My daughter had a SURPRISE 17th Birthday dinner at Uncle Julio's on the Grand parkway this week!! I went by early in the day and spoke with Kris, the manager. He arranged for her party to be in their private room and I was able to leave balloons. He had everything ready for when the girls arrived. My daughter was totally surprised and everything went great! The food and service was awesome and the Chocolate Lovers Piñata was a HUGE hit!! Food is not good. Even if "made from scratch"! It is like a hipster joint so maybe is meant to be ironic as in out of can not scratch. Service out of kitchen for bad food is unacceptable. Wait staff was overwhelmed or understaffed. Prices are not justified. read more

My fiance and his brother love this place. They had been twice in one week and then invited their significant others the next week. We all met for dinner and I had guacamole and shrimp wrapped in bacon. It is delicious and the parking lot says it all. Ask For Darian she is a sweety! read more

At 6pm on 2/6/18, my party of 11 (9 adults and 2 toddlers) showed up at the new location in Spring for dinner. It was my father's 60th birthday celebration. Before going, My dad tried to make a reservation online but got the alert that they did not take online reservations for parties greater than 6 & he would have to call the restaurant. When he called the restaurant, he was told that they could not take the reservation over the phone & it had to be made online. After going back & forth, no reservation was made. When we got there, my parents were turned away, stating that they could not take a party of greater than 6 until 7:30pm. WHO TURNS AWAY PAYING CUSTOMERS?? What is the difference between a two parties of 5 people showing up at the same time and a party of 11 Coming in? And let me say, I was a server for 3 years, as was my brother who was with us. And my dad is a retired restaurant general manager. Well, I'm glad they turned us away because we went to a different restaurant (who was more than happy to have a large party) and had an amazing meal! read more

They just lost my business for good, went back due to the good experience before just to have it erased. We sat in their "first come, first serve" area again, sat there for about 10 minutes just for a waitress to come tell us that someone was already sitting there. How was it completely cleaned off with a check signed from the previous table that just got up then?? No explanation. We already were on a wait before sitting in the bar area for 20 minutes so we gave back the pager and lost our place in line. When we told them how long we were there they just looked at us completely clueless and offered no solution and told us we had to go to the bottom of the list. read more

Slow to non existent service. Came here on a Saturday around 3 pm decided to seat at the bar since it was busy in the main dining area. We never had the bartender offered chips and salsa and actually had to flag her after a while to order our drink. I don't blame the bartender, but the BAD MANAGEMENT she was working very hard and fast to attend to anyone, but where are the managers when the place is this busy? Having only 2 bartenders at such a busy time and in a Saturday it's completely unacceptable. Never again!! No wonder why you have 3 stars here. Ohhh And the drink menu stayed that skinny margaritas at $10.99 but our bill before tax showed $11.49?? Really! People check your tabs!! read more

The servers were friendly, our server pretty much stayed on top of things and the place was busy. The chips were greasy, probably fried in oil as it had a neutral taste. The appearance of other baskets we saw delivered was the same. The dip had a slightly burned taste, maybe fire roasted veggies? The taste was ok, but I prefer the restaurant we usually go to. The beef enchilada was good, the chicken enchilada was bland. The beef taco was good. The rice and beans were about what you would expect, although the rice was darker than what I usually see. This is a great place. The patio area is nice. They have fans running to try and beat the heat. Drinks are on point. Table Side Guacamole is awesome !! Chips and salsa are great. We never have room for dessert. Maybe one day we'll come in for just dessert. We'll definitely be back again. read more

This location is on our way home, and always look busy so we decided to go (my husband and I) on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't have to wait to be seated bc the hostess assigned us a booth in the bar area (wasn't crowded), waiting for awhile to get a server, he finally came then we ordered the beers (they don't have draft beers) it took awhile to bring us the beers, and also more time for the food too!! The waiter really tried to give us a good service but seems like they have to be more organized. I ordered the carnitas tacos which the meat was "crunchy" (extra cooked) no recommend it! My husband ordered Guadalajara plate, he liked it. The restaurant have a nice indoor and outdoor area. Prices are higher than others restaurants and food wasn't too great. Don't know if We're coming back any time soon. read more

Came here for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday with the children. We were a tad late for the reservation but they seated us with no problem. Started off with margaritas and the blanco queso. Both were very good. The waiter was energetic and friendly. We really enjoyed his personality and enthusiasm toward his job. Several times other waitstaff jumped in to help. Great service overall. The place was very crowded and loud with the music turned up which made the place lively more than overwhelming. The food was great. I had the carne asada and it was tender and cooked to perfection. The beans were exceptional. The rest of the table had soft tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas. Everyone like their food. The place is well decorated and upscale for a Mexican restaurant. Uncle Julio's is the place to be! Last night, Friday, June 29th some friends had reservations to celebrate my 62nd birthday. The wait time was not long. We sat outside in the lounging area for the short wait. We were seated promptly, our waiter was very thoughtful and knowledgeable of the menu. It was our first time there. The service was awesome. The food and drinks were fantastic. Marvin, the Manager came over to our table to wish me a happy birthday! The evening was magical and the "Chocolate Piñata," was just mind blowing. I was there just this afternoon, around 1 PM on a Monday. It didn't seem too busy at first, we were seated immediately. But while my companions got their drinks I waited for maybe fifteen minutes for a glass of wine. Today, of all days, I was in no mood to wait. The food was promptly served, tasted good and the temperature and presentation were acceptable. I was offered the choice of Refried or Charro beans, which I appreciated. Don't bother. We tried to go today (a Saturday) at 4:45 in the afternoon. We were turned away because they could not accommodate "large parties"; My husband, our four small children and me unless we were willing to be split up but there was no guarantee that we could be seated close together in proximity. When I asked if we could get seated in the patio. Area (which was wide open) I was refused "due to the incline to weather". Please note it's currently 62 degrees. I understand it's a newer restaurant, but this is ridiculous. We so enjoy the one in Dallas, but if they can't seat our family together in the middle of the day, what's the point. read more

Cool environment. They are overstaffed. Even with all the employees standing awkwardly in groups the service is terrible. They are uncomfortable and not knowledgeable on the restaurant. Very slow service. To top it off the food was cold. The salsa and chips were good though. Update- I went back one more time to give this place a second chance. The food was beyond excellent! I will probably be back in again. Servers still need help. I ordered a vodka soda and the waitress said she doesn't know what vodka is and doesn't think they have vodka. My family and I went in for lunch. First, upon entering, all the staff/hostesses looked at us like we didn't belong there. None of them smiled or greeted us except the blonde lady. So, we walked up to her. She sat us and immediately moved the silverware from my baby's reach. That was very intuitive. We praised her for that. We then discussed our kids and hers. She was very friendly. Second, we enjoyed the food, however, the service was a bit slow. We understood because they have not been open long. Nice place, good food. My husband and I almost did not go to Uncle Julios (Spring, TX) because of the low reviews on Yelp, but our friends wanted to go so we did. it was Monday night and the place was very busy. Wow!! This place is too over priced for such little portions. My dad got a small tortilla soup and it was SMALL... my chicken quesadillas were ok, I was not a huge fan but my mom said they weren't bad. I would not recommend, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

The food here is always fresh and delicious. Employees from the front to the table are well trained and do their best to make your visit pleasant. Never had a bad experience here and always enjoy going there. Chicken fajitas are my norm. Chicken is well seasoned and they give you plenty of peppers and onions. Flour and corn tortillas are house made and excellent. Salsa is a cooked chipotle style which is not my favorite but is still delicious. Table side guacamole is fantastic. And for special treats try the chocolate piñata. Kids and adults love it. Overall a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal with family and friends. read more

Awesome atmosphere. Clean place and servers seemed nice. Manger who sat us was very kind as well. Nice chips and salsa. Chips are a bit greasy but they claim to be homemade. I got the steak and chicken fajitas with homemade tortillas. Best fajitas I ever had. I wish the chicken would have been a bit more cooked as in grill marks but it still was good. My girl got the enchiladas and she loved it as well. Only suggestion would be on a 20 dollar meal maybe include a little more beans since you get a small side dish for beans and instead of 3 tortillas do 5 since they are small. read more
