this is the place. The prices are absolutely reasonable. I really enjoyed Rosie as our server, she was sweet, on point and made sure we were well taken care of. Next time I am up in this area, I am definitely coming back. read more

4 of us went today; we all enjoyed our food. We ordered several items and all were good. Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and tasty. We tried french toast, sweet cream pancakes (pancakes were huge & can be shared) a bacon grilled cheese sandwich with fries (fries were nice & crispy) a 2 egg breakfast with bacon, toast & hashbrowns. The bacon was especially good; they gave 4 or 5 strips with the breakfast. We asked that hashbrowns be cooked longer & they were cooked perfectly. All of the food tasted freshly cooked and came out at the same time. If you are looking for a fancy place with a great view; this is not the place for you. But if you want a good breakfast or lunch for a really reasonable price give this place a try. read more

Coffee is weak, food was good and portions, large. From the time we arrived till the time we were served, was about 45 minutes on a Sunday morning, brunch time. This place is a great example of some old-school diner food. Nice sized portions, food is yummy and the wait staff was putting in a lot of effort. You can tell they're still finding the flow, being a new place, but they were attentive and kind. MUCH cleaner and brighter than when it was Jenny's. Military family here-- finally found a fave breakfast place in town! I'm from California and husband is from Georgia and we swore there were no good breakfast places who served a good proportion. We finally found that. They were running a 30% off promotion on door dash pick up and so we decided to try it out! Food was horrible, gravy was overheated and the milk in it broke, chili burger was bad. Chili was not good it was more like soup with a few beans and it was cold and who put lettuce and tomatoes and pickles on a chili burger. Then the waitress was horrible gave us a dirty glass that had like a pice of pulp stuck to it. She also would just start talking to us and then walk away and we tried to talk with her about the food but she just walked away. The wait staff were all very nice and apologized often about how long it was taking. We were at the counter and watched the disorganized cooks in the kitchen. Our eggs were over cooked. The biscuit was exactly like the biscuits at Carls Jr. (ok but nothing great). The bacon was cold and undercooked. The pancake tasted like the plastic bag it came out of. The hashbrowns were good. I was pleasantly surprised with Uncle Rusty's Diner. We went to Frank's across the street and decided we couldn't wait 40 plus minutes as we had a busy day planned. The staff at Uncle Rusty's was all friendly. Kyle, our server provided exceptional service. The food was fantastic! We were hungry so we dug in before I remembered to take a picture. I ordered a waffle, eggs over hard, bacon and sausage -- everything was delicious, but I especially enjoyed the bacon and sausage. My husband had the bacon and cheese omelet with hash browns and their sweet cream pancakes. The pancakes enormous (plate sized) and were very good. The hash browns were perfectly crispy. My husband enjoyed the omelet as well. I highly recommend Uncle Rusty's -- the storefront isn't a train like Frank's but the food and service is fantastic! read more
