Yes yes yes. A perfect evening! Our sake and sushi were fantastic! We ordered specifically from the Chefs recommended menus. The dishes were imaginative and delicious.

Umi has only been open for about a month. The original eden burger is now completely at the 3rd floor and Umi by eden takes up the entire first floor. The seating is a mix of tables and lounge style. They also have bar style seating in the middle. Amy was our server/bartender and she was amazing and very sweet. We had spicy tuna hand rolls, popcorn shrimp, and a lemon roll. All of the food tasted great. I had the lychee martini which was sooo good, highly recommend it!

A new and beautiful location below Eden has just opened and we are so excited to be here!! First things first: the moment we walk in the atmosphere, and the vibe is absolutely beautiful. Word of advice: dress to impress. They bring hot towels the moment you sit down. And the menu selection is absolutely wonderful. Fully romantic setting, so if you're looking to take your date, this is the spot for you. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Are we just was a sweetheart can't wait to come back.

Umi by Eden is a great spot for dinner. They offer dinner starting at 6pm on their first floor & rooftop lounge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first floor which they call Umi is dimly lit, intimate and romantic - great for date night, business meal &/or special events.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]the rooftop lounge was more bright, spacious and open. When the windows are open there is fresh air coming in and adds to the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is professional, and attentive. The host is polite and friendly. There is a new sushi chef & we were recommended by locals - we are happy we tried Umi. The menu has a variety of cold & hot options for appetizers & entrees and the cocktail menu is quite extensive. We loved the drinks we selected - market margarita & caymus wine. We also heard lot great things about their lychee martini and we enjoyed that very much! For appetizers we ordered spicy tuna crispy rice, rock shrimp & famous truffle fries - everything was so delicious and portions were good, even generous. For entrees we ordered Spanish Bluefin Tuna Sashimi, Bluefin Toro, Albacore Cut Roll & Black Label Burger - we loved it all! Definitely recommend Umi by Eden in Glendale!! Will come back!!

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed! The décor and atmosphere are beautiful, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. Zack the bartender made the best drinks! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music and overall vibe made it the perfect spot for a fun girls' night out, or a cute date![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is elegant and chic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came here for sushi. Sushi was good, but I usually prefer fresh fish not masked in so much sauce. Service is quick and friendly.

Originally booked Eden's menu but was glad we were able to order sushi from the Umi menu. Was pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh, delicious, and best sushi I've had in Glendale in a long time. Happy this is a solid sushi option now. Favorites were the lemon roll, lime roll, and spicy tuna on crispy rice.

Dining in Los Angeles often comes at the price of dealing with poor hospitality, but here I experienced some of the best, and the food was even better. We went by the suggestions of our enthusiastic waitress, and they did not disappoint! The food was so good I forgot to take pictures until the end, which I am sure my friends appreciated since I like getting every angle of the dishes when I do. Will post more info for pt. 2 Pt I of my review of the dishes I *need* you to know the journey my taste buds were taken on: CEVICHE MISO CONES (5/5): The ceviche is composed of 4 different types of fish marinated in a tangy yuzu ponzu and scooped like ice cream into these adorable salty, sweet miso sesame cones. The attention to detail and creativity goes down to the mountain of puffed rice the cones are wedged into (they don't taste like much outside of crisp, crunchy air, if that makes sense). UNI TOAST (5/5): Listen, the texture and taste of uni has NEVER sat well with me, but THIS was the surprise of a lifetime (literally and figuratively, the manager sent it as a gift). The brioche toast was crumbly, lightly sweet and oily; the sauces gave a salty, sweet, savory layer; and the Santa Barbra uni was the freshest, mouth melting texture I didn't know could come from uni (maybe I have only ever had bad uni before this, but WOW this has opened my horizons to try uni in the future elsewhere and more confidently) BAKED SALMON HANDROLL (4.5/5): The warm handroll is delivered on sesame speckled soy paper, generously stuffed with rice; buttery hass avocado; perfectly baked rich, fatty King Salmon; and an airy, slightly dulcet kewpie mayo snow crab mix. The only thing I would change is opting for nori paper in the future. NOTE: My friends LOVED the soy paper, but I feel like the salty crunch of nori would better compliment the sweet notes of the handroll. HALIBUT SASHIMI (6/5): My favorite dish of all! The halibut was lightly oceanic, lean, but firm, rolled into upright cyclinders; topped with cilantro flowers and a piquant yuzu pickled thai chili. They were placed in a pool of citrusy heaven (but they call it leche de tigre) with cilantro oil piped parallel to the halibut. If you try anything, try THIS RED SNAPPER SASHIMI (5.1/5): Uni toast was my conversion, this was my best friend's. The japanese red snapper was nutty and delicate in flavor with a firm, but tender texture. As was instructed, I rolled the madai in a bit of everything: Think thick tangy creme fraiche; an almost floral, candied, zesty note from kumquat; hanaho; and a cloud of umami soy-yuzu foam. I may be missing some ingredients, but glad to say I didnt miss out on this unique dish with flavors I never thought would compliment one another. It was sensational and my second favorite dish I tried. The things that happen when you ask! One of my friends is vegetarian and the executive chef was kind enough to help create vegetarian versions of their dishes with his team since we were the only guests there (NOTE: They let us know they normally can't on busy days, but as fate would have it, we lucked out). She was exstatic to be offered more than their vegan lemon roll, and man did they pull out the stops. It wasn't just settling for a cucumber roll... No they went ALL OUT for her. I stole one of her vegan crispy rice with BEETS??? One of the best things I have put into my belly. Gut health and plant based fun? A win is a win.

We were greeted very well at the reception. The wait time to be seated was about 10 minutes. The food was just amazing, very tasty, very beautifully served. We drank sake and it was delicious. The coffee was also excellent. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely come back.

A dear friend and I caught up for her belated birthday at Haruka Sake And Sushi, which was once the home of one of our favorite sushi restaurants years ago in Inchiban. Neither of us could recall how long it's been since Ichiban left, but we were amazed that neither of us have tried this replacement since it opened sometime around the pandemic. We both loved to support local businesses in our old neighborhood, so we were excited to see what the new restaurant did to the place. Was it a blissful evening filled with sake, sushi, and stories, or was this place a bit far off from what we happily remembered it to be!? PURCHASE(S) Sapporo Breweries Sapporo Premium Beer 4.9% ABV 22floz Bottle ($9.00 x2): Rich amber color, malty sweet aroma, low body, light malty sweet flavor, clean smooth finish, and light malty sweet aftertaste. Always a favor with sushi! Deep Fried Shishito Peppers ($9.50): Butter sautéed shishito peppers with ponzu sauce, these slightly spicy tasty treats were fun to nibble on between sushi rolls! Sesame Chicken Karaage ($12.50): A bountiful amount of deep-fried sesame seasoned chicken pieces, this was a meal itself as I had to stop myself from feasting on these hot tender crispy nuggets! Garlic Albacore Fresh Cut Roll 8pc ($18.95): Albacore on top of a spicy tuna roll, accompanied by refreshing cucumber and topped with crispy onion and garlic served with a savory garlic ponzu sauce, this was an aromatic delight with plump succulent pieces of fish that melted in your mouth! Lion King Baked Cut Roll 8pc ($18.95): Baked spicy tuna on top of salmon wrapped California roll topped with smelt eggs, green onions, and unagi sauce, each flavorful packed piece was the size of shumai that almost made me snore than roar due to an onset of food coma! Hot Night Tempura Cut Roll 8pc ($17.95): Jalapeño, spicy tuna, sriracha on top of shrimp tempura roll, mild spicy crunch and spicy mayo on top, a beautifully-presented roll with warming spices from start to finish, I was fanning down a bit. Salmon Crazy Tempura Cut Roll 8pc ($17.95): Spicy chopped salmon on top of shrimp tempura roll, topped with spicy mayo and green onions, another beautifully-presented roll this time with buttery salmon and a light sweet tempura casing. SERVICE Warmly greeted by a young hostess, she asked if the bar was fine (which it was) and led us there where we were then met by a friendly gentleman who gave us menus and glasses of water. After a few annoyed attempts by our female server to take our order (we weren't ready), we finally got our shit together and threw it down! Within minutes, everything arrived like an assembly line with minimal space to put it all... but we managed. With plenty of leftovers, they kindly packed everything up, we paid, and off we went into the night - arigato! PARKING (FREE): They shared parking within a smallish strip mall that featured a handful of other businesses such as Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, Rice & Nori, Kobeissi Properties, and more. Otherwise, there were spots along the main drags of Foothill Blvd. and Oakwood Ave. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A clean modern open spacious layout with plenty of barstool, booth, and table seating, and a quieter small back dining room. The bar counter gave access to the chefs as you watched them prepare each creation. No promotional items at all, while the decor was minimalistic Japanese. A decent amount of natural lighting entered through the front doors and windows while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while faint music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Haruka Sake And Sushi was a wonderful replacement for our beloved Ichiban, and we will definitely return! The food was fresh and tasted wonderful, the portions rocked, the menu was vast with plenty of options, the prices were comparable, and the service was outstanding (sorry for making the server wait for us). And, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses (they had three total locations). I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $126.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

We typically go as a party of 5 and there's always a semi private area that's just a perfect area to sit. Let's get to the food we ordered. So we have tweaked their Montrose roll to perfection and call it the Alex roll named after our son. You get the Montrose roll and add lemon slices, salmon, jalapeño slices and a dot of siracha on top. Be forewarned that there's an extra charge for the additions but definitely worth it! Their dragon roll, baked crawfish roll, rainbow roll and Philadelphia are definitely our go tos also. And we tried the Cajun Tuna roll this time as well. All super fabulous and worth going back as often as you can for sure. Thank you for a great sushi establishment so close to home. I had the filet and chicken combination, with chicken liver as my appetizer. Overall, everything was good. The chicken breast was slightly overcooked and a bit tough, but I would much rather have well-done chicken than risk it being undercooked. The chicken liver was surprisingly good, especially considering it was only my second time ever having it. The dinner presentation was nice, as always. A bit cheesy, but entertaining. Service was somewhat lacking. I asked for water twice and never received it, and eventually had to flag down a server from another table. We also requested to-go containers and never received those either. I will mention something that did not affect my rating, since I understand this is simply how the restaurant operates. If your party is not large enough to fill a station, you will share a table with another group. As I mentioned, the family seated with us had two small children, one of whom cried for most of the meal. As anyone knows, the sound of a crying child can be quite piercing and obnoxious, so it is just something to keep in mind. All in all, it was still a fun experience, and we will definitely be back.
