Oh my GOSH, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Omaha area!!! Way better pricing than Blue and Hiro! The lunch special was 2 rolls for 11.50 OR 3 rolls for 14.50! The server was so kind and quick to get our drinks, tea and food order in! It's a very laid back spot, very quiet over the lunch hour during the week. The Philly roll was PHENOMENAL and the Crunchy was just as good, super fresh veggies and great cuts of fish used!

Solid Japanese, Chinese, pan Asian , and sushi joint. Some of the sushi is very traditional, which is like hugging your grandma. The Chinese food is also traditional like Sesame Chicken. I got a salmon rice bowl that came with soup and salad. The soup choices are great! Egg drop, hot and sour, wonton and miso. I got the hot and sour which I like. . Lots of free parking!

Service was fast and very friendly. Kung pao was a bit too sweet for me and not spicy enough. Shisito peppers were amazing. Crab rag. Was good and husband devoured his roll.

This place is bussin! I'm a huge fan of their lunch bento box special. It's very economical and comes with a few sides and a main protein, very filling. I'm always treated well when I come in, and as a regular they even remember my name! I mostly grab takeout but I like the indoor vibes, the music isn't loud and there's booths and tables to dine in.

The food here is always amazing and some of the best sushi in the Omaha area! The servers are always super friendly and attentive. This spot almost feels like in a hole in the wall, but feels warm and cozy.

I tried this place for the first time after hearing a lot about it! It is a quick drive from Omaha and although it was busy, we got seated immediately. They have plenty of seating and very attentive service. They have quite an extensive menu featuring many different Asian cuisines. I tried the salmon flight which was great value as it comes with soup and salad of your choice along with soy salmon, smoked salmon, first salmon and spicy salmon roll. I enjoyed the spicy salmon roll with crunch tempura topping! The sashimi was pretty fresh and buttery. I would have liked a little more flavor variation between the sashimi but overall left feeling very full and satisfied!

This is the second time in 10 days we came back to the same sushi restaurant. Food are excellent. Service is good . Sushi & sashimi for two is $62 for a good deal ( you get 10 pc sushi , 10 pc sashimi, plus a crunchy roll , dynamite roll and manhattan roll ) . I ordered a blue drink cocktail for $10 . There was a line when we arrived at 6:50 pm but we got to sit down after 10 minute wait . My only complaint is that the wooden floor is slippery ( waxed ? ) plus some water on here here and there ( ice cubes that were dropped on the floor ) . It is a hazard to walk around if you have a disability or elderly.

11/10. If I could eat here every night I would. Service is always quick and friendly. And I love that it's very cozy. As someone who was born and raised on an island, I was pleasantly surprised at how great the quality of sashimi is here. The salmon flight is 100% the way to go. It melts in your mouth like butter. Of all the Japanese sushi places in Omaha, this one is my favorite!

I really enjoy Umami. I've been in a handful of times and have never had a bad experience. I don't think their sushi is the best in the Omaha metro area, but it is good. I came during lunch on my most recent visit and got a Bento Box. This is definitely what I'll be getting going forward! The salmon was delicious and I really enjoyed the soup, salad, and gyoza too. The California Roll was underwhelming and I completely avoided the already browning "fresh" fruit, but otherwise it was great!

Best sushi in Omaha!! I ordered the salmon flight which came with a spicy salmon roll and various types of sashimi, as well as side soup and house salad. The salmon tasted very fresh and flavorful. Definitely will be our regular spot!

Sushi was excellent and the fish was very fresh. Tried the clear broth and egg drop soups which were delicious. The chicken curry udon broth was very flavorful and the udon was perfect. One of the best restaurants for great food in the area.

Took my parent's to Umami for Father's Day and had great sushi! My dad said that when he moved to NE he gave up good dumplings and sushi. After having Umami, he said OK so now it just dumplings. Umami has my picky foodie dad's stamp of approval!

Always a solid place, consistent, best sushi in Bellevue! Always busy for a reason, Take out or eating inside, but we have never had to wait, they are turning tables over quickly. Their rolls and food always come out quick, hot, and correct! Prices can not be beat. Can't say anything bad about this place! Their chef has won multiple awards and all their newspaper articles are hanging up in the front, it's fun to check them out.

(although I think the fish is cured to retain freshness) We ordered a couple rolls, but mostly stuck to the nigiri. The Hama toast, prairie tuna, and yaki gindara were all ono. The yaki gindara tasted like butterfish sushi, but with sablefish rather than black cod. Also, the rice used for the sushi tasted similar to the rice used in sushi in Hawaii. We also tried some of the yakitori - grilled meat on sticks. I strongly recommend the tako yakitori. I'm not really into tako poke (Hawaii dish), but this tako with that miso panca sauce is super ono. Full of flavor with a touch of spicy. I could eat that all the time. The five-spice old fashioned they have is also delicious. Service was excellent for us. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself has a/c and gives an izakaya vibe familiar in Hawaii. Also, I saw people come in with t-shirt and shorts for dinner. So I guess there isn't really a dress code here. As others have mentioned, Koji is a sister restaurant to Yoshitomo, and the menus of both restaurants do overlap to a degree. However, Koji has MUCH better parking than Yoshitomo. Trying to find parking for Yoshitomo or Ota can be a pain since it's all street parking. Koji is in a strip mall with its own parking lot (free parking too). I will definitely return here whenever I'm in Omaha.

The tabletop grilling makes dinner feel like an…read moreexperience rather than just a meal, and it's the kind of place that's fun for a date night or dinner with friends. We ordered the Koen Sapporo and Koen Kirin sets, then added the Crown Ribeye to share. Both meals came with miso soup, salad, rice, and a variety of meats, so it was a great way to sample a little bit of everything but not go for the full premium set. The miso soup was a great way to start the meal. It was warm, comforting, though it cooled down pretty quickly, so I'd recommend finishing it before you get distracted by the grill. The house salad came with a carrot ginger dressing that I really enjoyed. It was fresh and flavorful, but surprisingly sweet. I loved the taste, though by the end of the small bowl it became a little sweet for me. One fun surprise was the beef gyoza. I'm much more accustomed to chicken gyoza, so it was nice to try something different. As for the grill, the Toro Beef was the standout. We piled it over our rice and ended up with a delicious little donburi bowl that was easily my favorite bite of the night. The Top Sirloin, Chicken Bulgogi, and Yaki-Shabu Beef were all enjoyable as well. The only downside was that the Spicy Pork Belly and the Crown Ribeye were a bit difficult to eat without knives. We managed, but those thicker cuts would have been much easier to enjoy if we could have cut them into smaller bites. We did have meat scissors but it was a little uncomfortable sharing. I also ordered the salmon nigiri, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd put it right up there with Blue Sushi in terms of quality. The slices of salmon were incredibly generous, actually larger than the rice, which wasn't quite my preferred balance, but I'd much rather have too much fish than too little. Since I was the only one ordering sushi, our table didn't have chopsticks or soy sauce dishes, though we also never thought to ask for them either. To drink, I had the red sangria, and it was packed with fresh fruit, which I absolutely loved. I ended up ordering a second because it was so refreshing. They're definitely more of a flavorful, easy-drinking sangria than a particularly strong cocktail, but that's exactly what I was in the mood for. Our server did an excellent job. They explained how everything worked, checked on us frequently without hovering, and made the experience feel approachable for first-time diners. Overall, Koen is somewhere I'd happily return. The grill is half the fun, the Toro Beef alone is worth ordering again, and the service made the experience even better. If it's your first visit, my biggest tips are to enjoy your soup before it cools, don't skip the Toro Beef over rice, and if you're ordering thicker cuts like the ribeye, don't be shy about asking for a knife.

I'd prefer if it was just plain. But I do think it said on the menu they would be marinated. The kimchi is way spicier than any other kimchi I've had. Most of the banchan was spicier than I'm used to. The chocolate-martini drink was so yummy. It just tasted like chocolate milk. You have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the entrance to the restaurant, and it's right above a dispensary, so it smelled a bit like weed at the entrance. Our server was great. The seating host did give us a classic gen-z stare and he didn't move his arms when he walked. Just a fun fact. It didn't affect our meal or experience. If anything it gave us something to giggle about. Overall an ok experience. Minus the cigarette taste, but I think that's just a me problem. Edit: nvm, not just me. My husband said after thinking about it for a few days the taste of the cigarette eggs still lingers in his mouth and he hated it too.
