Elated to see them open up another Ume Tea! This is still actually pretty close to the other Milpitas location, but it helps to distribute the crowd so the wait is not that long at both locations. It does get pretty busy around dinner time, though, so prepare for a wait. However, it is not that much of a bother in comparison to the fluffy mochi topping they offer and high quality tea. read more

I have always liked their drinks, and even have been a regular customer. However on my recent visit I was rather disappointed. I waited 8 minutes to order my drink with a cashier, since I was using a gift card. This would've been fine if there were multiple people in line. However there was no one else ordering with a cashier. Which would've been okay if the staff were simply busy. However there was one staff that was just one their phone. I as,ed for help multiple times but was ignore. And then a lady who didn't wait at all was taken first and I had to wait longer. I would've normally ignored this, but I ordered a sticky rice yogurt out burst drink, I always take time to confirm what I order so I asked the staff multiple times they confirmed it with me. I asked for a receipt but they ignored me, so I was confused at which order was mine. And when my drink came out it was the new guava drink, not the drink I ordered despite me having asked the staff who took my order if it was what I ordered. On top of this I asked the same guy who took my order if it was ready yet and he said he'd give it when it was finished. But lo and behold 6 minutes later it was set aside and melting. I am thoroughly disappointed, I normally always have a good and normal experience. But this visit has made me decide not to come back. read more

I always see it on social media, but they finally expand to places I can visit. I order it on the touch screen tablet. I went to Great Mall twice with two different groups of friends to try the surprise cup experience. I ordered passion and watermelon fruit tea for the first time. There was too much pulp, which was surprisingly super bitter, even though I ordered 100% sugar. I had a great time with my surprise cup because I got a pink penguin. It is so soft and such a high-quality plush keychain. The second time, I went with something safe: the peach slush without cheese foam and lychee jelly. I saw that they have many locations in the Bay area. I want to go to each location in 2024, take pictures, and get a surprise cup. read more

Solid tea place with fast service. I had the signature boba black milk tea (70% sweet light ice). The boba was soft and chewy. Not what I was expecting for this boba place... I had gotten the watermelon lychee fruit tea and it had taken quite a while for me to receive it.Another complaint is that the lychee was not lychee is was hard and not what I remember lychee tasting like ,I felt like it was just the skin and it was just so disgusting.I had also asked for light ice and extra boba and I had gotten mostly ice and barely any boba when i first saw it i noticed it was just lychee ,before trying it I didn't mind that there was a lot of lychee but when I had taken a sip I was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND DISAPPOINTED IN THIS BOBA PLACE.At the way they didn't listen to any of the things I had put I wanted like light ice and extra boba absolutely a waste of money. read more

Located inside Great Mall, the shop has a clean, bright, and welcoming interior, making it a great spot to grab a quick drink and snack. The menu was easy to navigate, and ordering was quick and straightforward. We ordered the Black Fresh Milk Tea with boba and taro, along with the Brown Sugar Oolong Boba Milk Tea. Unfortunately, they had temporarily run out of boba, so we had to wait about 20 minutes for our drinks. Despite the wait, the drinks were well worth it. The Black Fresh Milk Tea was smooth and refreshing, and the boba had the perfect chewy texture. What really stood out to me was the taro. This was my first time having actual taro chunks in a milk tea, and I absolutely loved it! The chunks added a unique texture and a rich taro flavor that made the drink feel more satisfying and filling. The Brown Sugar Oolong Boba Milk Tea was also delicious, with a great balance of sweetness and tea flavor. The brown sugar complemented the oolong perfectly without being too overpowering. Another thoughtful touch was the cute carrying bags they provided for the drinks. Not only were they adorable, but they also made the drinks easier to carry and helped keep them cool. Small details like this really add to the overall customer experience. Overall, we had a great first visit to Ume Tea. Between the tasty drinks, unique options, convenient ordering process, and fun atmosphere, it's easy to see why so many people enjoy coming here. If you're craving quality boba, creative drink options, and satisfying snacks, Ume Tea is definitely worth checking out. We'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu! read more

First Time Visit - Great Find in Great Mall! We stumbled upon this adorable boba spot in Great Mall while craving something refreshing. The atmosphere was on point - cute boba place vibes and a grab-and-go kind of setup. What caught my attention was their separate kids menu with caffeine-free options - a big plus! The service was okay, taking about 10-15 minutes, which was reasonable considering the crowd. We ordered: - Brown Sugar Boba Oolong Milk Tea (75% sugar, less ice): Unfortunately, the oolong milk taste didn't quite meet my expectations. If you're new to oolong milk, be aware it's distinct from regular milk. However, the quality and brown sugar boba were amazing! - Ume Boba Milk Tea (light ice, bunny surprise cup, 70% sugar): I opted for this size for the surprise toy, which my toddler loved! The milk tea itself was okay, but not the best I've had. - Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk (light ice, whole milk, half sugar, medium size): Ordered from the kids menu for my 4-year-old, and she devoured it! Her absolute favorite! Overall, a great first experience, and we'll be back to try more! Recommended for families with kids! read more

During a recent visit to the mall with friends, I decided to satisfy my craving for a refreshing drink and opted for ume tea. Let me share my experience! Beverages: 5/5 I ordered the Thai tea with creme brulee topping, while my friend chose the strawberry slush without the cheese topping. The Thai tea with creme brulee was exceptional, catering perfectly to my sweet tooth. The addition of creme brulee complemented the drink remarkably, enhancing its overall flavor. I would highly recommend trying creme brulee as a topping with any beverage. Service: 5/5 The service at the milk tea store exceeded my expectations. The staff were exceptionally courteous and always ready to assist with any queries. Additionally, their efficiency stood out--they promptly fulfilled orders without compromising on quality. I was having a boba tea craving while walking through The Great Mall when I stumbled upon Ume Tea. I noticed they had a special on the Oolong Brown Sugar Milk Tea--large for just $3.99! I'm usually a plain Jane who sticks to classic milk tea, so I asked the cashier about the difference. They were super patient and took the time to explain, which I really appreciated. I decided to go with the special, ordered it with light ice and 70% cane sweetener, and it was the perfect choice! The flavor was rich and smooth, and the price made it even better. Definitely a great spot to satisfy a boba craving without breaking the bank. I'll be back for sure! read more

I was eager to check out this spot while visiting the Great Mall. They offer a variety of teas and snacks, albeit at slightly higher prices. I opted for the red bean mochi tea with boba, priced at $6.90 for a small cup. Unfortunately, there was only one kiosk open for ordering, resulting in a wait of over 15 minutes due to the long line. You can also use one of the two available kiosks for self service orders. It's quite easy to spot inside the plaza on Berryessa & Capitol. The interior is modern, clean, and spacious. There's more than enough tables and chairs inside & outside to relax as needed. The high ceilings and airy ventilation at this location is pretty darn good, especially if you do visit on a warm or hot day. Good vibes. Beverage stops aren't cheap these days. 16oz. or 20oz. cups are good enough sizes for me. I had the mango milk tea $7.05 and pandan milk tea $7.80, both at regular ice and 50% sweetness. Both tasted as good as it looks here. I'm tempted to trying a lychee or wintermelon beverages in future. Convenient, good tasting, and refreshing. Fruit teas/slushies/coffee/matcha drinks/smoothies/milk teas/etc. I rarely buy beverages over $8 these days. Overall, legit and decent stop. Over the counter service is good. All positive here. It's worth revisiting.

There is typically only one employee handling both the orders and drink preparation, which understandably contributes to the longer wait times. During peak hours, the line can stretch out the door, so I'd recommend allowing a little extra time if you're stopping by. The space itself remains fairly small, with just a handful of tables indoors and a few additional tables outside. It can get quite crowded inside when there's a rush, making it more of a grab-and-go experience during busy periods. That said, despite the wait, I still think their drinks are worth it. Their milk tea is consistently delicious and, in my opinion, makes this one of the better spots for milk tea. I'll happily wait for a good drink!

I was hoping to get the smoothie version, not knowing there were two. I guess that's my mistake, but when I kindly asked for clarification as to why it wasn't blended, she said that I ordered the wrong one and that it couldn't be remade. That's stupid, but whatever. The drink itself was sad. It was like a watered-down drink with Oreo sprinkles on it. I didn't taste the tea flavor. This was so sad, below the low expectations that I already had. I was left unsatisfied, disappointed, and frustrated with the service and the quality of the drink.

Perhaps 50% sweetness at Tea Top is closer to 25% at other places like Gong Cha, Feng Cha, CHICHA San Chen, or Molly Tea, because my drink tasted surprisingly diluted. It wasn't just lacking sweetness--the tea flavor itself didn't come through very strongly either, which left the overall drink tasting a bit watered down. The boba was also fairly bland and didn't add much flavor to the drink. Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly excited to finish this one, so my first experience was a bit of a miss. That said, I've seen plenty of positive reviews and they have a pretty extensive menu, so I'm willing to give them another shot. Next time I'm in the area, I'll probably try one of their top drinks and go for higher sweetness percentage to see if I have better luck!

Self order at kiosk is available. Great place to sit/relax/chill/group friendly indoor and outdoor. I like the huge windows bringing in natural lights from the west side sunlight. Nice. Yes, public restroom is available for use. This is a 5/5 for the beverages we drank so far. No wonder they usually get long lines and busy foot traffic on weekdays. But you know what, it's fine, I'm donating to a local-ish business. How was my drink? It was milky and tea-y and delicious. So I guess I'll just enjoy my $8 drink. And who doesn't love a drink that's winking at you? S E R V I C E I ordered from a tablet/kiosk and paid by card easily.
