Nightmare.. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon. I showed the stylist exactly what color I wanted, and they confidently said they could achieve it, but the final result looked completely different from what was promised. Not only did my hair turn out nothing like the reference photo, but the color is barely visible and looks uneven and dull. What makes this even worse is the lack of honesty and professionalism. At no point was I told that the result might be different or that my hair could not achieve the color I requested. Instead, I paid a very high price expecting professional results and left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly upset. I also wasted hours of my time for something I never asked for. A professional salon should communicate clearly, manage expectations, and stand behind their work. Unfortunately, this place did none of that. This review is for Betty. Do NOT allow her to touch your hair!! Especially if it's curly. I came in and saw Orlando in January. I wanted lighter color to my brown hair, but was afraid it would ruin my curls as color has done to me in the past. He assured me a balayage would give soft highlights without changing my curls and would also be easy to maintain. That was true! He did a fantastic job and it looked so great!! So I came back for an update. I booked the first available appointment (which I guess was Betty). When I sat down and told her I booked a balayage, she asked me why? I told her it was what was recommended last time I came in. She talked me out of it saying that highlights were the same thing (they aren't!) and she said highlights were actually cheaper (which turned out to be false because I was charged the same amount as a balayage). I should have left and gone somewhere else. I went against my gut and got highlights and now my curls are stringy and dry. The color doesn't compliment my natural tones at all. I'm so sad. I also asked specifically for layers that would not look like a triangle on my head. Now I have two distinct layers that are triangles of ugly frizzy curls. Sorry Orlando, I will not be back. If you've got curly hair, I recommend you keep looking for somewhere else. read more

Every two to three months, I visit the salon, not just for myself but also for my three daughters who get their haircuts here as well. Orlando's work has always been the reason I kept coming back -- I've genuinely admired his craft and the way he's handled my hair in the past, which is why this review is especially difficult for me to write. Today's visit, however, was deeply disappointing and hurtful. My hair had grown out to shoulder-length, and I came in hoping to have it cut like Orlando had styled it this past winter. I even showed him a photo of the exact cut I wanted -- a cut he himself had done before. Unfortunately, what I received was far from what I asked for. The cut was uneven and didn't resemble the style in the photo at all. When I expressed that I wasn't happy with it, rather than acknowledge my concern, Orlando got defensive and began to justify the result by saying the original haircut had been done while I was transitioning from a pixie cut -- which didn't make sense to me, given that my hair is now significantly longer, offering more room for the same style. He then tried to convince me that "the length didn't matter," which completely dismissed my feelings and the photo I brought in for reference. What hurt the most wasn't just the haircut -- it was the way I was treated. I didn't raise my voice or create a scene. I simply told him I didn't like the result. Instead of an apology or a solution, I was met with frustration, blame, and ultimately, rejection. Orlando told me he no longer felt "comfortable" cutting my hair and that he "knows himself" and just "can't" do it anymore. After years of being a kind and loyal customer -- even bringing food to the staff to show my appreciation -- I was heartbroken to be treated like my loyalty meant nothing the moment I gave honest feedback. I quietly teared up in the salon. While Orlando ignored it, one of his staff members noticed and asked if I was okay. All I could do was gather my things and leave. Not being charged for the haircut didn't make up for the emotional experience of being dismissed and blamed after all these years. So, to begin with my hair was black I went in for a color correction to get a balayage. Left like a messed up calico cat:( However, my hair was multi colors after they completely bleached my hair twice. The reason I'm giving 1star is because I explained I wanted my grey hair blending on top and a lighter money piece. I left with absolutely no grey blending and my roots just covered with dark dye and absolutely no money piece. Also, my hair is still extremely brassy and very orange red with wheat colored highlights. Absolutely nothing that I wanted. I do understand there is a process and going from black to blonde is impossible but I wanted a caramel color. I was there from 10am till 6:30pm and I regretted the whole $800 process and now have to wait till my hair recovers from all the damage to find a new stylist with more experience in color correction. To get a whole new correction. So, positives the environment is great the employees are amazing I really liked the place everyone is very friendly and nice. I also, got my eyebrows done which was amazing definitely 5 stars for eyebrows. Would I recommend this place yes for hair cuts and yes for eyebrows. Absolutely would not recommend for color correction if you have black hair but in all fairness it's always a risk. When my hair appointment at another location fell through due to a stylist's medical emergency, I had a very narrow window of time to find other option before holiday events. I called Beyond Studio more than two hours before they were scheduled to open for the day. Although I wasn't surprised when no one picked up since I was calling so early, I was thrilled to receive a text a few minutes later asking if I needed to make an appointment. I explained the situation and was booked for the next morning with Connie. Connie went over what I needed done with my hair to get everything back to a natural color and cut. I'm a total total wimp when it comes to cutting my hair, and Connie respected my request to trim off just a tiny amount, even though I know it would probably be healthier to do more. I especially loved the hot towel during the processing and the shampoo that smelled so good. My hair looked amazing by the end of the appointment. Even my husband noticed when I got home (and he NEVER notices when I get my hair done) and said I look five years younger! My experience here is not good. I arrive and did have my hair washed at my appointment time. However, the entire wash I was being sold on products. Then it took an hour for Orlando to come and actually begin my cut. He did not ask me how I wanted my hair styles and gave me pretty tight curls which is not how I like my hair done. Then I come home and after washing my hair realize that the sides are completely uneven. I felt very uncomfortable and will not be returning. read more

This is going to be a long review so if you're going to take anything from it let it be : 1. You don't get your own stylist. One will come do a part leave and the next will do another part (Orlando did my roots for the dye and someone else did my ends) 2. Watch for your receipt. (When I booked my appt it said $175 for color and haircut -- which is exactly what I got ) they charged me 220 before tip. 3. The owner (Orlando) is arrogant, petulant and detached. Bad Haircut First time at this salon, after looking for the reviews I booked Orlando specifically bc several reviews said he was good at his job. I told him I wanted a Burgandy bob and he immediately said it wouldn't work bc I already had color in my hair. I take his advice and go for the color he recommended from a book they have-- he does my roots with the color and then leaves and I don't see him again until the haircut. When we got to the hair cut again I said I wanted a bob and pointed on myself the length that I wanted-- once again he hit me with the " but " saying my face was too round and the bob wouldn't suit me so he was going to do an inverted bob (he didn't use this term for it bc his arrogance demonstrated he thought I knew nothing about hair). Once again I trust the process and his professionalism and let him do the cut. Immediately he starts cutting layers into my hair which I never mentioned wanting, but again I trusted the process. I would have been okay with all of this as long as my hair turned out good. To my disbelief a few hours later when I got home i saw how terrible and uneven the haircut was. I was so disturbed because the only way to fix this is to go even shorter and my hair was already chin length. The following day was Sunday so I called and asked if he was in to go talk to him, employee said no not until Monday so on Monday at 6pm I walk in and the place is closed ( odd bc online it says 630 and on their door it says 7) but Orlando saw me and opened the door anyways and I tell him I want my money back for cut and color. He said yes for the cut and no for the color( I didn't argue bc hair color is subjective) I also said I was over charged ( he was not surprised at all when I said this so makes me think this is not unusual for them ) and he agreed to refund the overpayment too. After walking over to the register he starts saying how the haircut isn't bad that it was the way I styled it--- this made me so angry bc how is he going to tell me I can't see how even my haircut is when I straightened it specifically emphasized how uneven it was. I stopped and asked him " do you think this is a good haircut " and he responded with " I'm not giving your your money back " I ask why and he said bc of my attitude--- keep in mind I was calm up until he wasn't taking accountability for the bad haircut. I may have struck a nerve but I wasn't rude and I didn't raise my voice. After this things got a little heated between us. Ultimately we came to an agreement and I got a refund for the haircut and the over charge and tip. All I wanted was Orlando to show some empathy for how he left my hair and acknowledge he messed me up. But no-- in his eyes the haircut was great and my styling is the problem. She gave me tips, tricks and asked any questions I had about my hair care. I debated writing this review but considering I'm thinking about it 6+ months after the fact, I've decided to. I went for the one and only time I will go to this salon because of Orlando. I told him a summarized bit of my history of my experience with my hair and hair stylists and he lectured me about things he assumed about me, which were wrong--but he did it with a smile, which always throws me. At one point he told me no one would want me in their chair because I just want a basic cut and it's not worth their time. Called in to see if there was someone available for a simple hair cut and was assigned to Dulce , she was very gentle with my hair and gave me the cut that I wanted and the blow out was even better .
