Today, I tried the Lengua (tongue) Tacos. My dad said it was tasting me while I was tasting it lol. Well, it tasted pretty good with some sour cream and guacamole. I wonder how I tasted...

Been 3 times now. Great service. Great food. Great price. Horchata is REALLY good! Why do I have to post atleast 85 characters on yelp??

Food is good... Menudo varies.. either spot on or so so... Service is good too.. but, bathrooms need major improvements! Would have given 4 stars but I view bathroom condition and cleanliness as a very critical on my list.. for a guy we can work around this.. as for kids and the gals room .. um no. Just my opinion..

This is the best Seafood Soup I've had. We ordered pork tamales too. Way too much to eat; but so delicious.

Great people, great service, exceptional food, and super reasonably priced. I highly recommend going out of your way to get here. There chips and salsa (heated) were wonderful. We ordered a half dozen tamales. With the seafood soup there was way too much to eat.

    Chicken & Beef fajita

Walk in the door you're treated to view of the average authentic Mexican restaurant. Friendly service, but not overly attentive (just shy of 5 minutes to get my ticket). They serve their salsa warm, and not overly spicy, but a nice lite heat. The salsa is good, but noting out of the ordinary (where has all the chunky salsa gone?). I ordered the chicken and beef fajita. For the sides, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, let us with sour cream, and yellow rice. Beans were not refried beans (thank God something different). The beans are a very good soup. Best part of the meal. The pico de gallo was a little less than average The guacamole if you want to call it that was more of an avocado paste. The rice was subpar. It was good just not very flavorful. For the fajita: Beef was a good flavor, but a little overcooked making it a LITTLE tough. The chicken was moist and well cooked, but lacked a little on flavor. The grilled onions were only softened, not caramelized much at all. More just heated than cooked. All together it was decent, but nothing to write home to mi Madre about. My interpretation of the 5 rating system (feel free to use): 1 star = DUMP.... NEVER AGAIN I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FREE (wish there was a no star option). The food you would feed a prisoner, only if you didn't like them. 2 star = Crap, fast food...... Only for If you are in a hurry, tight on $, and/or in a rush. (Think big chain places with $1 menu, not HORRIABLE, and sometimes a decent food comes out). 3 star = Okay, worth going on a regular, but has room to improve (Think frequent work lunch spot, Rarely less than Okay, usually Good to really good food) 4 star = Very good, favorite "common" places. Nothing EXCEPTIONAL. (Think casual date, Nicer Chain restaurants usually) 5 star = Reserved for EXTREMELY high quality and/or Exceptional, and  Places that surprise me. (Think first date to impress, anniversary, special occasion) GREAT flavor, great food, ambiance, service, etc... I started using this because I don't like seeing standard restaurants with 5. If I see 5 I expect more than standard.

One of the best Mexican restaurants on this side of Spring. My husband and I have dined in and picked up food to go and both times everything was delicious!

Chicken flautas special (cones with 4; I ate one!)

Good food; very reasonable prices. Tried their breakfast burrito the other day. Good size and tasty. I paid for extra green and red sauce, but the bill was only $5.40. Today, I got a boatload of chow for just a little over $22. Chicken flautas special came with 4 good-sized, very crunchy, flautas (flautii?), rice and beans. I can't name the other dish b/c I pointed to a picture of it on Yelp to order it. Basically beef and enchiladas with white sauce, rice and beans. The beef was good. I've had beef in burritos that was darn near jerky. This beef still had some chewiness to it and good flavor. I also bought 2 eight-ounce containers of hot sauce (one red; one green), side of chips, and an order of churros. The churros were more flavorful than the ones you get at Costco. I'll get about 4 meals out of all this food. For $22. Good neighborhood Mexican food at reasonable prices.

There is great QC, AND management, here. Julio's wife, Elena, stopped by the table and checked in the food. She also told us of a wrestling event that was coming up on May 1. She was SO pleasant. Our server, Freddy, got the order in perfectly, even though there were 7 of us. The prices were reasonable. The food again was spot on. We WILL return! BTW, the watermelon margarita was wonderful! TLDR: Thar food, those ritas. This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!

The horchata stood out right away, perfectly sweet and easily one of the best I've found in the city. I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos, which were solid, and the huevos ahogados with frijoles charros, both full of flavor and well-prepared. The empanadas were also great, especially the chicken and cheese, that one was my favorite. To finish, I tried the pan de elote, and it was excellent. Overall, a really strong breakfast experience with authentic flavors across the board. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

All of our items were fresh and delicious! I was enchanted by the atmosphere and presence of the owner and her family. We have already been back for a different special on this week's menu! We especially love the creamy poblano corn empanadas. We fought over one last time, but this time we each got our own. The waitstaff we have had both times is very sweet, but does not speak or understand English very well and was unable to really help us decide this second time, so we just took her recommendation. One of the items she recommended, the Huarachon, was not my favorite, but the other items were very good. We would have especially enjoyed some interaction with the chef-owner or the gentleman who seems to be her husband, since it did not seem very busy at the time, but they simply said "hello". Hopefully next time! And there will be a next time!
