Sadly, this is an updated review to my last review of this establishment. My wife and I have been here several times now. I'll start with the dining room. The restaurant has been very clean every time. The staff is usually friendly and welcoming. We are always greeted and seated right away. Unfortunately the food is hit or miss, sometimes it's very good , other times it's bland and lacking quality ingredients. It really depends on what you order. All I'll say is I'm not a fan of processed chicken. We were also disappointed to learn that their margaritas come premixed in a box and not made to order. I think the manufacturer of these low grade boxes forgot to put the alcohol in the batch we had. The drinks are a bit expensive for boxed drinks. Any way we may be back, but not likely. The search for good quality Mexican food continues. read more

Food is definitely sub par. I ordered chilaquiles and they gave me migas. The chile con queso was not good either. Tasted like cheddar cheese mixed with canned nachos cheese. Fajita were over salted/marinated. If you are an authentic Mexican, then this is not the restaurant for you. Definitely more Tex-Mex style or those Taco Bell lovers. I have a rule going in to a food place. If you can smell food cooking from the outside, then the food will be amazing. If you can smell it on the inside, it should be decent. The food was surprisingly decent. The price maybe a little high verse the quality of the food. Service was as it should be. The staff are kind and will try to get what you need. I wanted to try their fried Icecream but sadly they were out. They have free softServe when you're done with your meal. read more

On a positive note- the restaurant is clean and decorated nicely with booths, tables and carpeting. Unlike most Texas hole-in-the-wall restaurants, this one actually resembles an authentic restaurant instead of a fast food place. The staff is friendly- with the exception of the gal who takes the drink orders, she doesn't speak very much English and wears a frown on her face. We told her that our margaritas were too watery, and warm- no ice, and tasted like margarita mix. She couldn't understand what we were saying and called the young manager over to interpret. He told us that the margaritas came out of a box. A BOX?'!! This restaurant has a huge bar set up and they serve margaritas out of a box! The same gal brought me another margarita- it was really the original one she took away as it tasted exactly the same- no ice and my glass didn't have fresh salt on the rim. I gave up on a better tasting and colder margarita even though they charge a small fortune for their boxed drinks! For dinner, I ordered the vegetable enchiladas. When I cut into the enchiladas the vegetables were from a frozen Asian stir fry mix complete with pea pods! Since when do enchiladas have pea pods in them?!! My husband ordered the Chimichanga which had a rectangular shaped processed chicken inside of it. Their food also lacks seasoning and we had to add the side of salsa they brought with the chips to jazz up our dinners. The guacamole tasted like they took it out of a container from Costco. Nothing was made to order- it was thrown together using store bought frozen food. To top everything off, we had tummy issues for two days after eating there. Perhaps a few new chefs in their kitchen who actually cook authentic Mexican dishes and use fresh vegetables and real chicken- not processed, and an actual bartender who creates authentic margaritas and other drinks would do the trick to help make this restaurant much more palatable and safe to eat! Google of course had this place 5 stars, because they pay for it. Lady at the front was nice. Service was real slow, saw the chip guy a bunch but the waiter a little. Red salsa is not good at all, water. Green sauce was real good. Enchiladas looked like microwave and tasted like it too. Don't think I will be back. read more

I was here with a party of 16 and the staff handled the crowd very well. The food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had chicken diablo which was chicken rolled in cheese and a jalepeno wrapped in bacon. Overall it was very good, with the exception that some of the bacon was fatty and not thoroughly cooked. I peeled it off and ate around it. Their chips and salsa are in my opinion a little weird. The salsa has little stings of something strung all throughout it which makes it look like there is hair in it which it's not, but still kinda weird. This visit was for a birthday party and they came out and sang happy birthday which was very nice. We would return. read more

Hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a shopping center across from Super Target. This place has very simple decor, with green booths & 20+ faux woodgrain tables with beige painted walls, which lends itself to a calm but open main dining area. There is a separate room with a bar & another handful of tables. The food here is less costly and the quality is equal or better than many other non-chain Mexican restaurants in the area. My preferred choices are - no. 1 order of 3 "Sour Cream Enchiladas" but, I ONLY get cheese, so no chicken and I request them filled with white cheese (usually Monterey Jack) and flour tortillas. no. 2 Shrimp Bravos minus the jalapeño also each plate comes with typical rice/beans or sub the refried beans for "charro" beans and all is well. The shrimp are large and fresh with tails on & filling **Bonus - FREE Ice Cream & cones in the back for after the meal! Cheers and see you out eating. read more

From the margaritas that were made using what I assume was the cheapest mix available (they were cloyingly sweet) to the sort of tasteless food, from chicken fajitas A(how do you mess this up ) to some mismatch of an enchilada plate that.l my date ordered. I've been to Las Cascadas a few times and it is a really good Tex Mex restaurant. Service is a little slow, at least on the times I have visited. The food is really good though and they make killer Margaritas. Very tasty and go great with the food. My favorite dish is the Friday's Special. They have it everyday that is just the name of it. It consists of guacamole salad, crispy bean taco and chile con queso on your first plate. Second plate comes with two cheese enchiladas and re-fried beans and rice. A very filling dish and reasonably priced at $8.75. They have happy hour from 4-6 and that is a great time to sip on some tasty Margaritas. I drink mine on the rocks with salt and they are very good here. Desserts I have tried are the fried ice cream and sopapillas. The fried ice cream is just okay and not as good as I have had at other places. The sopapillas though were soft and rich. Served with honey and powdered sugar on top. This is a great local Tex Mex restaurant. If I don't feel like driving far for a good meal, this is my go to spot. I have always had a good meal on each visit. read more

This hole in the wall Mexican place has decent food for a decent price. This isn't where you go to take a date but rather where the family goes to eat out on a budget. The food was alright, but nothing amazing... it's a great example of getting what you pay for. The ambiance of the place is also kind of poor. It's got a family friendly layout but smells of smoke and has a rather large bar area. So I'm not really sure what's going on with this place. I wouldn't drive far to get here, but if you live in the area and just want some okay food and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is your place. read more

May 2018. To me the first sign of a very good Mexican restaurant is the chips and the salsa. The chips were bagged chips that did not have a corn taste... they tasted like cardboard. the red salsa was very cold and very bland. the green salsa actually tasted pretty good but I couldn't get past the chips. I ordered a small margarita it did not taste like a margarita ... it tasted like straight up lime juice . so while I was not eating the chips or drinking a margarita, I went through the menu. ithe menu is way too big and That tells me that they don't do any of the dishes great. We went here on the recommendation from next-door app. I wasn't too crazy about it. Food was meh. The server seemed ditsy. Took my drink order and then took off without asking for my husband's drink order. We seemed to be waiting more on her. She seemed to forget what we asked for.
