Although the guacamole was bland, needed salt and pepper, and perked right up; the Mexican Shrimp Cevichie was tasty and the Tortilla Soup was quite good. Portions were large. The Alicia Special Margherita was excellent but should be for what they charge; most expensive item on my ticket. Oh well. The only downside and what really irritated me was no dirty dishes were cleared away until I asked for the check. Salsa is spicy. The chips are thin and crispy. The mushroom and spinach enchilada is warm, has a thin cheesy sauce, and is a little salty. I like that there is so much wilted spinach. The refried beans are satisfyingly hot. The Mexican rice is not warm, has good flavor, and has texture similar to fried rice. You can get free soft serve (chocolate or vanilla) from the machine in the front on your way out or when you finish your meal. It's a an icy milky, not a creamy milky. The host came by and checked on my dining experience. My waitress came by often to check on my status, even though I didn't need anything. read more

Wife and I go here as our "fancy Mexican food experience" place. We have always received good service and the ambiance is nice, though sometimes it can be loud inside but most Mexican restaurants are, it seems. We love the fajitas (adding a sausage) for one as it's always enough for us. I highly recommend going here for date night or just take the family but remember it's not cheap but not $$$ type of money. read more

Been to the Alicia's location off 290w in Cypress a couple times a few years ago. Decent place and decent food. I only went to this location last night as a friend called last minute and wanted to meet for dinner. Overall this is a decent place to get a good meal...it's Tex-Mex so not legit Mexican food but the only bad thing is they are high priced compared to better actual Mexican restaurants in the same area. I ordered the chicken Alicia $17.95 since it was one of the cheapest things on menu and also had a tall draft beer $8. For a $28.09 total. Similar chicken breast meals at other places are usually 12.95-14.95 The chicken Alicia is a chicken breast grilled and served on top of a bed of spinach with sauced mushrooms and artichoke hearts with rice and broccoli Over all well seasoned and tasted great no complaints...in fact I recommend it. A friend and I visited this location on a Saturday night. It wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. I ordered shrimp ceviche and was surprised when it arrived. It was not the typical ceviche, it included sweet potatoes and corn nuts which were so hard that I was afraid it would break my tooth. It didn't taste at all like the traditional ceviche as it was vinegar based and did not taste good. I sent it back and was surprised that the server said nothing. Food was substandard. We paid $60 for Fajitas Alicia's Beef and it was terrible. There wasn't enough meat for 2 people and the meat was overall just bad. It was tinged with blood, which my husband loves but not this time - no taste and every piece was fatty. Their beef used to taste phenomenal but not anymore. The tortillas were wrapped and super hot but as soon as they hit the air, they were totally stiff. They heat them to make you think they are fresh but they are not. If I could give this 0 Stars I would. To start off the Staff didn't even speak English and it was very hard to understand what was even going on. Next, as soon as we sat down a the restaurant had a contractor taking down a shelf about 10 feet away from our table. The Owner or manager was just sitting there watching them, not caring about how loud it was for the customers. I could not even hear a conversation at our table. When the food came out, it was about a 5/10, nothing crazy. There is definitely way better places you can go for $20 a plate. When I was eating the contractor almost hit me with these big long alcohol shelves, shown in the picture. They came closer than a foot to hitting my head. Better enough the people that were moving it just laughed and so did the owner. Absolute 0 respect. Ate here with some friends while visiting the area and loved it! The chips were so fresh and the salsa had great flavor and spice. They also gave out with the chips some type of guacamole/lime/cilantro dip. We ordered the pastor street tacos and they were so good! The service was superb! If I lived here this would definitely be my go to Mexican cravings spot. They also have a self serve ice cream which had a very sweet soft serve that was very frozen and not melty or runny at all. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food was OK. The house chips and salsa were good, I found the Queso to be a bit salty. My wife ordered the Chile Relleno. She said it was ok but she didn't see any egg whatsoever in it. I ordered a chicken burrito smothered in queso sauce, again, it was OK. We also ordered a Cadillac margarita and sweet iced tea both of which were good. The Cadillac margarita was way too expensive though. My wife and I base restaurant food in comparison to how we prepare food, and if it is not at least as good as we can do it, we typically won't return, why should we pay for something that we could make better. Took my family here for Easter for dinner. This is quite possibly the worst food I've ever been served by a restaurant. I ordered cheese enchiladas. They came out with hunks of unmelted shredded cheese in them. The gravy on the top was the consistency of water and was a light brown color with a few pieces of shredded cheese thrown on top. It was very pricey and totally inedible. I threw away the entire 15$ enchilada dinner. It was 60$ for 2 adult entrees and a burrito with 3 waters. Never again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Horrible inedible food. I did take a pic of what they called cheese enchiladas - nothing but tortilla filled with shredded cheese. Highly disappointed for an expensive price. Would have given 1 star, but the waiter was nice, so guess I'll give an extra star for service. read more

Great experience here for Father's Day lunch! Service was fantastic! As soon as we were seated our waiter wished my husband a Happy Father's Day and it only got better after that with constant attentiveness of our needs by various staff members. We had a manager and other members of the wait staff constantly refilling chips & water and noticing my son needed an extra plate. It was above and beyond service I've had at other similar establishments. We also loved the decor! The high ceilings, Mexican art, light fixtures and color palette made us feel like we were at a fancy place in Mexico. Now let's talk about the food! The beef fajitas were fabulously tender and flavored with just the right amount of lime. Rice had a nice mix of vegetables in it which is rare to see anymore. Both refried and charro beans were very tasty. The carnitas were super flavorful with a generous portion for the price. My husband was also impressed with the handmade corn tortillas which were the best he's had in a while. We left completely happy that we took a chance on trying a new Tex Mex place and will definitely be back! read more

When we lived in the Spring area my husband and I used to stop here on the reg for lunch. We haven't been in here in awhile. Today we were headed to Houston so we took a detour to go have lunch here. The service was slow, we stood in front waiting for a hostess to seat us for a good 5 minutes before a waitress seen us standing there, stopped what she was doing to seat us. After the waiter took our order we waited another 25 to 30 minutes for the food to be brought out, if it was busy I wouldn't have minded the wait, however it had a handful of customers. The food I can't complain about it was on point, they have the best beef fajitas around, the food itself I'd give a 5. You have to be careful here when they bring you the check, they tried to charge us over $50 for the lunch beef fajitas, which on the menu it said it was $35, when my husband asked the waiter about it he said he had to go see and took the check with him. Later he returned and said it was his fault he normally works evenings, this isn't the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time we've been here were they try and over charge you. When I used to order lunch to go I remember the former manager arguing with me over the price, as a matter of fact the 2nd to the last time I went to Alicia's the former manager told me they raised the prices. On the final time I went the price was its normal lunch price, I got tired of fighting with them to charge me what the menu said the prices were and stopped going. If you're looking for good food, I'd say if it a go just be careful and pay attention when you are paying. read more

Had lunch here with my friend and his family today. This was my first visit and I am happy with the experience. The spinach mushroom enchiladas were exactly what I wanted them to be - savory, textured, and delicious - and my friend with the ceviche was incredibly happy with it. I had two large margaritas (Rocks, no salt) and was still fine to drive, so not all that strong. Tasty, though! The only "complaint" I can come up with is that the chips seemed a tad bit on the stale side, but that green sauce can cover a multitude of sins. Will be back! read more

Being new to the area, we are visiting a lot of mexican places and trying to figure out which one is best to put on our "A list," and there's a lot out there. A friend of ours came by last night and brought home the leftover food catered by Alicia's unexpectedly. It certainly was a surprise as i was in the middle of cooking dinner when she arrived. Her son is spending the 2nd night over, so she told the kids she was coming over bringing food, and they forgot to tell me. Let me tell you this! I was so grateful she came by. Not only was there tons of food, but the quality of the food was perfect even after when it was delivered to her work (5 hours earlier). So there's a tray of refried beans (creamy and delicious), a tray of mexican rice (very good, fluffy and flavourful without onions and cilantro), a try of homemade tortillas, big and delicious, a huge plate of pico de gallo (it is flavourful and so fresh), a try of fajita meat mix of steak and chicken on a bed of sauteed onions. My goodness! The texture of the meat is perfectly cooked, not burnt, very tender, and not chewy that your jaw hurts. The grilled chicken is so full of flavour that even some of the burnt ends taste perfect. Then, let's not forget the bag of chips; they are crispy and light, just as I love it and should be. Not thick and not thin, just perfect. The salsa is amazing, the aroma of the tomatoes, garlic, onions, a hint of pepper, and jalapeno (perhaps) adds flavour to the mix, crushed pepper, and salt is light but perfect! We can't wait to visit their establishment soon. To eat their amazing food as they were prepared would be thrilling. *I will give a new post after our visit! read more

You know how since the pandemic started service everywhere kinda went down? Well Alicia's is like the before times and killing it! This place is a well oiled machine. The hostess anticipated our needs and sat us quickly and efficiently. The server (who was cute) was quick and efficient taking our order, too. I haven't ever not enjoyed coming here, but I typically don't come here both due to the location but also the price. I mean, you get what you pay for that's certain, but for the price I can go to El Tiempo and have a bit higher quality of chips and sides. Don't get me wrong though - I've never had an entree here I didn't like. But as my mom used to say, I want the whole experience to be great, not just the entree. The chips were thin (which I prefer as long as they don't have a lot of grease - these didn't) but they just didn't taste fresh. The guac looked and tasted like it was fresh squeezed from a bag - more like puréed avocado and not guacamole. It's always so disappointing when restaurants use small ice cream scoops to serve what should be a nice dip, and even worse when they dump it on top of lettuce (at least it was a single leaf and not shredded iceberg). The red sauce was good - but it didn't make either of us say "wow this is really good." Come to think of it - neither of us dipped more than a couple of chips into it, but my coworker did use it to flavor the "guacamole." The entree was amazing. And this is where I really give Alicia's their credit. Today I tried something new for me which was the Pollo con Rajás, and I will definitely be ordering it again! Even though I was disappointed in how thick the corn tortillas were (like thin pancakes rather than tortillas), I enjoyed the meal itself. And truly, it was WOW! I wouldn't order the guac again, and I would forgo the chips and dip as well as not get the tortillas, but I would order the entree again and again. read more

I would rate zero stars, if I could. They have change the quality of the meat on their fajitas and charge more for it. It was like eating the ass end of a cow, that was over cooked and tasted like beef jerky. Many customers have been complaining of quality but the owner has not changed it back.
