We ordered two Boba drinks. There was one customer in front of us that ordered two Boba drinks and popcorn chicken. They were making so many drinks out of order. One of our drinks sat there for five minutes as did the people in front of us popcorn chicken just sat there. We ended up getting our two drinks before the other people and when we left, they were still waiting. I'm guessing they have online orders. When the store opened up. It was clean and cute. now it is dirty and it doesn't look like anything has been wiped down. If the front is this sturdy. I can't imagine what the back is like. The young lady that was helping us had the dirtiest apron. It was disgusting. I will be going to the location inside the great mall and not back to this Location. I gave three stars because the two Boba drinks that we did get were excellent and had plenty of fruit and jelly. **Updated Review - July 15, 2023** I came into Ume Tea for some boba and snacks tonight and left very disappointed compared to my first time. While I understand that busy times can lead to delays, it would be beneficial to provide more accurate wait times for customers. I initially placed my order online and received a confirmation that my order would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I never received a status update on my order so I went inside to check and see if it was ready after waiting about 45 mins and it still hadn't been prepared yet. It wasn't until an hour later that my order of fries and tea were ready. Once I sat down to eat my food, I realized that the fries were completely cold. As a guest, there's nothing more frustrating than to wait 3x your expected wait time and still receive your food cold. I would like to offer a suggestion to the management regarding ways to enhance their operations for picking up orders. First, having accurate wait times would make a huge difference so that the customer is fully aware of the long wait time as opposed to assuming it would actually be ready in 15-20 mins as it says. Since Ume Tea is a small boba shop, it is challenging to navigate through the crowded space and identify who has been attended to. I would designate one person specifically for pickups and online orders and continue asking the guests who needs to be helped with their orders to clear up space and get them taken care of in a more efficient manner. There were a lot of people standing around and you have no idea who's in line waiting to place an order on the kiosk or who's standing around waiting to be helped by a staff member. Having some type of structure and organization can go a long way in improving the customer and staff's experience. read more

I can absolutely see why their products are more expensive and totally think the quality of their dessert drinks surpass Bambu or similar dessert cafes. At the same time I have to acknowledge that I can order a che ba mau at another dessert spot and have my craving satisfied for less money. For me, this makes Co Ba a special treat that I wouldn't be able to have all the time.

Coffee and Chai is a great spot for studying as there are lots of tables and it's quiet. Our barista today also turned out to be the owner of the cafe. Such a sweet, accommodating man!! We got a masala chai, a cardamom chai, and a matcha latte- all hot cos it's so chilly in San Jose around this time of year. I preferred the masala chai, but both chai lattes were yummy! Spiced so deliciously and definitely helped warm us up. My grandpa got the matcha and was pleased with the taste as it was unsweetened but not bitter at all. Regardless of whether you need a quick pick-me-up, a local study/work spot, or even someplace to catch up, this lovely cafe should be the next place you try out!

Ume Tea is a milk tea place located in a busy plaza in Milpitas. The parking is easy to find, and the outdoor seating all over the plaza provides a nice atmosphere for customers. However, during Sunday lunch hour, the place gets super busy, so expect a longer wait time. The ordering process can be a bit frustrating as there is only one available order machine. This can cause a long wait time just to place your order. However, the food and drinks come out fast, making up for the wait time at the ordering station. The pricing is pretty standard for a milk tea place. You can add spiciness to your food, which is a nice touch. I ordered the takoyaki and curly fries, and both were delicious. The takoyaki had a crispy exterior and was filled with savory octopus pieces. The curly fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making for the perfect side dish. I also ordered their famous mochi milk tea, which came with taro chunks. Unfortunately, you cannot change the sugar level. However, the mochi topping is a great combination with the milk tea because the sweetness comes from the mochi. It's a nice touch to the drink and adds a unique texture to the drink. Interestingly, I was told that they didn't add any sugar to the milk tea. I found this surprising, but it was a pleasant surprise as it made the drink less sweet and more refreshing. Overall, Ume Tea is a great milk tea place to check out if you're in the Milpitas area. The food and drinks are delicious, with the takoyaki and curly fries being definite highlights. The lady who took my order was extremely rude. Even my friends who didn't speak mandarin noticed the unfriendly tone. As I started telling her what my order was, I typed in my phone number on the iPad on the counter so that I can collect rewards. Btw the iPad even asked for your phone number. Yet the lady interrupted me and almost yelling at me said "DON'T TOUCH THAT! DON'T TOUCH THINGS AS YOU WILL". Later on I found out that it could have been the last persons order they hadn't collected points on. But the attitude on her face and tone she spoke with are just so rude. The store owner should do better screening on their employees attitude towards customers. read more

I was excited to try out this milk tea place, especially with the convenience of ordering through a QR code. However, my excitement quickly turned into frustration when it took a whopping over 30 minutes to receive my drinks. I asked a few times for the status of the order as the app noted the drinks should be ready in 15 minutes. Kept on getting, it's almost ready. Despite the supposed time-saving advantage of the QR code, it seemed to have little effect on expediting the process. The drinks themselves were decent, but the lengthy wait time overshadowed any enjoyment. Not worth it. read more
