Second time trying this location, met a friend for lunch in the bar. Food and drinks were unremarkable. Service was poor at best but the attitude of the young man behind the bar was reprehensible. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and the bacon was partially raw. The queso blanco did not taste good, it tasted like melted provolone cheese.We ate with plastic utensils bc there was no more silverware available. When we asked for napkins bc the waiter spilled our cocktails, he brought us only 3 small napkins and we cleaned off the mess. My husband and I came to this location and were told it would be a 25 min wait. We waited for about 25 mins or so, and were taken back to a table where there was a large party of 16 people or so, and it was very loud - you couldn't even hear yourself think. We went back to the front and asked for another table, and the not-so-nice hostess rudely said "oh you will need to wait another 25-30 mins for a new table". What?! We've never heard of that before.... and not to mention they were not that busy. Terrible service and the asst. manager on duty was absolutely zero help and did not provide any assistance at all. Went for granddaughter's 14th birthday. DH has Celiac so asked about the queso and we were told it did contain wheat. No biggie - he has learned to suffer. We all (10) order and 30-40 minutes go by when my daughter asks the waitress to at least get her dad's food as he must take meds WITH food by 7:30. Then the manager comes to tell us that he cannot have the beef enchiladas because ALL of their sauces contain wheat. Ground beef contains wheat. Rice contains wheat....Okay....but he then explains that basically he can only have black beans and guacamole. (He may have mentioned chicken - cannot be sure because I was steaming and we couldn't wait any longer) He eats his beans and guacamole with corn tortillas and my dinner was good (although by now I've eaten a ton of chips). Now he's about to fall out of his chair because he had to take meds before food arrived. It took a LOOOONG time to get the bills (3 of them for 10 of us...not too hard) I leave my cc for daughter to pay while I go get the car. When she brings me my cc - guess what - they forgot to remove the $18 been enchiladas. I had to leave him sleeping in the car while I went to the bar to have them re-run my card. Honestly, a combination of errors. What gets me the most though is the lack of gluten free menu items. I operate a restaurant with an extensive menu and it is NOT THAT HARD to get gluten free beef and chicken base (among other things). To whom it may concern My wife and I dined at Uncle Julio's restaurant tonight around 7 pm at the Arlington location. The service was absolutely terrible, we were skipped in line and sat outside. I ordered a alcoholic beverage and it came to the table incorrect twice. Throughout this entire dining experience we were not apologized to by any member of the staff, to my surprise the manager didn't even come to check on the situation. To make matters worse we were out for a friends birthday, whose eight month old was very fussy and hot from being in the heat, we waited an hour and forty-five minutes to be seated and over two hours to receive our food, not to mention I hadn't eaten all day. This place never fails us. Excellent staff, amazing food, and don't get me started on the margaritas! They refill your chips and salsa before you're even done with them. Also, HUGE shoutout to the manager that knew every ingredient in every dish on the menu. Our friend has a gluten allergy and the manager not only answered her questions but made several recommendations for her. She said it was the best experience she has had at a restaurant when asking about gluten free items on the menu. The service is always quick and accurate. I would highly recommend the steak fajitas! Amazing service!!! Bartender Mimo was the best server , he anticipated all our needs. The food is sooooo fresh that you think they went out back but come to find out Uncle Julio's have a butcher which makes sense. Drinks are also great . I loved this place! My family and I came a little close to closing time after my show and the waitress we had was sooooo sweet and still served us with so much patience. I enjoyed my fajitas but the service was terrible! The food took a long time. When it finally came the plates had been sitting at the window for a while, delivered to us by different staff members and were hot to the touch. Our servers never came back to check on us. As we were delivered just the food by different staff no one brought us plates for our fajitas. When we finally got our plates the grilled jalapeños we ordered with our food came as we were finishing our meal. This location is horrible! My husband and I came for dinner, it looked like there was 2-3 groups waiting prior... hostess said there would be a 35 min wait. That's fine. What's not okay is that waiting for 45 minutes... still not getting a buzz. My husband gets up to see how much longer the wait is and she tells him they already buzzed us. NO. Never got a buzz. First and last visit. The place just opened and when I used the bathroom discovered they had no soap or paper towel. I'm guess the waitress at the sink when I walked in washed her hands in water only, same as the one at the sink when I came out. Another waiter told the manager and he said they would get the soap and towel, no apology. By the time they got soap so I could wash my hands the chips were cold. So that was a plus. We took at look at the menu and all we seen was an over priced menu. Pretty much everything on the menu was about $20 and up. We started with the Ceviche.. The Ceviche was decent. I went ahead and ordered the Juanita's Platter.. it came with Tamales, Beef Hard Taco, Beef, and Chicken Enchiladas. My buddy got the shrimp tacos dinner. He said it was on the sweet side for him. First time there and I will be back. The service was great. Our waiter (Ray)was able to suggest some dishes and describe them to a T. He also was fast and accurate with our order, and handled dish modifications with no problem. The food was very good, we had the table side Guacamole, and it was some of the best and freshest Guacamole I have ever had. The fajitas were delicious as well. I love their beef fajitas, but I won't be back to this location. The service is terrible and the restaurant lacks the charm and character of the ft worth location. We went at lunch and when we walked in there was a terrible mildew smell from the bar. It was overwhelming. Our server was very slow and actually declined to take our order at first because of how "busy" he was. He dropped off our check and left us a self-pay device. Never brought the receipts that we asked for. I had to go to the bar for a to-go drink refill, and again, the smell in there was awful. As we were leaving, an older couple asked the hostess fur a table for six. She told them she couldn't seat them until the whole party was there. At that time the place was nearly empty (at lunch hour - a bad sign!) but she wouldn't seat them. They might have ordered an appetizer while they waited for their friends, but not if they didn't get seated. High prices, poor service, nasty smell. No thanks! read more

Let me start by saying the pork carnitas tacos were so yummy. The pork meat was cooked to perfection. It was tender, crispy and juicy. The guacamole, pico and queso dip were absolutely delicious. I also really enjoyed the house margarita on the rocks, very strong which is a plus. Unfortunately the chips and salsa are a first impression of a restaurant and the chips and salsa at Uncle Julio's were very disappointing. The chips were served super greasy and they're terribly thin! The salsa had no flavor and no spice at all! I recommend they change salsa recipes immediately! My husband had cheese enchiladas and the corn tortillas were hard and did not taste that good. The cilantro lime rice was mediocre as well as the pinto beans. The black beans however, were so good tasting and had a little kick! They have a good selection of food but can be a little pricey. Overall, it's a nice atmosphere but little improvements would make this place easily earn 5 stars. read more

Great atomsphere .... this rating is only in regard the Tortilla soup. It was awful! It had zero flavor and was barely warm.

I've been a fan of Uncle Julio's for years and this new Arlington location lived up to the standard and didn't disappoint. Memo behind the bar served up some AMAZING service and grapefruit margaritas. I ordered tableside guacamole which added the perfect touch. The only complaint I have is that the building design blocks me from getting any decent service on my phone and UJ doesn't allow their customers to login to their wifi network. Access to wifi would benefit both the company and it's patrons as they could receive free marketing from customers wanting to tag their location to post pictures of their delicious drinks and food.
