Nuzhat has been doing my hair at Ulta for the last year, and she is amazing. First she listens to me and what I desire but she also advises me on how to achieve it. When I came to her, I had significant amount of hair dye already in my hair (think close to orange) and told her I wanted to be blonde. She said she said it's possible but to do it right it will take two sittings and explained exactly why. And no kidding she fixed it. She has knowledge and wisdom that only comes from stylists who have been doing hair for a long time and still willing to learn more. I went to go get a silk press at 6:15 PM in the middle of getting my hair done, Another customer needed to get her hair done too, so it looks like the stylist was just taking so long that her next appointment showed up and so she had two heads to finish and couldn't get that done. At 9:10 PM they told us that the store is closing so we have to pay even though my hair wasn't finished. I still had to pay. I got a trim and wasn't informed that the trim was $55 and that was added to my total payment, which I was very upset about because no one disclosed this to me. It was put under a haircut and I didn't get a haircut. I got a simple dust off, a trim. There was no discount because of how long me and this other customer had to wait nor was there really an apology, and towards the end after I paid for my hair without it being finished, the stylist was starting to get rough and had an attitude, even though I'm the one who has had my time wasted this was a horrible first experience for this Ulta salon, and they should do a better job of scheduling customers. The least the could have done was added a discount because we had to share a stylist and were there past closing. Just ridiculous. Worst first experience. Very disappointing and disorganized experience at this Ulta salon. The appointment included a root touch-up, haircut, and eyebrow lamination, tint, and shaping. The hairstylist was very kind and professional, but unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating. While the hair color was processing, I repeatedly asked about the scheduled eyebrow appointment. One stylist started preparing for the eyebrow service, but the receptionist stopped her and said another employee would do it. Then we waited another 15 minutes with no one coming. Eventually, the hairstylist became concerned about how long the color had been sitting and immediately washed it out. After the appointment, there was significant scalp itching and irritation. The eyebrow service was also disappointing. I specifically asked for a soft, natural lamination because the eyebrows looked very dark, boxy, and bulky. I was reassured they would soften once dry, but the final result still looked bulky and didn't even look properly laminated. The billing was another issue. The $99 eyebrow package included lamination, tint, and shaping, but an additional $29 waxing charge was initially added. I questioned it and showed them the service description, yet I was still told it was separate. Another salon employee later confirmed that the additional charge should not have been added, and it was finally corrected. I also tried to bring a simple online-booking issue to the manager's attention. Instead of listening to the concern, I felt immediately dismissed and was told it wasn't an issue because nobody else had complained about it. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. For an appointment costing around $300, I expected much better communication, organization, accurate billing, and customer service. Ulta is my go to for skincare and makeup, but this location makes me very uncomfortable. Every time I visit, I feel like I'm being followed or watched. My sister and I were here a couple weeks ago, and almost every 5 minutes someone approached us or hovered nearby. Eventually my sister had to tell one of the employees, 'We'll let you know if we need help.' We were simply looking for foundation, but the longer we stayed, the more obvious it felt that we were being monitored. Because of past experiences here, I don't even bring a bag or wear anything that might make employees assume I'm stealing. To be fair, the store is clean, and the cashiers are always polite. My only issue is the constant feeling of being watched, which makes it hard to shop comfortably. I always end up rushing my visit because of it. read more

Extremely disappointed with the management and customer service at the Woodbridge (Stonebridge) location. I specifically selected and purchased items based on multiple promotional signs displayed around the store advertising a free gift with purchase. However, when I got to the register, the cashier simply told me there was no gift available. While I understand that complimentary gifts are subject to availability, keeping promotional signage up when you cannot fulfill the offer is completely misleading. It is poor store management and a terrible representation of the Ulta brand. To make matters worse, the staff at this location simply shrugged their shoulders and offered zero explanation or apology for the misleading signs left on the floor. I actually called a different Ulta store to see if this was standard policy, and that location was incredibly helpful, offering to notify me when their next shipment arrived. The Woodbridge location, on the other hand, showed zero accountability or effort. I want to address extremely unprofessional behavior I've repeatedly witnessed at the Ulta Beauty location in Woodbridge. During multiple visits, I have seen a manager speak to cashiers in a way that is disrespectful, degrading, and completely inappropriate for a workplace. Most recently, I witnessed a manager yelling at an employee at the register, loudly saying, "Are you kidding me?!! What is wrong with you?!!" in front of customers. This was not a private conversation--it was public, aggressive, and uncomfortable to witness. This behavior is unacceptable. No employee should be spoken to like that, especially in front of customers. It creates a hostile environment for the team and a negative experience for shoppers. As a customer, it made me seriously reconsider even completing my purchase. This level of unprofessionalism does not reflect the standard I expect from this store or from Ulta as a company. Management should be setting the tone for professionalism and respect, not contributing to a toxic environment. I came in for a simple $45 blowout and left with a $130 charge. Susie, the stylist, decided to cut my hair because she said it was "needed" even though I told her no. She never mentioned it would be an extra charge. On top of that, she cut my hair after straightening it, which makes no sense since I have naturally curly hair. Now that I've washed it, one side is noticeably shorter than the other. I really regret not waiting to book with Alycia. The two times I've seen her, she did an amazing job, super professional, transparent, and my curls always looked great afterward. Unfortunately, my experience with Susie was the complete opposite. I appreciate being yelled at by a man who looked Hispanic with a chopped beard light fair skin with dark hair. He could've come up to me in nicer tone and manner along with showing me how to use testers but instead he focused on the white girls in the charlotte tilbury section. September 15, 2024 If I could give this sorry excuse for a business negative stars, I would. This place is a disgrace to the word "salon" and should be shut down immediately for the sheer level of incompetence, dishonesty, and disrespect I experienced. They should fire the entire staff, starting with Cathy, who is the most useless, lazy, and unprofessional employee I've ever encountered. I booked a steam therapy treatment with a scalp renew for my brother for $35, according to their own damn website, which clearly stated the scalp treatment was included. But no, they tacked on an extra $24 because apparently they don't know how to honor their own advertised prices. Absolutely shameless! And as for me? I booked a simple $24 scalp renew, but somehow, they decided to slap me with an extra $24 charge for a deep conditioning treatment that NEVER HAPPENED. I didn't even ask for it! Cathy at the front desk suggested some other service, but when I told my stylist I changed my mind, that info never made it back to Cathy because she's clearly incapable of doing her job. The stylist, Nuzhat, was actually decent and walked me through every product she used--literally just Redken shampoo, Nioxin scalp treatment, and Redken conditioner. That's it. Not a drop of "deep conditioner" in sight, but I still got charged for it. And Cathy? She's too clueless to even realize I was sitting under the heat with a shower cap because I had the Nioxin treatment, NOT the deep conditioner. How is someone this incompetent allowed to work there? Now here's where it gets even better: I specifically requested Cathy and Fazia as our stylists. But, surprise surprise, Cathy didn't want to do her damn job and passed us off to poor Nuzhat, who was already drowning in other clients. Meanwhile, Cathy was busy scrolling through her phone and gossiping with her equally useless coworkers, not lifting a finger. She even had the nerve to yell at Nuzhat to hurry up while she did nothing but sit on her lazy ass. It was a complete disaster from start to finish, leaving us rushed, disrespected, and receiving absolute garbage service. Booking a specific stylist here is a joke--you'll just get pawned off to someone else because they're too lazy to do their own work! When I confronted Cathy about the ridiculous charges, she had the AUDACITY to act like she was the queen of the salon with her "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude. She acted like I was the problem, not her, insisting the charges were correct when they clearly weren't. Nuzhat had told me our total should've been $59, not the insane $107 we were charged. When I brought this up at the register, they dragged Cathy out to publicly humiliate me in front of everyone. I've never been so disrespected in my life. Cathy talked down to me like I was some kind of idiot, making sure the whole salon could hear. I felt bullied into paying while this woman sat there sneering at me like I was beneath her. And the best part? When I refused to leave a tip after being overcharged $48 for services that NEVER even happened, the front desk girl shot me a look like I was the lowest form of human being. As if I was the bad guy for not tipping after they'd just ROBBED me blind! I tried to get this sorted through ULTA's corporate office, made FOUR calls, sent multiple emails, and finally spoke to some joke of a "manager" named Tamika. You'd think a manager would actually handle things, but she's no better than Cathy. She told me she'd "talk to Cathy" to "get the full story." WHY would you trust someone who's already been caught in a lie? I even asked her to review the salon's security footage to prove what really happened, but Tamika just went silent. She clearly didn't care. Tamika promised to call me back by 5 PM the next day. Guess what? Crickets. Nothing! This ULTA is a cesspool of incompetence, deceit, and the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Cathy should be fired immediately for her sheer laziness, dishonesty, and complete inability to do her job. This location doesn't deserve a single penny from anyone. Save yourself the nightmare and avoid ULTA Beauty in Woodbridge like the plague. They'll overcharge you, treat you like dirt, and then shrug their shoulders when you try to get some basic customer service. TO ULTA: Don't even bother asking me to contact your worthless customer service team again. I've wasted enough time with your pathetic company. I've already filed a dispute with my credit card and gotten my money back. You won't see another dime from me. I've been here before but today I left out with a lot of items. I'm a makeup novice at the ripe age of 40! So I'm not about to break the bank just wanted to get some fresh items that would make me look natural but still "made up" especially my eyebrows. That was what I was really interested in getting items to get these brows looking decent. I have some very old stuff that I haven't used in probably a decade that needs to be thrown out. Had someone who helped me out and gave me some tips. I don't know about the contouring and all that I like my little nose...lol so that will not be happening anytime soon. First time visiting the salon at this location. I was taken back immediately by FiFi she was warm and welcoming. I was offered a scalp detox treatment which was nice. While my hair was being washed I was offered other services that weren't necessary as I get my hair done bi-weekly (deep conditioning, protein treatment, and trimmings when needed). The services offered (a gloss treatment to "make my hair vibrant" and a trim). I know I didn't need either as I had my hair trimmed a week prior to this visit so it seemed predatory, even as I declined I was asked "are you sure"... so be aware of those sale type practices if you visit this location. I did ask for a deep conditioning but after declining on services I didn't need, I was brought to her chair and blow drying began instead of being place under a steamer with conditioner in my hair... I chose not to say anything because I get my hair done professionally regularly so no big deal. If your hair requires any additional services by all means get the extra service but if your hair doesn't require the extra services... do you. During styling (flat ironing) I was burned at the nape and front of my head to which I now have scaring, the back was pretty severe... FiFi did apologize but she didn't apply any aid she just kept doing my hair. I kept putting my hand back there as it hurt like hell but me being burnt was of no concern to FiFi. We had great conversations with other clients and stylists while my hair was being styled. All in all a decent experience, I'm not sure that I would choose the same stylist but I would visit the Ulta salon again. I also like while your hair is being washed, a foot rest is placed under your feet which makes the washing of your hair extremely comfortable and relaxing. read more

Ive only ever had one bad experience at this location. Me and my mother (who doesn't speak much english) were looking around in the perfumes and an employee (who looks similar to Maui from the movie Moana.) came up to her and asked in a very dull tone "do you have a question about this one?" my mother replied with "oh, do you work here?" (genuine question) the employee just continued to reply in that dull, bored, high-key rude tone again.. "do you have a question.?" my mother, "oh so you do work here?" the employee,"do you have a question???" in a most definitely rude tone. Every time I come here, I leave crying I will not come by myself ever again. This ulta and the baileys crossroads employees are being very mean to me. I walk around looking for stuff and I didn't know stuff was not sold here and at Sephora. I like this Ulta!!! Everyone is super helpful as you walk thru the stores. I can always find exactly what I need most of the time. The only time I cannot is if it is a sale item that is popular. I am always distracted by the stands right by the register because there tends to be a line so you find yourself looking thru all the bins. In doing so, you start mentally trying to justify in your head the additional purchases since they are not what you came here for, but they have caught your eye. Well played Ulta, well played. They do have a rewards program so you can accumulate points for your purchases that translate to money that you can use towards future purchases. If that is not enough they always have a coupon that switches back and forth between $3.50 off a $15.00 purchase of 20% off one item. Before you get to excited, it does not work on name brand hair care or beauty products. They do have a salon and a brow bar, I have not had services at either but they always have someone in a chair so they must be doing a decent job. While this location is in Stonebridge, there is plenty of parking around the town center. The store also has two entrances so you can gain entry from the front and the back of the store. read more

Do not walk around this store without knowing what you want ti buy. The male employees will borderline harass you until you either want to leave. Ran to my usual Ulta yesterday and had a pretty hot & cold experience, which was out of the ordinary for me personally. I had 3 lovely ladies that helped me find product for an upcoming event, however the end of my trip was confusing to say the least. At checkout, the young lady asked for my phone #, if I was an ulta member etc..which is expected, but when it came to showing my email address to get my receipt, it had shown a completely different email. I stopped her to correct it (I am a member and had been there a couple months before without issue), and noticed that the email matched the first/last name of a physical copy receipt stacked in front of her from assumedly previous transactions? So we put in my email, it was one letter off, easy fix, and I assumed I would be seeing it reflected on my email. As of today, I haven't seen anything. I did point out that the email matched the name on the receipts next to her (I didn't want to mistakenly have a receipt sent to what I assume was the previous customer), but she just asked if it was my first time coming to the store/purchasing things there etc etc and gave me my change. read more

I went into the woodbridge location to find some items and to start off, the testers were empty and there was barely anyone on the sales floor. I went to check out and there was a girl by the name of Mikaili who was at first okay and then was just rude towards the end of my transaction. I told her to give me a second as i stepped out of line to grab an item behind me to scan out just to see that the card transaction on the screen like she was ready for me to be done. I changed my mind on one of my items and she made a comment that i found a bit offensive "would you like to get the cheaper one" as if i couldn't afford that item. Then, she continued to talk to her coworkers as if that conversation was more important than the customer in front of her. She was rushing me through my transaction and her energy was just very snarky and disrespectfu. But to be quite far, This location has always had rude employees who never greet you and have broken MANY rules coming from a former ulta employee. I am a different type of girl in that, I don't really like to get my hair done on a consistent basis...it's just so much money that you spend and I'd rather just have it nice and long and untouched... Truly, I am a creature of habit and efficiency. A couple of months back I met this really cool chick named Cree, at the Wegmans nearby. We got to talking, we hit it off, and she happened to tell me she did hair at the Ulta nearby. She gave me her card. A couple months go by and I need to go get my hair done. And she does a PHENOMENAL JOB. My mom's friend had messed my hair-cut, and she fixed it. She's talkative, engaging, nice, caring, and incredibly good at her craft. She's requests, and suggests, things out of honesty that the client needs it, and not just because she wants to make more $$. I know this may not count as a review for Ulta. But she does work there, so if you need a GOOD, very affordable, prime haircut/blow out/and all of the above -- come here, ask for Cree ANNND if you say "Lina Forero" referred you, you and I will BOTH get 15 bucks off your cut, or whatever you decide to get. read more

The staff at this location is very nice and helpful. I don't know them as well as the Fredericksburg staff, but regardless they're great! They help me find what i need when I'm there! I really go to this location infrequently. I don't love the way the store is set up, especially that all the nail stuff is like right at the line. FIFI at the Woodbridge Ulta hair salon is one of the best hairstylists I have ever been to. She makes my hair look beautiful each time. She listens to what I want and executes it perfectly. I have gone to her many, many times and will continue to as long as I live here. I usually get my roots touched up, a glaze, hair cut, wash, and blow dry. She even does my eyebrows to match! She is an expert hairdresser and makes you feel like a friend. She always goes above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend her as a stylist. She does NOT overcharge and is worth every penny. I called the salon to fix my hair as my hair was looking different after coming back from the Salon. The manager of the Salon her name is 'Bruk'who was very rude. When I called her to fix the color as it's not the right color I asked for and she misbehaved with me. I don't know how come this person got a job in that store who doesn't know how to deal with the customer. I normally don't have any issues with this location. Typically I go in, pick up whatever I need and leave pretty quickly. I went to this location for the first time since this pandemic started a few days ago. I was SUPER uncomfortable. It was like if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic. There were a lot of people in here touching the products (even though there are many signs asking customers to please not touch). The check-out line is snaked around the wall.. people were waking in between to look at products along the wall, and people were practically standing on top of eachother. I placed an online order at the night previous to when I thought the instore pick up would be. I waited until 5pm. No email. Tried calling the store. No one answers and even though I push option 4, in cycles back through 4 times without even speaking to a person. So I called customer service, had them cancel my order because obviously going to pick it out and wait in line to pay was going to be much easier. When I got there, this store was DISGUSTING. Sanitation standards and nightly/through the day cleaning standards obviously aren't implemented in this store. This is more than just the normal busy day mess. A lot of these were caked and days old, as anyone could tell by looking. Worst Ulta Beauty in the state of Virginia. They abuse staff, gossip and do not care about doing their jobs. There's only ever one cashier and all the good people are always leaving. The amount of new faces I see is heartbreaking as you can tell this is another cold corporate business that does not take care of their employees. There is only ever one or two people working the register. Only one or two managers I've interacted with have been kind (Leena and Lara) but the one who can't keep her crusty lashes on and the perpetually pregnant one are down right rude and nasty. I'm so finished shopping here and after hearing how they treated one of my favorite stylists I'm never coming back. i witnessed racial profiling first hand. i was with a group of classmates and not a SINGLE worker offered to help us. i was looking for black eyeshadow and looked for help, not a single sign. many of my classmates were making their purchases when suddenly the police showed up and asked began to question us. many of us were in line to PURCHASE items already, and the rest of us were still browsing. bottom line: they clearly felt threatened and had ZERO evidence of us doing anything, yet called the cops and said we were HIGH SCHOOLERS skipping class. we are college students in a professional program... none of us were dressed anything below business casual, faces revealed and everything. no backpacks, bags or anything we could even use to hide products. i'm upset by this experience and i will NEVER return to this ulta. read more

Every time I visit this location, there are multiple employees on the floor who don't greet or ask if I need any help. I'm a diamond member so I shop often, but it's gotten to the point where I'd rather just order online than visit this store which is very close to me. Every time I go the women are all just chatting with each other, and the ones who seem in charge are always too busy trying to fix or replenish products than care to acknowledge shoppers.
