If you're looking for an all‑you‑can‑eat experience that's fresh, flavorful, and genuinely worth the price, this is the place. They do charge a bit more than your typical AYCE sushi spot, but the quality absolutely justifies it. The rolls are beautifully balanced -- fish, avocado, rice, everything in harmony -- and I was impressed that hardly any of them relied on imitation crab as filler, which is something I see far too often elsewhere. The sashimi and nigiri selection is excellent as well, and personally, I gravitated toward the sashimi to avoid the carb overload that comes with nigiri. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was no wait. The restaurant is spacious, and our server was incredibly attentive. She walked us through the process and the rules, making the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The rolls themselves were fantastic -- thoughtfully crafted and delicious. I especially enjoyed the Naruto roll, wrapped in cucumber instead of rice, which was a refreshing change. Good sushi for the price. We came here shortly after they opened and thought their AYCE sushi was a good deal with fresh tasting fish and selections. Great service and clean restaurant as well. We came back for another visit maybe a 6ish months later, they removed some items off of the menu and we didn't love our experience as much as the first time. Not sure if it was the time of the week... service was still great but we felt the selection was less. All in all it was still a good dining experience but we have yet find ourselves back for another try. The restaurant is nice and cozy with lots of room for space. We ate here for a late lunch/early dinner with fair prices for the AYCE option being about $39 per person. We ordered a lot of salmon nigiri which was delicious, but be warned there is a good amount of rice to it so order less since it'll fill you up or start with sashimi if you're more into the fish. We tried the salmon roll, lobster roll, surf and turf along with many others not pictures. The fried rolls were good but pretty big in size. The cucumber salad was very refreshing with a fresh ginger dressing they use and make in house. Our server was very nice and attentive. This became one of our favorite spots for AYCE sushi in the Denver area and have been going back ever since. We truly enjoy the atmosphere, food and the service here. read more

Who doesn't like all you can eat sushi! Make sure you got the room. The sashimi is fresh and the sushi plentiful. If only the portion control can be more consistent. I mean you've got the stir fry/Bento kind of dishes with an entire bowl worth of rice, that's overkill. And the ramen, make sure to share or you'd be stuffed having just that, because it's a full size ramen. Just try everything and be mindful of wastes. All of the cooked, stir fry/Bento kind of dishes share the same sauce. Dessert wise I thought the creme brulee was the best. So make sure you leave room for sweets! read more

Can't say no to AYCE sushi! I went here with a friend around 2/3 PM, so we managed to get the lunch deal which was an insane deal, honestly. (Photo of receipt added). We ate a total of 104(?) pieces of sushi together and the total was only about $50. The space here is large and I like the ambient lighting that they have. The only two things I had a problem with was the service and the quality of sushi. Service was attentive at first, but at some point it got difficult to get their attention. It almost felt like they were ignoring us? Which I hope wasn't the case, but what it felt like. The quality of fish was fine, but nothing amazing. This spot gets the job done for sushi cravings. But if you're looking for anything high quality and. extraordinary, this may not be the place. Regardless, I definitely plan on coming back with my friend, we enjoyed it! read more

And ultimately we're glad they're here! Dinner is pricier than lunch, the lunch deal is honestly insane and I'm sure that price will go up in a matter of time. Here are the deets: AYCE Adult Dinner: $35.99 (evening, weekend, holiday, 3:00pm-close) AYCE Adult Lunch: $23.99 (M-F, 11:00-3:00pm) Leftovers: $1 per piece of sushi Beverages: $3.59 unlimited, does not include alcohol Dessert: free dessert included for AYCE guests The restaurant is large and our server was very attentive. Some of the items, especially towards the latter half of our meal, took awhile to arrive. And when you're at an AYCE restaurant, time is of the essence! I ordered a few specialty rolls, nigiri, seaweed salad, a yellowtail appetizer, and a Sapporo to wash it all down. Everything was good, nothing blew me out of the water personally. The rolls weren't tight and a few of them fell apart. Flavors were good and hit the spot. Again, if you're expecting the freshest artisan sushi of your life that's on you. You come here for quantity. The best bites for me were the Yellowtail on Fire appetizer and the Seaweed Salad. I'd like to see the quality and execution of the fish itself improved, as well as maybe another chef on the line to improve those ticket times. Wow! We came here to celebrate my son's birthday. He wanted to go to our regular sushi place and we decided to take a gamble here. My friend and I went the other day. No long wait for seating. The price for the ayce was very reasonable especially given how much you can order! The hand rolls are huge, but if you want to get the most out of it, I'd say keep to the starters, sushi, and sashimi. Jason P. was such a great server. Funny, informative, and attentive. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow! The absolute best AYCE spot in town. The last couple AYCE spots we've been to in Denver and surrounding areas have been ok, but nothing to write home about/to write a review about. Until now *cue trumpets*. I'm always a little skeptical of sushi/seafood in a landlocked state (IYKYK), but Umai Ya was awesome. Every sushi roll we got was on point and there were so many different types of rolls. We really liked the Alaska roll and the lobster roll. I know they are slightly basic, but they were done really well. It was also great that the AYCE option included noodle dishes, appetizers, hibachi, dessert, and more. The chicken hibachi was tasty and even came with the all important yum yum sauce. The desserts were so good, that I had two, and still couldn't tell you if the creme brûlée or tempura ice cream is better. We really appreciated that we could make a reservation and that our party of 7 was quickly sat. There are lots of tables and options for seating, plus this spot doesn't feel super rushed, which we were grateful for (gotta get my $35 worth). It was also nice that some of our friends could order a la carte because they weren't us hungry as the rest of us hippos. The service was slow, but being a new restaurant seems they just have a few things to figure out. Umaiya is a very welcome restaurant addition to Arvada. There are not many sushi options here and especially not many AYCE ones so when I heard that an AYCE sushi restaurant was opening so close to where I am, I had to check it out! The menu has a decently large selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls, hand rolls, appetizers, ramen, BBQ, and, surprisingly, dessert which is normally not included in many AYCE sushi spots. The food itself is align with what is expected at AYCE but definitely not bad. The rice to fish ratio is much better than other places. Service was great. Our server made sure that we never had to wait all too long for anything. Management can do something to make their processes more effective/efficient but that's not at the fault of the servers. One thing I would like to point out is that the interior is impeccable. I know the place is new but they did a great job with the lighting, furniture, and everything else. It is definitely the nicest looking AYCE place I've been to. I can't wait to go back and stuff myself with way more sushi than I should! read more

Wow! What a great all you can eat place! We went for my cousins birthday celebration and we had a group of 20. And they were able to accommodate us so easily! (We made reservations in advance as well!) I loved the variety of non-sushi items with all the sushi items. We had a 1.5 year old with us as well. And he was able to try so many items besides the raw stuff. In our group, we also had a bunch of people who do not eat raw fish. And they left stuffed too! So much variety! And everything tasted fresh. Some of my favorite items: pepper tuna, snowy white roll and the salmon avocado hand roll. Everything was delicious. And honestly, I think this may be my new favorite ACYE place. And it's so close to me. So I call this a win! I can't wait to be back. I am already thinking about my favorites. The decor is sleek and modern, with cool lighting fixtures that create a stylish and inviting ambiance. It's definitely a nice spot to enjoy a meal. The menu offers a huge selection of all-you-can-eat sushi, appetizers, and other Japanese dishes. Most of the food rates a solid high 3 to low 4 out of 5. The tempura appetizers were especially good--crispy and flavorful. Some of our favorite rolls were the Tiger Eye Roll, Lobster Roll, and Dragon Roll. The tuna sashimi was excellent, but the hamachi, mango salmon, and red snapper were just okay. One of the biggest downsides was the ordering system. Instead of the usual paper-and-pencil check sheet, a waiter takes orders manually, which can be inconvenient, especially for groups of four or more. It felt a bit inefficient, and personally, I would have preferred the traditional ordering method. Additionally, while the service wasn't bad, we had to ask multiple times for ginger and wasabi since it didn't come automatically with every roll. At $35 for all-you-can-eat sushi, it's a solid option and a good addition to the area. If they streamlined the ordering process, it would make for a much smoother experience. read more

I rarely leave bad reviews, but the service at this all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant was honestly the worst I've experienced in a long time. Our waitress (Breana) took forever to do anything. We constantly had empty drinks and had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for refills. Every time we were ready to place another sushi order, she disappeared for what felt like ages before finally coming back to the table. On top of the slow service, she had a noticeable attitude the entire time. She seemed uninterested, unmotivated, and acted like she didn't want to be there. We felt like we were inconveniencing her just by asking for basic things like refills or placing another round of food. The food itself was decent, but the service completely ruined the experience. When you're paying for all-you-can-eat sushi, you expect timely service so you can actually enjoy the meal. Instead, we spent most of our time waiting around for our waitress to come back. Umai Ya is certainly a great deal and value for all-you-can-eat sushi at $35.99 each for dinner and the location is great being right in the heart of Arvada not far from Olde-Town. I've visited 3 times over the last couple of months, with each experience varying some. The first two times I felt the quality of the food and service were great, with some extra time needed on certain items. However, visiting for the third time last weekend, I found that the specialty rolls were not coming out as fresh as I would hope, tasting almost premade. Certain items also took long on par with the first two times, while the customer service from our server continued to be great. I've found certain starters and sashimi to be my favorites and go-to items, specifically the pepper tuna, yellowtail on fire, white tuna sashimi, and tuna sashimi. My first couple of visits, I really enjoyed the shaggy dog special roll. I will certainly be back and would love to see better timing on items and taking freshness into more consideration, specifically on the special rolls. read more

What a great find! If you're a fan of Chubby Fish, you'll love this place--even more, in my opinion! The biggest highlight is the sashimi selection--you can have as much as you want, and the variety is fantastic. My favorites were the spicy yellowtail and peppered tuna. On top of that, the dessert options are a step up, with delicious Crème Brûlée and cheesecake to round out the meal. Our server, Mary, was excellent and took great care of us. The ambiance is spacious and inviting, making it a solid spot for a date night. My wife was really impressed and is already looking forward to our next visit! This is such a cute sushi spot, there's so much seating. It's a great place for date night or group celebration. The food was delicious and the portion size are shareable. They charge $1.00 for any leftover pieces and there is a 90 min limit. We went on a Saturday at 5PM before the dinner rush came in. Once the dinner rush came in, we end up staying for 3 hours. The service is slow. They are still learning their flow. I think there could be a better system to ordering. They kept forgetting to bring out items. They started off great and we were going about once a week. The options for rolls and other cooked options were quality and diverse however, the last few times We began to notice the fish options become limiting a long with the variations in the rolls. The quality also dropped. Then the sauces on the cooked items seemed bottled or caned. No longer fresh made. The quality also started to slip on all menu options except for the crème brûlée for dessert. We never have a problem waiting 30 to 40 minutes to get in because we knew how great it was, but now you can walk right in at almost any time and be sat within minutes, or at least that's been our experience the last few times we went in. Huge disappointment to see a great place with great staff except for the owner. We asked who the unfriendly man was who we would see there often eating at the bar or just sitting at the cash register and the last time running food in a very grumpy unfriendly way. We were told he was the owner. You think he'd be a lot nicer to his customers. It's sad to see this place tank so soon after opening. It was so bad last time. (July 2015) that the the sushi was very fishy not fresh and flavorful. It was a great option because it was closer than driving into Denver. Now it's not even going to curb a sushi craving. If you want to stay local when the craving hits. We did find a really great place up the street called sushi Neko that had all you can eat....they had an extensive fish menu and a lot of diversity in their roles and other hot item options. read more

Took my family of five to Umai Ya today, and at first, we were blown away--the food was absolutely amazing! We especially loved the sashimi options; everything was fresh, delicious, and exactly what we were craving. But then--complete and utter disappointment. The owner came by and, instead of ensuring we had a great experience, scolded us for ordering "too much" sashimi. And then came the shocker--he literally said, "Because kids don't count." Excuse me?! My kids don't count as what? As human beings? As paying customers? So my children aren't allowed to eat sashimi now? And let's talk about the pricing--because it's not cheap! My 7-year-old paid $20.99, and my 4-year-old paid $16.99 . If we're paying full price for them, why on earth wouldn't they get to eat what they want? Current favorite non-super-high-end sushi place in greater Denver by leaps and bounds. Prefer it over any pay-per-piece place I know. Fantastic sashimi quality, not forced to get unnecessarily stuffed on cheap rice. Succulant, large, flavorful pieces. I don't get excited about rolls, so can't speak to their selection on those, but everything I've had in sashimi, nigiri and other majority-protein non-sushi items have been above criticism. Well... we went opening weekend and we got a huge menu with no limits $33. The following week the menu changed with less options $36 (dinner price). Certain sashimi was now sushi only, limited on ordering, no more bento boxes, less dessert, and a quite a bit of other items. That was a huge disappointment. Service was better in the beginning but obviously as they get busier everything takes longer. The food is really good. Everything is full size vs other ayce places serve tiny portions. But for the price and options it's worth it. Lunch menu has no sashimi but still a lot of options for $23. Decor is very nice since it is still new. Bummed so many changes in a week. read more

We went to this restaurant and there were 4 of us. Two wanted from regular menu and 2 wanted from all you can eat. We were willing to order 2 separate checks. We were refused to order 2 different ways. Either we ALL had to eat all you can eat or we ALL had to order ala carte. If we didnt do that, we had to seat at separate tables on Father's Day! They would not budge and we used to love this place. Then we ordered one, only one item not to be fried and they refused that as well. We will not be returning to this restaurant as they could have cared less about customer service. Very sad since the food is great but as patrons, we also expect great or at least good and considerate customer service. Very disappointed. Not to mention there were plenty of tables available as the place was not full but they insisted we sit at a booth with 4 adults and small tables. All we wanted and expected was good and considerate customer service which we never received. Honestly, why couldnt they have done 2 separate bills and let us still sit together. Absolutely made no sense!! Maybe they should reconsider how they treat their patrons on such a small request that we made. The sushi was subpar, most roles taste the same or have similar flavor profiles. The skewers used to be tender and flavorful and have become chewy and tough. The crème brûlée was amazing the first time we went - and then they started making them ahead and they were gummy and gross. The waitress verified they changed the process.
