This place was great. Then they closed shop, moved and never re-opened. Supposedly you can view their warehouse online, but the website isn't updated anymore. I'm guessing, they only do business with contractors now, because they don't answer phones, don't update the website, don't list any locations for customers... but somehow claim they are still open. I guess uncle Benny only cares about his political campaign now. What a shame, I used to wander the yard and leave with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff I didn't know I needed. read more

Unique place with lumber, sinks, doors, etc. There are a lot of antique finds but prepare to go on a treasure hunt. Everything is organized to a degree. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a ton of cool doors and old school light fixtures. Happy hunting! read more

Uncle Benny's can be pretty intimidating. My first few times there I was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and not comfortable with asking for help. But, I was determined to find a unique front door for my home. The last time I went I made my way to the front counter and found Benny Jr. And, WOW. I have never come across someone so helpful. The place was packed with people, but I never felt rushed. He helped me find the perfect front door (YAY!) and helped me with some other small items. I've since emailed with questions and get same day responses! The prices are AMAZING. I got very unique items and solutions for my home at a fraction of what they would cost elsewhere. I've been shopping for over a year for a whole house remodel (on a tight budget) and I've never come across this much good stuff or this level of service. Used to love this place, but they just lost my business due to their disregard for customer safety, as the first 3 employees we saw at the front desk had no masks on. Funny how they have a "Masks Required" sign on the front door,yet they failed to abide by it themselves. read more

They are very well priced and I feel better knowing I am recycling materials. Last year we purchased a door for about $50, then came back to pick it up and discovered it was damaged in a way that we couldn't fix. I was looking for a granite remnant slab to make into a countertop. The employees were extremely helpful in moving around granite which is so heavy so I could see some pieces. They also helped measure out pieces to see if they would work. Uncle Benny's pricing on door and base solid wood trim (great variety of woods and styles) is unbeatable. I LOVE Uncle Benny's! If you ever think uncle Benny's is "overpriced", I recommend browsing around Home Depot, Lowe's, etc and I can guarantee you will find lower quality items at Home Depot, priced as gold. I go to Uncle Benny's very often as I love DIY projects, and I find their items to be VERY reasonably priced. I feel a lot of people don't put into consideration what the materials are made of, and/or where they were from. For instance you may look at a door and think it's overpriced, until you realize it's actually a genuine hand crafted pine door or something. It is a used item store, so just like any other used item store you will find junk, but they don't say "one mans junk is another mans treasure" for nothing! The first time I ever went to Uncle Benny's I was looking for deck screws. I first went to Lowe's and saw a pack of 40 deck screws for $6. Clearly I needed A LOT, for my project. Not wanting to spend over $50 on screws I searched around and then came across uncle Benny's, I went in, the nice gentleman helped me find them, low and behold... 200+ deck screws for $10! I've gone into Home Depot before and calculated how much everything would be to build a chicken coop completely from scratch (a fancy rustic chicken coop), roughly around $400. I went to uncle Benny's and found the same stuff (obviously used) all for $150. NOT overpriced in my opinion. A lot of their "junk" is absolutely beautiful for rustic farmhouse designs, or cute garden projects. I find a lot of items there as well that can make my husbands man cave more of a "manly rustic" look. I found wood look TILE at Uncle Benny's, new in the box, literally priced the same as some junky laminate flooring I found at Home Depot. Wood look tile it is! I always and will always recommend Uncle Benny's to everyone, even if they don't necessarily have a project going on. There's too much stuff there to not at least check it out! They have a very wide variety of stuff for sale from almost every era and style. The customer service is what puts them over the top. I drove up from Cheyenne to see if I could find some replacement doors for my rental and they were able to grab some used ones off of the shelf and make them an exact fit. They even went out of their way to do it between other larger more profitable hobs so that I wouldn't have to drive back up from Cheyenne another day. read more

Next time I need building supplies, this will be the LAST place I shop. I came in to find some bi-fold doors. I found some I liked and took a photo to confirm the purchase with my wife. Their return policy is awful so I didn't buy them on the spot. Jan quoted me $40 for the set (4 sections) and put them on a one day hold. I came back that afternoon to buy them and at the register, the price increased to $40 per door/section -- $120 for the bifold set. I told them there was no misunderstanding with my quoted price of $40 for the set. They wouldn't even confirm with her my quote and stayed firm. The price was otherwise unmarked. I believe this to be an unscrupulous business practice. Honor your quotes or revoke your staff's authority to offer quotes you refuse to honor. read more

Not really a second hand building supply company more of an antique artifact store according to them ! Everything you ask for a price on is apparently the only one in the world and priced accordingly ! I've tried to purchase things here but end up going to an actual antique store and paying less!! Not sure how they stay in business with the higher than retail pricing I guess that's why they still have a lot of the same merchandise every time. I won't be returning anytime soon for sure. They seem to size your net worth up before giving you a price too so maybe wear some ratty clothes if you have to buy something here! Complete disappointment! read more

Since moving to Loveland, I try to avoid the big box stores and give the business to a local Coloradoan. I love going here to get ideas of how to complete a furniture project. Uncle Benny's has a great selection of, well, just about everything. I use a lot of drawer pulls and paint. Their paint is fresh and not crusty. I have gone to Habitat and bought some bad quality paint. I am a big fan of Habitat and giving my money to charity, but for quality I go to Uncle Benny's. When I need something specific, I go to Uncle Benny's. They know their lot and their inventory very well. I can call to see if they have something before I go there and I am always directed to the right spot. Thanks for being there for us! Thank you for keeping materials out of the landfills. I've been dealing with Uncle Benny's since 1996. They are fair, honest, friendly and now have almost everything in building supplies. It is always great to save money when buying supplies, but I very much appreciate the fair prices he gives to me when I bring things to him for sale. I tell all my friends to try them out. I am very surprised any one would complain about them. I was looking for stepping stones and they wanted a $1.00 per piece. REALLY: Home Depot had the same thing for 96 cents each. I found their prices high. Other items as well I thought were high. They wanted $17 for some blinds THAT HAD NO HARDWARE. I think I will stick to ARC or Restore. But definitely a interesting visit. read more

This place is a treasure! Lots of inventory turn over, but definitely a place to go for flipping, redoing your own place, or just to junk shop! The inventory ranges from nails for roofing to antique stoves and burl wood! I even saw display cases and commercial baking ovens. Incredible and well worth the search. Prices cannot be beat.
